Good morning everyone! I just got out of bed. Had a late night talking with some awesome buddies.

SO much to do today! Must go get paint (45 minute drive just to get there), get DH started with painting (after the Michigan game) and get that darn basement finished. I'm going through the kids' toys - maybe I should just get a trash bag and toss it all, but then I think about landfills and how other kids could use these toys, so I sit and organize.... I don't have that organizing gene, kwim?
Have a great day everyone!

My mouth is salivating too....I'm getting the sad feeling that my life will not be complete without a large slice of that scrumptious chocolate cake....ugh, the peril of being so far away from something so beautiful...
LOL!!!!! I was like that with a certain ice cream bar in the hospital cafeteria. Our apartment was across the parking lot from the hospital, so I'd send DH over there to pick me up one every.single.day. It got to the point where they were ordering them just for me.Really? WHERE? I love clam chowder, and we'll be there in January. We'll be eating at the condo, mostly, but I'll make a point of getting some of that!
As for the food porn here, I was doing juuuuuuust fine right up until I saw those mashed potatoes and gravy. I'm a gravy slave. Man I really want some of that now. I think I've told you guys this before, but when I was pregnant with my oldest, when the hyperemesis finally subsided about month 5 or 6, I craved mashed potatoes and gravy from KFC all the time. Home made would NOT do. It was a 25 minute drive from my house to go get them...but I did it regularly. After awhile all the drive through people had it figured out, and nobody asked if I wanted any chicken with that anymore.I could just picture them as I drove away from the speaker yelling "It's that pregnant lady again!"

Thanks Studentmom! Good luck with those classes!!!Yum!! Those taters and macaroni look yummy.
MeghansMommy- I hope your sister's doctor is able to find the right combo of medication. I feel so bad for her.
Someone asked about weather? It was pretty warm here today. I would love to have some snow here. Hey, I can dream, right?![]()
I feel like I can finally breathe a little easier now. I've had a lot of Chemistry homework these past few days. Not easy for this girl. I just don't seem to catch on as quickly as I use to, lol.
I love that quote. It's perfect not only for the Republican party, but for me getting the house ready for guests coming for Christmas.I was looking up conservative quotes for this purpose, and I found the following from Calvin Coolidge:
"We cannot do everything at once, but we can do something at once."
I think it speaks to how we can't get the Republican party and conservatism back on track all at once, but we can start right now. And we can do it by working together. Not sure how to make it fit as a title though.
ETA: Debbie, croque monsieur is essentially a grilled hot ham and cheese sandwich, popular in France. Chefs de France sells it as well, although not sure if that's where hockeymom's pic came from.

Beautiful!!! Thanks so much for sharing!!!No matter what it is like, it will be nicer than it is here. January is "Seriously Snotty" season.![]()
And since you complimented Washington state, I will now subject you to a few pics:
Gig Harbor, where I "officially" live (according to my street address) although I actually live on Key Peninsula. When I was in high school, though, I lived on the water, a bit to the left down the harbor from where this picture was taken. I did see that view out our living room windows for those years.

Big Mama deer snacking on huckleberries in my driveway. She brings her baby every year to snack on my garden, too.![]()

Don't even know why I'm including this one, except I think it's a pretty cool picture, and it shows the crazy undergrowth we have here that swallows things up. This is in the woods behind my house.

JoEmma State Park, a few miles down the peninsula from us.

I wanted to be a fighter pilot too! But since I can't handle anything more than a carosel ride (seriously - I get motion sickness pretty awful), I decided that maybe it's not the thing for me. The movie Star Wars inspired me though - I sooo wanted to be a fighter pilot. Still do!*eta; yeah, I like watching the Blue Angels too...oh heck, any fighters flying turns me on. I wanted to be a fighter pilot soooooooo bad. I love the things. Does that make me a warmongering....ah never mind, just associating with you guys makes me that. (haha...joking) I really never wanted to bomb anything, just wanted to drive the sportscar.
