H is going to cause great damage to all of us. I just hope there is something we can do about it.

BTW, when are the OS going to quit with all the "racist" stuff?

Have y'all heard about the Obama spokesman who said that Obama is ready to take power and RULE from day one?

It's on Drudge. Disgusting. Well folks, we got what I thought we were gonna get - a dictator, not a president.

He has no intention of Governing - he wants to Rule. :sad2:

Prepare for massive amounts of Executive orders during the next 4 years.

They aren't. I predict more racial division after the next 4 years than we've seen in a long time.

I saw that, too. If H had been sitting in some other church across America for the last 20 years instead of listening to the hate-spewing Rev, he might have gotten a tiny clue that what "real" leaders do is SERVE.

As we listen to H's choice of words (and that of his minions) much is revealed about what is lacking in his character.

Stopping by for a quick hello. :wave2:

I dedicate to all the OS lurkers out there ;) :

:rotfl2: just love this :lmao: .......as for the racism.....as for the OS they still don't get it why many others have not followed him like this :worship: :snooty: ..sooooooooo we will all remain racist ...just because they cant phantom why we dont agree with what is in his plans.....that we don't agree with the CHANGE he want's to offer us....

:confused3................ what can I say except

They cannot stop calling their opponents racist......it is still all they have.........and it works...... I still say it is a dumb strategy and one that ensures we stay divided, but they are obviously comfortable with that.

I don't believe that President-elect Obama will damage me.......he will very likely ensure that I keep less of my hard earned money than I know I should, but I don't see this being permanent.

I look at this administration as "Put Up or Shut Up time" for the liberals. President-elect Obama promised the Moon during the campaign and there is no way he can deliver on any of it......and keep the Moonbats happy.

It is win/win for us, as long we keep referring to the list of promises from his campaign and what he actually does.....well that and not descend into the childish hatred we saw the last 8 years from screamers like above.

Keep in mind, Sen McCain (for all his faults), still received 46% of the popular vote.

We just need to get back to basics (like the thread title) & watch events unfold.

I already started. I no longer have cable TV or newspaper subscriptions. I am done with the media and their elite bias.

I am internet only. We have plenty of DVD's.

Regards,

I considered the whole "let's call them racists" a tactic to bully and/or intimidate people from expressing their opinions. If they actually believe it, well I just don't care because I don't give people like that enough worth to sit in judgment of others.

Holy slanted media, Mr Man! Your post reminded me that I need to call and cancel my subscription to Time ASAP! I just signed up for Sports Illustrated (and scored a sweet Panthers jacket to boot) so I no longer need Time for my short reading sessions throughout the week. Enough of that liberal tripe in my house!
...and TimeWarner still gets to keep my money, so it will be a wash for them. :goodvibes

Anyone ever done ABD?????[/SIZE]

<snip>

We WERE going to do ABD next year. Now we're doing AB-M (adventure by military:rotfl2: ) I may have some points to rent.... cheap!

Zippa D Doodah;28643111]Hi everybody. I'm away from the DIS for a couple of days and it feels like I've been gone forever. :upsidedow

I only read the last page or two, but am I correct in assuming that there continues to be an invasion of leftists? Poor things... they're like the Hare Krishna people in airports back in the 70's and 80's. They can't take "no" for an answer and they won't quit pestering you. :sad2: At any rate, continue with the bombardment of flowers and lasagna, and send up the batsignal if necessary. :goodvibes

Is anyone else feeling really out of place in terms of what's going on right now? I remember when the Bush-haters would say stuff like "Bush is not my president" and I wouldn't understand. I do now. I feel like some kind of outside observer of American politics at the moment. I don't look to H as any kind of leader, any more than I do the head of some foreign country -and he hasn't even taken office yet!
I didn't fell like that during the Clinton years. It honestly surprises me because I am typically a loyal and patriotic person, but right now I have nothing but disdain for the coming administration. Maybe worse yet, it could turn into apathy.
As I think about it, this is probably similar to the range of emotions that an assault victim goes through. Having been mugged the victim feels anger, and then just gets sort of numb. What comes next?

When he takes the oath of office in January he will be my CIC. As they say at the prison... "it is what it is". My job is to keep the flag flying.

I've concerns over his selection, but will protect those in my charge with all the power afforded me by The One who grants all power.

Well, anyone that would use the word "rule" instead of "SERVE" is quite the example.

I think I know kind of how you feel. It feels surreal, in a way. Like I'm watching a bad movie. Except, this won't end in two hours, like a movie would. I look at my kids (19, 17, 15, 12 and 10) and wonder...what will the world be like for them?

But...I can't just sit back and watch it happen. We have got to rally together, and fight to take this country back. I'm trying to learn how to best do that.
What "I" can do to make a difference.

I think it would be helpful if people here could post ideas about things like that. Like whoever it was who posted about contacting our Congressmen about Mike Pence for the Republican House Minority leader position. That kind of thing is helpful, I think.

I totally agree. Maybe we could have 2 threads.

A fluffy one, going to WDW, had trouble at work, OS are driving me batty. Oh, and Breezy's cooking!

And a "What can I do to make a difference" thread for ideas and information politically speaking.

I am not sad about H (love that, by the way) winning.
I am mad about the Reps giving away the presidency (and congress and senate last round).

Hey Muushka, what do you make of what happened in NC? Voters were ready for "change" but failed to make changes in state level elections. The Dems who have ruled Raleigh for a long time have been caught in all sorts of nasty scandals, some even jailed, over the last couple of years. Yet voters stayed with the status quo in electing a governor who has spent her who adult life haunting the hallways of the state capitol. :confused3

Yup, I guess "change" only meant no Rep president.

I was surprised that a dem got in for governor (trust me, I didn't vote dem). After the Black and Decker debacle, amazing that any dems got in anywhere.

I was not surprised that Dole got ousted. She ran a very strange campaign towards the end. And I don't think she was that great a senator, but I am less sure of her replacement.

Michael Regan was just on our local radio. He is thinking of giving up radio and going into politics. He is ticked at the way the White House has been run. And Reps in general.

Ah, the Panthers, right now 3rd in the league! I'm thinking Superbowl!

I stopped watching the news, I'm tired of seeing the media praise "H". I also want to get back at Hollywood and so tempted to stop going to the theaters for awhile.

I finally ventured out in the CB last night and it didn't take long before I was called "ignorant". I am 50 and I have never been around a group of arrogant and vile discontents in all my life. I have also noticed that several are missing their siggies. :rolleyes1

That man is not my president as I've stated before, he's a place holder.

H is going to cause great damage to all of us. I just hope there is something we can do about it.

BTW, when are the OS going to quit with all the "racist" stuff?

They won't quit with the racist unless everyone drinks the koolaid and becomes a believer. I for one will never become a bot.

I wasn't surprised either that Dole lost. She waited too long to take teh campaign seriously, and then when she did it got strange real fast especially toward the end. Kay Hagan shoudl get a grip on herself though. She's nothing but the third Senator from NY. If she doesn't know that now she will in January.

It's always hard for Republicans to win state office in NC, but I though this was an ideal year for McRory to become governor. With Black and other Dem leaders behind bars and Easley a cipher for the least couple years I thought voters would embrace the change and leadership McRory promised. Hmmmm... at least we know it's just the "same old same old" in Raleigh for the next while and not some new strain of wierdness like what's breaking out in Washington. ;)

I won't either. I'm thankful there are many here, and around America, who will not drink it.

Why McCain Lost
By Michael Reagan November 7, 2008

Barack Obama is president-elect of the United States because the Republican Party and John McCain handed him the presidential election on a silver platter.

The Republican Party and the Bush White House walked away from Republican ideals and they walked away from Republican values.

George Bush allowed the Republican Congress to overspend in the first six years of his administration without once using the veto pen, blindsided the conservative Republican members of Congress on many occasions, and walked away from the base of his party on immigration reform and other issues such as Medicare and No Child Left Behind.

He refused to sit down and break bread with the conservative members of his own party on Capitol Hill, yet believed that he could break bread with the liberal Democrats in Washington the way he did with the Democrats in Austin, Texas. And when he discovered it didn't work in Washington, it failed to stop him from trying and trying and trying over again what was obviously impossible.

Finally, the coup de grace was Dick Cheney's endorsement of John McCain in the waning days of the campaign, which gave Barack Obama the final nail to put in the coffin of McCain's campaign, which was striving mightily to distance him from the Bush administration.

Then there was McCain's campaign itself. It was the worst campaign since Bob Dole's on the Republican side, and the best campaign since Ronald Reagan’s on the Democrat side.

The McCain campaign was a campaign out of the 20th century, while the Democrats were running a campaign in the 21st century.

We need to understand that this was not a referendum on Reaganomics and Ronald Reagan. This was a referendum on George Bush, and Bush-ism, and Bush’s lack of leadership.

John McCain wouldn't stand up against the Democrats in Washington D.C. on the Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac scandals, against expanding government, a $700 billion bailout, and going against the traditional values of conservative Republicans.

The economic collapse was the Democrats’ fault. Yet John McCain never bothered going after them on that. He let the burglars walk away with the loot because those were his friends, and with George Bush failed to point the finger of blame at the people who caused the financial collapse that has plunged the nation into a certain recession. Bush had the bully pulpit but failed to use it, and the Democrats walked away scot-free.

Shockingly, John McCain failed to use the most potent weapon in his arsenal -- the culpability of Barack Obama and his friends in the wholesale looting of Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac that led to the current debacle. McCain had the goods, but wouldn't exploit them.

The McCain campaign made inadequate use of Gov. Sarah Palin, who had enormous crowd appeal. A lot of people voted for John McCain because of Sarah Palin. There were bigger a crowds because of Sarah Palin. Yet some of the functionaries in the McCain campaign are trying to point the finger at her for McCain's defeat.

John McCain lost because of his lack of a clear message. He needed more than the fact that he is a maverick. His answer to the economic crisis was a $300 billion bailout for delinquent mortgagees. He was offering welfarism, while Barack Obama was offering socialism.

People laugh at me when I tell them the difference between Republicans and Democrats is that Republicans take a week longer to embrace communism.

This was not a referendum on Ronald Reagan. As a matter of fact, my dad might well have voted for Barak Obama just based on what he was seeing his party doing.

Finally, I hope that when Barack Obama was making elaborate and extravagant promises about what he was going to do, he was flat-out lying.

I hope Barack Obama will not be what he has promised to be. I hope he doesn't have a civilian security force. I hope he doesn't raise my taxes. I hope he doesn't spread the wealth. I hope he doesn't raise taxes on corporate America. I hope he looks at nuclear power. I hope he allows us to drill. I hope that there will be no revival of the fairness doctrine.

Wow, Michael, don't hold back! Tell us how you really feel!

I agree with what he is saying. I do not understand why McCain didn't go after the Fannie Freddie mess. It makes me wonder if it really is a conspiracy, both dems and reps involved. I am so mad!!!:scared1:
