That's what I'm going to have to do because I'm so behind. I am studying to be an elementary teacher. I've been thinking about going into Special Education. My major is actually Liberal Studies . It's not what it appears, though. It just means studying a little bit of everything. It used to called an Elementary Education major. I don't know why they changed it.

It's 3am here and I am up with a sick child. She is the biggest cat lover you'll ever meet so I let her see some of these cat pictures posted here. We laughed ourselves silly. The Mission Accomplished picture with the fat cat had us laughing so hard my stomach hurt and I had tears running down my face. She was roaring with laughter.

I had to come and post what my teenager would call a post-election "face-palm" story. My hubby teaches at a local LIBERAL community college (he swears he's the lone conservative on campus). Yesterday one of his adult students asked if he voted, and then asked who he voted for. He told her, and then asked her the same questions. She replied that she'd voted for BO, and when dh asked why, she said, "Because he's all about change." Dh asked, "What kind of change?" and she spouted off the list of socialist programs he wants to implement. Dh then said, "And how do you think he's going to pay for those programs?" She said: "I don't know."

This then developed into a long discussion with her final comment being, "I voted for the wrong person."

Oh, good grief! YA THINK??!! Great..........just great........how many of the 52% were like this person. I shutter to think.

My preacher was saying the other day how he was on this beach one time. I don’t know which beach or what state, but he was on a beach and noticed a fence. He was confused for why there were be a fence built on a beach so he walked over. A sign posted on the fence stated that no one was allowed to walk on that area of the beach as there were baby sea turtle eggs developing. He said there was a fine (I want to say something as crazy as $40,000) if you were caught walking in this area, destroying the developing sea turtle eggs. He pointed out that you are punished for killing developing sea turtles but you aren’t for killing developing human beings. As he said: what’s wrong is right and what’s right is wrong in our society.

This reminds me of a bumper sticker I saw once......"Be a Hero, Save a Whale....Save a baby, go to Jail"

How is it that our society is so blinded to the hypocrisy. And turtle eggs are more important than human eggs. Unbelievable.

THE ACLU is protesting a religious concert that is part of the Thibodauxville festivities. However, the mayor returned their serve with a smack down.

Mayor Caillouet:
"Only government can violate constitutional provisions and the city does not sponsor Thibodauxville. The ACLU cannot protest what private sector does."

The ACLU is protesting on First Amendment grounds which prohibits government funding and promotion of one religion over another.

I think who Obama has already been appointing to his cabinet and who's in talks for other cabinet positions shows that the man is not about change. At all. Unless the change is about socialism, of course.

The Obama Administration will call on Americans to serve in order to meet the nation’s challenges. President-Elect Obama will expand national service programs like AmeriCorps and Peace Corps and will create a new Classroom Corps to help teachers in underserved schools, as well as a new Health Corps, Clean Energy Corps, and Veterans Corps. Obama will call on citizens of all ages to serve America, by developing a plan to require 50 hours of community service in middle school and high school and 100 hours of community service in college every year. Obama will encourage retiring Americans to serve by improving programs available for individuals over age 55, while at the same time promoting youth programs such as Youth Build and Head Start.

Oh, and only 74 more days until his inauguration.

I can see it now: BO will start requiring retirees to jump thru hoops (volunteer, join one of his many Corps) in order for them to get their social security checks. This is scary stuff people.

I called the Catholic school for my son yesterday, and he is now number 3 on the list for 2nd grade (next yr.) He has been on the list for two years, so I hope he will make it!

MILFORD, Conn. -- Barack Obama's former pastor, speaking Thursday at a forum about race and religion, criticized the media's coverage of a controversy that threatened to derail Obama's campaign and caused the president-elect to sever ties with his longtime spiritual leader.

The Rev. Jeremiah Wright Jr. said the media took videotaped clips out of context that showed him making anti-American statements from the pulpit of the Chicago church where Obama had worshipped for 20 years.

The videos, which included Wright thundering "God Damn America" from his pulpit, dominated cable television for weeks.

Wright, speaking to an audience of about 200 people at a Milford church, said he was trying to convey the anger and desire for vengeance that people felt following the terrorist attacks of Sept. 11, 2001. He said the media failed to explain that Wright was a proud Christian who was raised in a Christian home.

"Their intention was to use me as a weapon of mass destruction, to tear down that man's integrity," said Wright, former pastor of Trinity United Church of Christ in Chicago.

In a question-and-answer session with the audience, Wright said he didn't believe Obama shared opinions that were publicized on the video clips.

"Do you agree with everything your pastor says?" Wright asked. "Ninety percent of the people sitting in church don't agree with everything their pastor says. What I saw is not an index on what he did or does not believe."

Last spring's controversy was a stumbling block for Obama's campaign and prompted him to make an impassioned speech about faith and religion. Obama at first expressed support for Wright, saying that "I can no more disown him than I can my white grandmother."

But six weeks later during a speech at the National Press Club, Wright offered eyebrow-raising opinions about the U.S. government, praised Nation of Islam leader Louis Farrakhan and hinted that Obama was distancing himself from the pastor for political expediency.

The next day, Obama said he was outraged and distanced himself from Wright.

I'm a little confused...Rev Wright first tells us that the tapes are basically taken out of context [that's a lot of tapes, Rev Wright!] and he was misrepresented by them. That means he didn't want God to D___ America. So maybe the good rev is patriotic --

Interesting take on Emanuel as Chief of Staff -- [from the conservative townhall]

I hope Rahm Emanuel takes the Chief of Staff job though I am told by folks who know him that his ambition has always been to be Speaker of the House some day. To step out of the line of succession in order to serve the new president would be a sacrifice on his part, as chiefs-of-staff come and go and their marks on history are light if remembered at all. But as Bill Kristol noted on my show yesterday, Emanuel's "a Clinton Democrat who’s fought the left on quite a few issues." Krsitol continued:

He voted for the war in Iraq, he’s a free trader. I actually agree that this is a sign that of course it’s going to be a tough, political White House. What do you expect? But that Emanuel will try not to let them go over a cliff.



Not only keep them from the cliff, I think, but also help greatly to keep Presdent Obama focused on the war, because Emanuel will not only bring a patriot's zeal to that cause, but one backed by the knowledge that any successful attack on the US. will reintroduce the national security issue into American politics and to the great detriment of the Democrats. Bush's success in protecting the country after 9/11 has effectively returned us to a pre-9/11 politics when it comes to homeland security, but that could change in one terrible day. Emanuel is hopefully the sort of Chief of Staff who will continually work to keep the entire Administration focused on the threat from the jihadists.

Anyways, I was dumb and commented on a note on facebook by a "friend" that was bashing Palin. I said, "you do realize that you just voted for a man who is on tape TWICE as saying we have 57 states?" The friend's response was that he didn't believe that because it wasn't publicized! So now, because the MSM doesn't report on something, it's automatically not true??? Wow!
