The cheapest cheapest cheapest way to do Disney from the UK

How much you can do will also depend on when you go. We generally go late Sept/early Oct and most rides are a 5min wait (if any). We have been in peak season at Christmas and Easter and there have been over 2hr waits for some attractions.

There are definitely deals and bargains to be had. I had to buy Universal and Discovery Cove tickets this year and i did lots of shopping around. The difference between the worst price and the best price i found was £26pp. That was over £100 for our party.

Well there you go then, am going 1st two weeks of oct as I researched expected crowds plus rides are open during MNSSHP so can do some then. I have no doubt some people will continue to argue as to whether or not you can "do" Disney in 14 days or not but I don't care. At the end of the day, we'll hopefully have a good holiday and will tick it off as somewhere we've "done". The world's too big a place to go back time and time again. Sorry to all those who disagree with me but hey, you can't please all the people all the time! ;)

:thumbsup2 Totally agree with this .... we've been too many times that I'd like to admit too and we've no way seen everything. Ok so we've "done" the Disney parks, except for the stuff introduced since we were last there of course, but we've not visited all of the resorts or eaten in all the restaurants. We've never done any of the things you can book with Robert Duvall (?) We've not been to Seaworld for AGES (hoping to rectify that next trip :goodvibes), nor have we visited Universal or KSC for ages either.

BTW: I quoted the wrong post Vanda I meant to quote the one where you said it's not possible to do everything in 14 days

My daughter hired a Skyracer (?) from Fort Wilderness last year and enjoyed it so much she went back this year. Its very quiet up there and the guy taking the money is really nice and extends your time and this year we used the voucher we had from booking via WDW and he gave it back to us incase she wanted to go again as it was a once only voucher. Also did a horse ride from FW, booked via concierge at the hotel which was fun. It is so far removed from the Disney bubble up there its like a different world. Would love to stay in a cabin but its so expensive for just two.

It has been a long time since we stayed off-site but we always enjoyed it. I think on-site stays especially at a deluxe can spoil you a little, but honestly, before I did that, we stayed in a cheap motel on US 192 and loved it just as much.

I also think a non-disney (park) trip is a good idea because you tend to miss out on so many other things.

Tips for saving money....

Fly indirect

Join Avios - collect points through the year with your clubcard and always try to make any purchases that you were going to make with an Avios retailer to get the points. Use the points for car hire or car parking at the airport etc.

Join Quidco - same as above, I never buy anything that I don't get points or cashback for :rotfl2:

Buy the cheapest non-swim on offer for Discovery Cove and get the 14 passes for Seaworld, Busch, Aquatica. We did this this year, we paid £104 each with attraction tickets direct and got 14 day tickets to those and free Legoland too. Added bonus is your day at DC is all inclusive so thats 2 meals you don't have to buy.

Sign up for local restaurant sites to get coupons, chain places like Ponderosa, Sizzler, IHop, Olive Garden etc. offer good value.

Many of the US 192 motels have their own websites and you can book direct cheaper than through a travel agent. We really like Extended Stay and have used them across the US without a problem.

It is possible to do FL on the cheap if you put in the time to find the deals and honestly, it isn't that much more expensive than some of the holidays in Europe.

See as has been previously said it's just not possible to do EVERYTHING in 14 days.

We've never even been to FW :guilty: .... what a shocking thing to admit ::yes:: or the Polynesian, Coronado Spring, Contemporary, SSR, OKW, any of the All Stars, AOA, POP, Caribbean Beach .... OMG :crazy2: ....... will just have to visit soooooo many more times to rectify this :rotfl2::rotfl2:

Try the parasailing at Sammy Duvalls if you get chance - its amazing :cloud9:

The Trail Ride at Fort Wilderness is a nice way to relax too as edinburghlass said.

I love exploring the other things Disney has to offer and other things in Florida :goodvibes

We have never visited either of the PO resorts or POP or AoA....

FW is great to explore especially around Halloween and Christmas as the "Campers" (some of those RVs are more luxerious than the GF :rotfl: ) decorate their sites.

Hoop Dee Doo is great if you fancy a reason to visit. We have had takeaway from Trails End too which is good popcorn::

you will have a good holiday. Its a bit of an insult coming on here though, a WDW forum, and telling us the world is too big a place to go to the same place time and time again!! You have no idea of what the 'regulars' have done in their lives. I for one am extremely well travelled. WDW is a place we just come back to because we can. And yes I will continue to argue the point of the meaning of 'DONE'. I for one have never used the phase of 'I've done' to a place I've been before. Its just that, 'a place I have been'! We shall hopefully agree to disagree on this one shall we:)

WOW! Seems I'm getting a right ticking off today!! Lol!! Disney will be happy to know they have such loyal customers am sure!! Hahahahahahaha!!

That is on my list to do this year..saw a you tube video of it and thought it looked fantastic.:thumbsup2

And QueenDisney, of course we can agree to disagree on it. To anyone who felt insulted by anything I've posted on here, you truly do have my sincerest apologies. My aim was never to insult, merely to point out the fact that people have their own interpretations. I never meant to cause any argument. I am sure there is plenty to do in Disney other than just rides and shows which is what people think of at the mention of Disneyworld. I never said anyone wasn't well-travelled merely that some go back time and time again which is great, you're Disney fans, why shouldn't you? Personally, we take one trip a year and spend a fortune on making it the best ever so we don't have to go back and can see somewhere else the year after. What works for us isn't for everyone but everyone could say the same. I'm only on this forum to gain advice and knowledge so I can make my son's every dream come true until next year when I take him to Lapland for Christmas.

I disagree that a first timer can't do it all in 14 days!! We're going for 14 days and we're doing Disney parks minus Typhoon Lagoon and Blizzard Beach, we're doing both Universal parks, we're doing MNSSHP, we're doing Discovery Cove with Dolphin Swim and Seaworld with Dine with Shamu, we're doing Medieval Knights at Kissimee, we're doing Legoland and we're doing an adventure day excursion through Thomson swimming with Manatees and visiting Homassa State Park!! And we've got 2 free days!!

I agree there is no way you will be able to do all of that stuff properly. Well do it and enjoy it and not be ridiculously tired anyway. We only did Disney and Universl/ IoA, and 2 days shopping at Florida Mall and the Premium Outlets and we were stuck for time. There was loads we didn't get to do, and we weren't even trying to do everything in the parks. By the time you factor in travel times and everything you lose a lot of time, especially if you aren't staying on Disney property. We stayed at POFQ and even with the free buses and boats etc. travelling still took so much time. Then there are queues to factor in aswell, some of the rides that you think wouldn't have a queue sometimes have the biggest, like Peter Pan's Flight, which was the worst ride I went on but always had a massive line and that was in May when it was relatively quiet.

If you have Tesco vouchers you can exchange these for airmiles we have just cashed in a load and bought our tickets: We also have a Tesco credit card so we get more vouchers that way along with a virgin credit card which gets us airmiles.

1 adult and 1 child ticket on airmiles paying taxes
1 adult and 2 child tickets on miles plus money.
Flights into Miami for 5 for £2100

4 bed house at Eagle Pointe for £1100 we stayed in this area the last time we went and found the drive to the parks perfectly ok, and quicker than what some people report on their bus rides.

We have three small children so we eat in the house a bit as they get a bit bored with eating out. So we save a bit of money by doing that.

However that said £5500 is less than we will spend all up so you might be pushing it.

Kirsten

we've found the cheapest way is to book a villa separately places such as from homeaway.co.uk - you get your own private pool and its a short easy drive to all the main attractions.

you can save money self catering but you dont have to and its the only way as a family we have been able to go and this is normally with 6/7 adults.

That's our must do for next trip. DD has finally agreed that she will go with me so it's a done deal. :cool1: I'm so excited. Have you tried it Tracy?

Another nice relaxing and fairly inexpensive activity is a carriage ride around the Port Orleans resorts. You pay for the carriage, not per person so for a party of 4 or if you are a couple and can find another couple to share with you (easily done) it's something nice and different for very little outlay :)

My kids did the tandem parasail a couple of weeks ago on Bay Lake. 600 feet high for 12 minutes. It was their favourite part of the holiday. You will love it.

This sounds amazing! Dh and I are wanting to do it next trip, I'm hoping I can get the boys to go up with ha and do it as I think they would live it once up there :)

Yes, I did it a couple of years ago and want to do it again. Hopefully next year as Chloe will be old enough to fly then as well.

I have to say book in the morning and early on in your trip and it can be affected by the weather and has quite strict parameters.

The views are amazing :goodvibes

Wayne also bought Matt a parasail flight for his 18th birthday last year and he really enjoyed it too :thumbsup2
