Toby: Toby grinned, "I really wish I could see it as an adventure, but I don't think that would work. But you and Max have a great time." Toby wondered again what Max's relationship was with her father. What was this phone call that he missed.

Alex: Alex grinned turning back to look forward,"I'm positive we will. Just wait, one day I'll get you to do it as well."

Jack: Jack hearing him protectively put an arm around Alex's waist and glared at Daniel before continuing their walking.

Alex: Alex blushed madly at Jack but turned her head to look at Daniel with a sad smile,"I'm sorry Daniel. I'll control myself better."

Toby: Toby stood behind Alex and Jack and had a weird mix of emotions. He knew that he was just Alex's friend, but for the past few weeks he was the one who comforted and protected her, and he didn't like Jack taking this over. He loved Alex, and wanted to protect her from people like Jack, not get them closer, though Jack had been acting nicer lately. Especially to Alex, but Toby was bad about holding grudges.

Toby: "you keep telling me that. If I try everything you say you're going to get me to try I think I'll go crazy" he said with a grin.

Toby: Toby stood behind Alex and Jack and had a weird mix of emotions. Jack: Jack wrapped his arm around Alex tighter earning himself a true smile on his face as he and Alex walked. Alex and hhe had gotten closer over the school time and he was actually glad for it, sure he only spoke to a few people and he was almost sure he wouldn't always be this kind, but Alex was happy so everything was fine. That is, until Alex walked out of his grip and went back to walk next to Toby where she gave him a small smile and waved him forward, telling him to go on.

Alex: Alex waved Jack forward telling him to go on to which he did and she smiled, at least he was listening to her. She walked by Toby humming a song happily but other than that said nothing.

Toby: "you keep telling me that. If I try everything you say you're going to get me to try I think I'll go crazy" he said with a grin.

Alex: Alex grinned an stopped humming before shrugging,"You gotta live life to the fullest while we're still young! And if we go crazy when we get older? I think that's a great cost to having a memorable life."

Toby: Toby couldn't help feeling happy when Alex left Jack's arm and joined him. Toby smiled at Alex "while when you look at it that way it does make sense. But I really think that there a lot of things I need to do before I jump of a cliff." Then he paused his eyes focusing on Jack in front of them, his mind wandered leaving him staring without even realizing it.

Alex: Alex giggled and nodded her head,"Alright then! We'll do a lot of other cool things and then we will go cliff diving. No backing out either bub!" She smiled before she noticed his staring making her roll her eyes and nudge him playfully,"Take a picture it'll last longer."

Alex: Alex nodded in understanding watching as the grass was slowly mixing with sand. She looked back up to Toby and tilted her head slightly to the side,"What were you thinking so hard about bestie?" She smiled almost teasingly at him but she did want an answer to see if she could help with anything.

Alex: Alex's entire face and neck quickly became a crimson red and she looked forward to see Jack a little way ahead of them so he couldn't hear them. She turned back to Toby with her mouth open and closing almost like a fish. "I....um...I--I do--n--y--I--I mean," She stammers over her words with her heart beating erratically and her blush getting deeper. "I suppose maybe I have...a....crush on him," She mumbles only barely loud enough for him to hear while looking at the ground and letting her bangs hide her face. She didn't know how he was going to react, it wasn't exactly the best thing. How does telling your practically big brother you like the school's jerk ever good?

Toby: Toby realized he shouldn't have asked, it was really Alex's place to tell him. He put his hand on her shoulder stopping her and wrapped her in a hug. "hey, I'm sorry, I shouldn't have asked" he said quietly into her ear. He pulled away from her and looked at her. "I don't get to pick you like, I wish I could, but I can't. Just promise me you won't let him hurt you. Be careful?"

Just promise me you won't let him hurt you. Be careful?"

Alex: Alex sighed into the hug and smiled at him when he pulled away while nodding her head. "I'll be careful, I won't let him hurt me. I promise," She said getting on her toes and kissing his cheek. Once flat on her feet she smiled at him appreciatively again,"Thanks Toby. For everything. You're the greatest." Feeling the moment is too emotional she pushes his shoulder gently and laughs a bit,"Geez, I guess I sounded like a little girl right then huh?"

Jack: Jack turned around to see he had walked a bit ahead of everyone and instantly saw Alex laugh and say something making him smile. He looked at Toby and scowled a bit, he looked like he had just done something wrong and it seemed it might have been to Alex. Jack sat down in a patch of flowers waiting for everyone instead of getting up himself.

Alex: Alex sighed into the hug and smiled at him when he pulled away while nodding her head. "I'll be careful, I won't let him hurt me. I promise," She said getting on her toes and kissing his cheek. Once flat on her feet she smiled at him appreciatively again,"Thanks Toby. For everything. You're the greatest." Feeling the moment is too emotional she pushes his shoulder gently and laughs a bit,"Geez, I guess I sounded like a little girl right then huh?"

Alex: Alex smiled and shook her head,"I know you'll be there for me, you're my big brother." She grinned cheekily and started walking again, waving at Jack making him laugh and her smile. "I wonder what the people back in Washington are doing," She thought out-loud thinking about her old orphanage and the children in it.

"that's true, its weird, since we got here I havn't really thought about my hometown and the people in it. Is that bad?" he said with a laugh. "what do you think the people in Washington are doing."

"that's true, its weird, since we got here I havn't really thought about my hometown and the people in it. Is that bad?" he said with a laugh. "what do you think the people in Washington are doing."

Alex: Alex laughed and shook her head,"No, it's not bad. This place is so incredible it's like the is our home." She thought for a moment and shrugged,"I don't think anyone is doing anything exciting. The younger kids are going to school, older kids either going to school or their job, and maybe they're still worried about me a little. I left them a note but it wasn't very detailed, I didn't even give them my real name." She chuckled thinking of when she had to make a fake folder for herself when she was only ten.

She chuckled again before saying lowly as no one can hear,"Since I started running away to different orphanages, some put up papers and such saying I was missing. When I was ten I learned how to make an orphan's folder that had all the information and made myself a new person. Now, I'm only missing in two states. The others have an Emily Johnson missing."
