Back later maybe. Gotta get off my but and clean the kitchen or something.

have a great friday y'all

Yeah, there are Republican that aren’t all that conservative that wasn’t so keen on Palin but the right conservative Republicans that have been the strong Republican base for years wasn’t too thrilled with McCain and it wasn’t until Palin was brought in that real energy began to develop in the party.

Absolutely! :thumbsup2

Whew! I just got through most of the new thread, and all I have to say is...y'all crack me UP! :lmao: :rotfl2: :lmao: LOVE the title! ;)

I'm finally adjusting to the whole thing. I loved the read by Morris (that's D. Morris, not the cat ;) . - this is probably the only group that I'd need to make that distinction :rotfl: )

Love the Ann Coulter quote disgal - I think I'll take her advice ;) .

Welcome to our new buddies! Hiya Brenda, nice to see ya here!

Honugirl, I'm going to a healing seminar all weekend - I'll pray for you chickie!

It's interesting that so soon after the election, I find a lot of us embracing and looking towards Reagan. I think this will be a trend over the next 4 years...there will be a backlash against radical leftist agendas. I think we needed this to find our way back to our TRUE conservative ideologies. Repeat after me....NO MORE RINOs!

Now, bring on the lasagna and the kittehs!!! :teeth:

:yay:

This is how I fee about the Palin trashing....

The day after the election...the FOX reporter who has been traveling with the McCain camp that was on Bill O pissed me off. Not that he was telling the news of what was relayed to him but how he was doing it. He could not say it loud enough or fast enough or with an attitude enough...

I thought gee either you really hate Palin or you are for Obama in disguise.....

He had no proof just running on hear say of some pissed off Rep that lost to Obama....IMO they needed a scape goat and instead of blaming themselves (the campaign) for not running a good campaign and doing there job right.... they are turning what was there fault on to Palin....that's how I see it.

Me thinks that they are worried that in the next election that if they don't blame someone else for there crappy JOB than no one will hire them .....I mean think of it....would you....I think not....you won't make the same mistake twice. So I don't think that this is all about Palin or McCain...it is about them.

Think about it.... Palin is very smart Woman and would not be where she is if she were not...so i find some of these accusations to be very questionable.

:cool1: Thanks Breezy! Much appreciated.

I'm going to be here off and on this weekend. I really just want to sleep in my own bed, but I have to housesit and deal with the most exasperating dog on the face of the planet. I'm exhausted, not having a good day, so I just hope the dog can RELAX and sleep today 'cause that's all I'm doing...

Anyone else near Seattle going to see Dr. Laura tomorrow? I'm so pumped! I've always wanted to see her "In my not so humble opinion show" and tomorrow's the day!!!!!!!!! Wooohooo!!!!!!!!!!!     :dance3: :woohoo: :woohoo:

From that school article:

"School district officials learned of the video late Thursday and were investigating the matter to determine if any disciplinary action was warranted, spokeswoman Wanda McPhaul said."

If?? If??!! I don't care if the teacher has been great all year and the parents don't care. I CARE that we don't have teachers like this in our schools. I was a very insecure child and if that would have happened to me, I would have been a puddle on the floor and later on I would have been angry. It was hard for me to stand up for myself then.......many kids are like this. And then, for a teacher that you love and trust to do that to you........Ugh!!

And I hate to tell the teacher, but OS think he's going to pull our military out of Iraq tomorrow............hate to break it to her. NOT!

You know, I thought the same thing. He was literally out of breath while he was saying it. I wasn't sure what to think. I usually think he's pretty fair but we got no names of who said what or when, it all seemed like rumor and "he said that she said and"......it left me quite nonplussed. (there's your word for the day........kind a like O'Reilly) :teeth:

YIKES you guys! I can't keep up! I don't want my butt to grow to the chair, so I'm not even going to try to catch up right now. Maybe later. In the meantime, good morning all. :flower3:

Since ya'll are meeting up at WDW I say me, Michelle, and honu (that's Hawai'ian for turtle, but I'm sure ya'll knew that  ) should meet up, considering we live in the same state. :thumbsup2

Sounds good to me. :) But ya know, Honu lives way on up there in Wacky Whatcom. Long drive. Guess she could hop a ferry, though. Hmmm. What could we go do? Pacific Science Center? Seattle does have some redeeming qualities...

We're supposed to be getting like five inches of rain here today. It's disgusting, gross and cold outside. Where oh where is the Messiah? :worship: Why has he not stopped all the storms here and made the sun come out? :confused3 I want sun dang it. I thought he wanted to change the world? Make him change the world and give me sun! :thumbsup2 :cool1: :rotfl2:

:lmao: :lmao: :lmao: :lmao: :lmao: :lmao: :lmao: :lmao: :lmao: :lmao: :lmao:

Sorry, I just couldn't help it.......

I tell ya. It has POURED here all day yesterday, all night long, and this morning. Right now it's just a misty drizzle. I'm amazed my back corner isn't a lake yet. Bet it's a marsh, though. Not walking down there to find out. There's a couple of goodly-sized ponds in my driveway. I need the rain to stop so I can go fill the low spots before we lose a car in one. Glad my house sits high on the property. I wore my hooded sweatshirt, letterman's style wool and leather Disneyland jacket and a floppy hat to take my kids to the bus stop this morning, and still felt damp and icky ten minutes later when I got back up to the house. I love the green growing things here, but some days the rain will wear on ya. At least it isn't windy, so the rain just falls down instead of driving sideways. That's a blessing.

Require??

I had a discussion with a young neighbor on this matter....BEFORE....the election. He has a 5yr old and an 11 yr old. He thought it was a great idea the schools were going to make his child care more and be a good person. I asked him why that wasn't his job. I also told him it was going to hurt a lot of kids that wouldn't be able to do community servce.....that it would keep them from graduating. He just repeated....he thought it as good the government was going to make his kids better citizens.:scared1: His wife sat behind him with her jaw hittin' the floor.

BTW...he thinks he's a republican.

This is part of the problem. Many young people do not know what socialism is. They were taught...in school...this was a good thing. It's scary. It's taking our country over bit by bit. The people think Senator Government can't hurt this country. They just wanted to punish the republicans. I have heard some were mad about the bailout and voted dem. It shows how the MSM was effective with their spin.

That's cool honugirl.......I like her to.........the literal straight talk express.

Hope you get some rest this weekend.

Another problem I have with abortion:

Research has proven that women who have an aborion increase their chance for breast cancer.

A lot of women who have abortions end up having psychological problems AFTER the abortion. They realize then what they did. I'm not saying that everyone does but it happens:
Important new evidence The most significant new evidence is that psychological ill effects have been shown to occur after abortion, even in women with no previous psychological problems.[3] This very important prospective longitudinal study followed up 500 New Zealand girls and young women from the time of their birth to 25 years of age. Each woman's mental health was measured at 16, 18, 21 and 25. Ninety reported having had an abortion, and these women experienced nearly twice the level of mental health problems as those who had either given birth or never been pregnant. They also had three times the risk of major depressive illness compared to the other groups. These results were statistically significant even after controlling for previous mental health.

There's a lot more if you want to read:

About that " Do you know anyone whos had an abortion?
Heres a fun light-hearted thread....:lmao: " thread

Yeah. Loads of laughs, huh?
Can you imagine what a serious, thoughtful thread would look like?:confused3

On Morning Joe today they talked about Palin and were defending her.
And saying that the people who were making the claims were fools.

Carl Cameron the reporter (I call him 'sleepy eyes';) ) is someone that I respected. But I have to agree with your opinion of his presentation of the information regarding Palin. I think he was just so happy to have an exclusive. But to hear him talk about it after it all sunk in, he seems to be adding a little questioning of the information that he is giving. I feel bad for him but I think if anyone would end up reporting the truth (meaning that it is yet to be found) he will.

My question is: Where the &#($)@# is McCain on this????? Why is he is not defending her???

Don't worry, I have some nice conservative (heaven knows how I found them in King County????) friends that live in Bellevue that I can stay with if we do something in Seattle. We could go to the Science Center. That would be fun. :thumbsup2 Or the zoo... I like the zoo!

I feel like I'm living in a swamp. We're flooding here. It's still pouring. I think the :hippie: like it though. They seem to be out in droves today...

That's cool honugirl.......I like her to.........the literal straight talk express.

Thanks! :cheer2: I think she's going to be really good. I think I'll learn something from her. If anything, it's going to be funny! :woohoo: :woohoo: :woohoo:

Time to deal with exasperation. I've put it off as long as I can. Sigh.

You all talk too much! I just spent the last hour reading this thread trying to catch up. :)
Hi everyone!

I just wanted to pop in and tell you all that some of your posts through this election has given me at least some feeling that not all of the country has gone completely bonkers!!!

I just wanted you all to know that I have been silently agreeing with you (okay maybe the occasional post lol...but not many...too chicken) for months.

Hopefully you guys don't mind if I join you over here for the next four years or so...I need a support group ... :sad1:
Welcome to our haven.

This is all yours- HANDS OFF everyone else!!:lmao:

Oh my word. My mouth watered when I saw this.

I'm in tears and in shock. A person I used to think was a friend of mine on a small message board I belong to just told me the reason I think new Chief of Staff Rahm Emanuel is a dirty, lowdown politician is because he's Jewish. AKA I'm an anti-Semite.

One of the main problems I have with Obama is I don't think he will support Israel at all. I have spent many years trying to promote pro-Israeli policies. I have many Jewish friends who have told me their stories of anti-Semitism they experienced. I've sat with them as they've cried about things said and done to them. I don't even refer to members of the Jewish religion as Jewish, I call them "my Jewish brothers and sisters." And yet now because I disagree with Obama, because I think Emanuel is a jerk, I'm an anti-Semite.

So I guess racist isn't the only word the sheeple will throw out at dissenters.

My blood pressure is up so high right now, I feel like I might pass out. :sad1:
Hugs SD - we're your friends here. Stick with us.

Well, I have a tumor on my pituitary gland which is causing Cushing's Disease.
I will say a prayer for you. Hugs.

Require??
No way in HELL am I going to let my kids be indoctrinated by THE ONE. They are in a Catholic school now and if I have to home school them, I will.

I wonder which Corp I will be put in. I hope the uniform is pretty.
I wouldn't mind a cute skirt - right above the knee. As long as it's fashionable...

(I want to barf).

OH! I don't remember if I posted this yesterday, so if I did, please forgive me. Yesterday our paper had a very long editorial - I'll post the first few sentences here....
"The audacity of hope....

I go to bed tonight, for the first time in four years, with the hope of a brighter future. Tonight, I will dream, in a way I haven't dared in so long, of a better world. And tomorrow, I will wake up knowing it could actually be true." It goes on to praise THE ONE - it's totally kool-aid.

My husband, someone who doesn't pay attention to the news at all, read the first few lines and said, "What kind of kool-aid is she drinking?" It totally suprised me as that's something I thought I would never hear from him.

Anyway, I want to write in to the paper:

In response to Jane's (let's call her that) editorial on Thursday, November 6, 2008...

BARF

Meghan's Mommy
My Town

DH won't let me do it here since he's one of the town's doctors and he doesn't want people talking about us (we're in a very Democratic town), but he laughed. Oh well.

Today the kids have the day off and one of them woke up and started vomiting this morning. He hasn't vomited for a few hours and is feeling better though, so I'm not sure if it was just a fluke, or if he's really sick.

Have a great day everyone!

Wow, this thread moves at lightning speed; been lurking a bit while I get my game face back on after Tues... Anyway, given that I live in a very liberal city in an otherwise conservative state, it's nice to know that ya'll are here. That's it, just wanted to say hi, and join the conversation.

What is wrong with you people?? Trying to keep up with this thread is like watching a monkey on crack.

About that " Do you know anyone whos had an abortion?

I haven't gone near that thread today or last night, but I read it when it was fresh and so far (then) it was calm and respectful. I am pretty sure that light hearted comment was meant sarcastically, or ironically.
