The Conservative Thread: Back to Basics. Pass the Lasagna and Have a Flower!!

Remember my post the other day about being called an anti-Semite? Well, now, those of us who support Palin are also "religious zealouts" and we need to really think about why we supported the ticket. "Clearly" many of us had a problem with a black man as President. And "clearly" we are against Jewish people. Never mind that many of the GOP is constantly fighting for Israel. And clearly we need to "get over it" and "clearly" we don't like anyone.

And "clearly" I think some people are barking mad. :headache:

At first I cried, and then I went on YouTube and found Handel's "Messiah" and listened to that. If you want to call me a zealout because I'm a Christian AND a conservative, knock your stinking socks off. In fact, I think I'll take that as a compliment. I think I was actually called an evil genius and an idiot all in the same breath. Funny, but that seems a bit contradictory to me.

People sicken me, they really do.

And now I need to catch up on this thread, for real, and ignore the nonsense elsewhere.

Listen. I've come to the realization that those who are so big about crying racism if you didn't support Obama are the ones who have the problem with race - not us. And as for being called “religious zealots", as you say we now are, for supporting Palin? It's just more vile attacks to discredit Palin. Palin was an excellent candidate that symbolized the true change this country needed and that is why there is so much vile hatred towards her from the other side that still, even now that the election is over, continues. They think if they continue their vile lies about her, the vile smears about her and attack her supporters than she'll go away never to return. The OS don't want her to return. She's not their candidate and she'll always pose as a serious threat to whichever candidate they have running.

In a round about way. I stated, I had friends in East Germany that thought it was ironic we voted in a socialist POTUS. They thought we were stupid. Of course, the OS start the but, you're wrong...the "whole" world loves bo. They started attackin'. I said, "bless your heart" ...I was laughed at and called "Jesusy"....by someone who's not a Christian. I take that as mean-spirited and a personal attack.

Then report them. I know that most of us on here never stoop down to their level and report them when they say vile stuff or when we disagree with them but you know that they're reading all of our posts with their hands hovering over the report button and I'm sick of it.

They're right, to a point. Obama took advantage of the Internet and really used it in his favor. We need to figure out how we can use it. But more important than that is fixing the mess within the party. If they really think the main problem is effective use of the 'net, then we're in for more misery for a long time to come. :sad2:

Obama had hired hundreds of kids to do nothing but sit around all day long blogging on the internet. Their mission was to smear anyone running against Obama, take control over message boards and comment sections to bash the opposing candidate and make it all pro-Obama and to even pretend - when need be- to have been a person voting for the other candidate that saw the "error" of their ways and switched to Obama in attempts to get more of the sheep (aka: clueless Americans that really wasn't paying close attention to this election) to follow the Obama heard. Is this what the GOP should do next election?

It seems that to many liberals, if you don't agree with their ideas, than you're unreasonable or irrational. Look, I have no trouble if someone thinks that Obama's economic plans are just what the country needs. As long as they have thought out the issue, and Obama's stand on it, and agrees with it, well, then more power to them. But just because someone thinks differently does not make them unreasonable or irrational.

That is just a cop-out way of trying to invalidate any supporter of an opponent. It's what they revert to when they don't have a strong enough stand on their candidate's issues themselves to hold their own in a conversation.

I agree and just want to add: I also think that they just like to argue. I think their life would be pointless to them if they didn't have anything to argue about.

She didn't attack you and she was making fun of us(Christians). I don't think her comment was offensive, as a matter of fact, I thought it was funny. Maybe I'm not a real Christian. Like I'm not a real American.:rotfl2:

Oh well, I’m off to work now. Have a great day everyone.:flower3: :flower3

Long time lurker, first time cruising a political thread on DisBoards. Great posts all, even the libs. Always great to see them showing their true colors.

The great state of TN did its part this time. Too bad we allowed the MSM to pick our candidate. I didn't care for any of the candidates this year, it was like 1996 all over again.

With all of the disgusting vile coming from libs about Gov Palin I wonder if she's the closest to a conservative we have now? My wife (a big Coulter fan) just LOVES Sarah! She didn't care too much about this election until Gov Palin was announced and Ann gave her blessing. Even went and got a yard sign from the local GOP office. Our county leans far to the right so we were one of several houses on our street with McCain/Palin signs.

OBLIGATORY DISNEY REMARK: We're headed down to GF next week, meeting my brother's family and my parents. Staying 7 days! If we survive then it'll be back to work the next Monday.

Hi, Maryville is so pretty. We drove to your town a couple of times when we went to Gatlinburg. We leave for WDW in a week-I so need to go over my to do list!

I'll still be working down there then. So whatever restaurant I'm working at, PROMISE me you'll come see me!!!!!!:goodvibes :goodvibes :goodvibes

We're going back to WDW at the end of May! You need to let us know where to find you so that we can stop in and say hello.:goodvibes

I think Jesusy isn't a proper adjective. My AP English teacher would smack their hand.
They obviously know nothing about Jesus or don't like Him, either.
Remember that He said to take heart for the world will hate you, but to remember that it hated Him first (John 15:18).

I would've have said, "better Jesusy than Satany!"

Ok, I've been off the boards since the 31st of October b/c my grandmother passed away that week and I've been out of town since then.

I've never in my life seen some of the things that I saw on election night (which was also the day of my grandmother's funeral). The whole family was gathered at one house (30 plus people), most of the family are conservatives.

One of my aunts has never voted in her life. She was seriously jumping up and down doing an Obama dance the entire night (mind you again this is the night of my grandmother's funeral - her mom!). This is a woman that does not work even though she has 4 children. She doesn't get child support because she doesn't want to make the father angry and have him take the kids. All she does is mooch off others. She actually told people she wanted Obama to win because it means she'll get a big check from the government! So she's dancing around the house all night, then she has the nerve to call my sister a NAZI because she voted for McCain! She said she was a complete racist because she didn't vote for Obama. She continued on acting like an idiot the entire evening, and then towards the end of the evening we come to find out that she didn't even vote! The idiot was acting like Obama was the second coming and everyone that didn't vote for him was evil and she didn't even vote.

I'm sorry to read about your grandmother. I miss mine everyday.

For those of you who get called racist for being Republican, remind your so smart liberal "friends" that Martin Luther King Jr. was a Republican as well as his father and his niece is currently a Republican. The dems faught against civil rights and a certain hate racist group w/ 3 letters was created by DEMOCRATS! Then you can offer them a read at this beautiful website if they need proof http://www.nbra.info/ Libs are so smart so they must have just forgot that part of history :rolleyes1 :rotfl2:

This is how I'm doing my part. I started a myspace and facebook page dedicated mostly to posting info on my blog regarding Obama's left leaning and socialist policies and activities, as well as any info I can find on his radical associations, and his past. I made my myspace page public so that if any of my friends' friends happen to come across it, they can read what I have posted. It's a small start. If I can enlighten one kid, maybe they will enlighten someone, and so on down the line.

Ditto.

 Hi y'all!!!

I don't have time to catch up or stick around - just wanted to say Hiya. :)

I'll catch ya later. Keep fighting the good fight :thumbsup2

Apparently, no one "out there" cares about media bias AT ALL. :sad2:

The Wash. Post admits their bias toward Obama, but the response here is either "So?" or "Fox News" or "There's nothing we can do about it".

Hey! We got another flower!

You know, I think "I have friends who are Christian" may become the new "I have friends who are black".

Hi everyone! Hope you all have a great day today! Off to finish the laundry - I think it multiplies on its own.

Hey everyone,

Posted a couple of times but checked the thread daily. I always enjoyed the thread. So I would like to offer any conservative in this thread 2 nights in a studio at Old Key West for this Nov 21 & 22. The only thing is right now you would have to switch rooms. Maybe when you can check in they might be able to keep you in the same room. I had some extra points that I messed up so they need to be used by the end of November. If anyone can use them let me know.

Nope, haven't forgotten history.

Frederick Douglas was also a Republican.:thumbsup2

From Reconstruction until about 1930, the vast majority of blacks were Republican. As a matter of fact during Reconstruction, blacks ran for and were elected into public office as Republicans.

Scary isn't it. Media helped Obama to win and they will help him make this Presidency a success. So the big question is, will we get the correct news about what is really happening or will we get only the positive stuff? Will the media and newspapers help Obama blame the other party for its failures?

In a word..possibly. The media does love to build someone up and then tear them apart. They've built him up...we'll see what happens next.

For the near future, I do think the MSM's love affair with Obama will continue.

That is so nice of you! I won't be able to use it, but I think it's really nice of you to offer it to us.

Welcome to our thread (again)! :)

What a sweet offer. I wish we were there to take you up on it! Very nice of you.:cloud9:
(And they say conservatives have no heart!)

Dear ,

We did it! In this incredible year, we have changed our politics, our country and our nation! And I could not be more proud or more grateful to you for sharing this journey with me. From the bottom of my heart, thank you so much for everything you have done, for me, for Barack Obama, and for all our Democratic candidates, to make these successes possible.

I know that President-Elect Barack Obama will lead our country in the new direction we need. And with the great success of our House and Senate candidates, we can make our agenda a reality.

But make no mistake -- our work is not done! I will be doing everything I can in the Senate, working closely with the White House on the goals you and I set out. With President Obama and our strengthened majorities in Congress, we can get our economy back on track. We're going to make sure every man, woman, and child in America has health care. With smart, effective new policies, we will move toward energy independence and create millions of new green jobs. And we're finally going to bring the war in Iraq to a responsible close and reestablish America's relations with our allies around the world.

We cannot do it without you. We're going to need your strong support on these issues. Those who oppose us may have lost yesterday, but they are not going to give up. We have to match their passion and their effort if we truly want to build the America we believe in, and the future our children deserve.

But today, let's celebrate the amazing things we have accomplished and the history we have made. Our journey has been marked with moments of elation and moments of sadness; but now we can take the time to appreciate the difference we have made.

I'm so proud to be on this journey with you. Thank you so much for everything you did -- for me, for our nation, and for our future.

Sincerely,

Hillary

I thought I would post this so we could talk about it. What do you think? I bolded the parts I thought were interesting. :confused3 How exactly are they going to do this?

Stopping by for a quick hello. :wave2:

I'm going to try to check out the thread every day a lunch time, it seems like the only time I get to do any DISing anymore.

I dedicate to all the OS lurkers out there ;) :

Man, people have to be really full of themselves to think we give a crap what their opinion is regarding what is or is not offensive in their liberal eyes.:lmao: :rotfl2:

Good point Swedish We don't have to care if they think it is offensive.

Sincerely,

When I read such overconfidence, it only reaffirms my belief that they've totally bought into the "we have a Liberal mandate" bullcookies and are going to try and overreach big time. Man, the "fall into reality" over the next two years is going to be fun to watch!
