That is one thing I haven't quite got yet. I wanted to take night-time pics at DL, but the first time I tried (of the castle at night, beautiful!) they were super blurry. So I bought this cool tripod that is small and has these bendable legs that can wrap around lightpoles and such, very cool. OK for fireworks (if you don't ever need to move the camera!) or shots of the castle, but not terribly helpful for other nighttime shots. :(

So you're saying I should carry TWO cameras... :lmao:

Well the Alison Theory of Photography is to forget the camera or the charger or memory card....and then buy a $3 disposable camera for $20 at a DL gift showp, which odds are takes way better photos than my expensive digital camera that I can't seem to figure out anyway.;)

So for those of you more knowledgeable about APs than I (Which should be just about anyone)... :rolleyes1

Our APs are going to expire soon, I think around Oct. 4 or 5. (That's when we had our first trip with APs.) So I got this email, and then a postcard in the mail, letting me know that if I renewed the APs before expiration, they'd take $20 off the renewal cost of each AP, so for us, it would save $80.

BUT... we're not going to DL until Dec. 5, so is that a waste of money, considering that I could just get new APs in Dec., and they'd be good again until Dec.?

I went with the 2nd theory. My AP's expired in June, and I let them, I will buy new ones this trip. I will also let Alec's expire, and buy him a new one hopefully in January.

I used to use disposable all the time, especially when we went to Maui. I got the underwater ones, too. I didn't want anything expensive that I'd have to leave on the beach when we went snorkeling, so I bought like 8 disposable cameras for the trip. The pics came out pretty well, too. Well, the U/W ones came out very green until I figured out what looked bad, and therefore where to shoot to look good. :rotfl:

Alright, they do have my 2 kiddos on the reservation. I really want bunk beds or at least a day bed, but then again I am guessing there might be a lot of requests for king size beds that weekend :rolleyes1 :lmao:

Depends on who wants to sleep on top!;) :scared1: :rotfl2:

The only good thing about renewing the AP's at DL is if you renew them on a "blackout" day then you get to go in on that day. Of course you don't get the discount, but it's cheaper than paying for blackout tickets.

I did that the last time I was there in May. My AP was going to expire in June, so I flew in on Friday night, renewed on Saturday (so didn't have to buy a blackout ticket for that day).

thank you Alison! Do they ever have coupons for disposable cameras. I want to get an underwater type and I keep forgetting to purchase that.

So if I'm understanding right (and since I didn't ask my real question properly):
If I renew my AP before it expires, it will THEN expire again around Oct. 4, 2009, correct? It has nothing to do with our next trip, which is in Dec.? I just want to make sure of that.

I'm thinking if we really like going in Dec., we might like to do that again next year. Of course, next year we'd have to go in late Nov... Hmm... Bit of a pickle.

I think I've seen some Fuji coupons before. I usually check my local drugstore. The ones without flash are really inexpensive and with all the sun in Florida seem to work pretty good, those are usually the ones I give to the kids. But I usually get at least 1 underwater one and 1-2 with flash for dark places and at night.

It's kind of fun to give them to the kids. It's amazing what photos they will take and kind of neat to see their perspective on what they think looks cool. Of course don't be surprised to get a few garbage can or vending machine pic's. Don't ask me why my kids always take pic's of those, but they do!:rotfl2:

Correct - you would keep the same expiration date

Can you go the 2nd week of December this year???

Yikes! Gotta run.

I am taking a bunch of DS8's new jeans into the dry cleaners to have them looked at by the seamstress there. We talked yesterday when I dropped off DH's shirts.

DS' jeans have button at the top rather than a snap or hook. For some reason (and it may be related to problems with fine motor skills, I don't know) DS cannot button/unbutton these, so they are totally useless unless we're going somewhere with me/DH all day so we can help him when he needs to use the bathroom. :rotfl:

So I talked with her about changing out the button to either a snap or hook (and I'll bring one of each of the other types to show her), and she didn't seem to think it would be any trouble at all to fix.

I need to pick up DS4 from preschool after that, so I'd better scoot!

That's a great idea, why didn't I think of that? I should get one or two for DS8 at least. DS4 would love one, too, but he goes "snap snap snap snap" and then it's all done. :rotfl:

Hmmm, that's what I figured/was afraid of. :(

I chose the earlier week that didn't have blackouts (and I have AP7 rates at the hotels, I doubt I could get those if I tried to switch dates now.)

Thank you, dizzy!

Morgans got a tinkerbell camera but a disposable for Jake would be a great idea. I think the waterproof ones wer like $9.00 at Target. Does that sound right. I want this for Typhoon Lagoon.
