And a big thank you to Bernice for reminding me to finish up the laundry. Not that I can really forget, I sit here in the family room staring at the laundry room that is about 5 feet away.

Maybe but the laundry gods are truly mean... one of our washing machines is out of order.. it will take forever to finish all my laundry.

Thank the laundry gods.. I'm not doing mine Hubby didn't want to help.. so I said fine, not doing any laundry today. We made the boys do a load of their own. No stinky unders thanks.

I know, I've been waiting for someone to say something else funny so I can change it...but our thread has been rather slow lately. But it makes me laugh every time I post, so until something else puts a smile on my face I guess it will have to stay.

(OK, that was weird, I didn't touch a thing and the headache smilie popped up there).

We could have used you here tonight then...DH made a HUGE pan of mashed potatoes. Now he knows my rule of 1 potato per person, plus 1 extra.

Guess what we did tonight, went down and picked up DS's instrument so he can start band. We have a drummer in the family!

They only allow 5 drummers in the band, and of course 75% of the boys want to be drummers! I knew from previous experience with DD...she wanted to play the saxaphone, but they only allow so many and she got stuck with the clarinet and hated it from Day 1. So I emailed the band teacher today and complained...told him I didn't want to waste money again on an instrument that he wouldn't play. It worked like a charm, he got picked to play the drums! I'm done being a nice, quiet, compliant parent (as if I ever was!), the squeaky wheel gets the grease (or a loud noisy snare drum).

Have you thought about getting a truck? Just throw all the laundry in the back and run it thru the car wash. $5 and 2 minutes and it's washed. Then drive really fast down the freeway and it's dry! You can also put dirty, non-showering boys in the back as well.

Yes, Pix probably has a bunch of spiders she can dip in chocolate and send to you. Have you tried nuts? NO, NOT THAT KIND, I KNOW WHAT YOU'RE THINKING, GET YOUR MIND OUT OF THE GUTTER!!! When I was doing chemo they had me eat lots of nuts because they are high in protein and fats, very filling, but full of good oils. I used to buy huge bags of almonds from Costco and eat them all the time. Plus with an upset stomach meat tasted bleechy, but nuts I could tolerate.

Ha...DD plays the electric guitar...with the amp nice and loud...she has played for 3 years now....(I have to admit she is good.) but holy cow...

I'm so going to learn to play them also. I love music. I played the trumpet when I was in jr. high, but then got tired of it and switched to choir. I sang in choir clear thru high school. Anyway, he got his music book tonight so I was teaching him some basic music reading. Can you tell I'm excited! I think when DD got her clarinet I played it more than she did.

When I was in Jr. High a friend of mine was taking piano lessons, her mother worked late, so I went over after school and watched her taking piano lessons. When the teacher left, I paid my friend 25 cents and she let me play the piano, after all I sat thru her lesson and listened to the teacher, so I knew what to do. It worked really well for about a year until her mother found out, called my mother and complained that she was paying big bucks for piano lessons and I was learning the same thing from her daughter for 25 cents a week! Sadly that was the end of my piano lessons until DD was in pre-school and started piano lessons. Well you guessed it, I used her book and started teaching myself to play again!

Costco has really good bags of raw almonds, they are very tasty, not salted or anything.
