We need suggestions for our new thread. I think it should have something to do with what ties us together.....like friends and values.

I saw that. I'll have to try it!![]()
T&G, I edited my prior post to give you a mini-review.![]()
Pacific Wharf Cafe at CA Adven, but wonderlanne told ya already. If you were going to be there in Dec we'd have some together, but since I only live 20 mins away from you we'll have to have lunch sometime.Really? WHERE? I love clam chowder, and we'll be there in January. We'll be eating at the condo, mostly, but I'll make a point of getting some of that!
I've never thought this part of WA is pretty. I much prefer warm weather and beaches and palm trees...think HI or FL.![]()
ds and I have been pining for real croque monsieur from France. MMMM I can almost taste it!

I'll trade ya. Well, the city where my brother lives ( in WA) is a little dry, but everywhere else seemed to be so green and pretty. We drove from his house to Seattle. It was a nice drive. I really liked Pikes Marketplace, btw.![]()
I was looking up conservative quotes for this purpose, and I found the following from Calvin Coolidge:
"We cannot do everything at once, but we can do something at once."
I think it speaks to how we can't get the Republican party and conservatism back on track all at once, but we can start right now. And we can do it by working together. Not sure how to make it fit as a title though.
ETA: Debbie, croque monsieur is essentially a grilled hot ham and cheese sandwich, popular in France. Chefs de France sells it as well, although not sure if that's where hockeymom's pic came from.
What in the world is that bit of cheesy heaven? I've never heard of croque monsieur.
Yummmmm.....

I'm laughing, because I got confused for a second. My name is Debbie, also. LOL
Oh, January is a great month to visit. It can be a little unpredictable, but usually very nice.

Beautiful pictures, Michelle!
I'm about to turn in, but for you Glenn Beck fans, here's part of a nice article about his book signing in the Bristol, VA area earlier tonight.![]()
Beck: We Are The People Clinging To God And Guns
Books-A-Million was packed nearly an hour before Beck was slated to arrive at 8 p.m., each fan standing in line according to the number on their ticket. Single file, 500 people snaked switchbacks around the book shelves, waiting with fevered anticipation to meet the man several called their hero.
Every one in line held a copy of The Christmas Sweater, Becks third book.
...
At Becks arrival, an exuberant applause broke out in the bookstore.
Praise Jesus, someone yelled several times. Were not worthy, declared another. An eruption of camera flashes accompanied the frenzy, capturing Becks dramatic entrance.
He strode toward a platform before the crowd, stepped onto it and raised his arms to the sky.
We are the people clinging to God and guns, he boomed.
Beck spoke briefly to his fans, his voice breaking at times, before he sat down to sign his name 500 times. He told them about his faith and his life and the fans he has met during his signing tour.
This is a real bond between me and my listeners, Beck said. I wouldnt stand in line for anybody. For them to stand in line for me, its amazing.

No matter what it is like, it will be nicer than it is here. January is "Seriously Snotty" season.![]()
And since you complimented Washington state, I will now subject you to a few pics:
Gig Harbor, where I "officially" live (according to my street address) although I actually live on Key Peninsula. When I was in high school, though, I lived on the water, a bit to the left down the harbor from where this picture was taken. I did see that view out our living room windows for those years.

Big Mama deer snacking on huckleberries in my driveway. She brings her baby every year to snack on my garden, too.![]()

Don't even know why I'm including this one, except I think it's a pretty cool picture, and it shows the crazy undergrowth we have here that swallows things up. This is in the woods behind my house.

JoEmma State Park, a few miles down the peninsula from us.

Those are great pictures! I love all of the greenery. Thank you so much for sharing them. Oh, I meant to say...when we were up there, we got stuck in traffic on our way to Seattle, but it turned out that it was was because the Blue Angels (?) were practicing overhead. Pretty neat!
I didn't realize that!So we have at least 3 Debs/Debbies here.
We could always assign each of you numbers! Debbie #1, Debbie #2, and Debbie #3. How's that sound?![]()
Yeah, he lives near Yakima.Does he live on the east side of the mountains? Yeah...totally different weather system.
