financial advisor, sorry...wasn't thinking...we just say..call fa, tell fa, ask fa..blah, blah, blah

Gina, that is what we were thinking too. I mean forget the $16 or so grand to get the min amount of points but its the maint fees each year that add up. :scared1:
it comes out to over $42,000 dollars:scared1: now call me crazy but when this little contract is over I will be 90...I am going to go out on a limb here but I am guessing that when I hit 70, I am not going to want to visit to often..so I think we are going to look for resales at old key west...less time but I will still have many years...

another thing to think about. when we bite that big set of ears in the sky, we are going to leave a debt with the fees to the kids..not good..(well, it will come out of the money they will get)

Our cat gets very cuddly and clingy when we get the suitcases out. Normally she sleeps a lot during the day, but if the suitcases are out, she's either in one, trying to get in one, or hanging on your leg. :lmao:

Now, if I get the cat carrier out, she is nowhere to be found. I mean it, I CANNOT FIND HER ANYWHERE! She's had a few good hiding spots that had us searching the entire house for about 15 minutes! :rotfl:

Yes, I forget what all the stages of grief are, but I'm in the resignation phase. :rotfl:

Sam's just laying in the middle of them. If she gets inside one I'm screwed. She weighs over 100lbs. :scared1: :lmao: I have to wait til she wants to come out.

Awww, I shoulda known that one after all! :rotfl:

I asked our FA about DVC when we got back from our last trip, and he said it wasn't a good idea. But the reasons he gave weren't ones I necessarily agreed with, so I still wasn't sure.

He said it ties you into vacationing at one location, and from what the DVC person told me, that wasn't true; you can apply points to many different vacation spots around the world, and they're not even just Disney vacations.

And he gave the example of the "Snooze you lose" scenario, that if you can't use the points, you lose them. I know you can sell them, but maybe not for what you paid? I dunno.

I think we are unlike most vacationers who like to go to different spots. We have two favorite vacation spots, and this is mainly because DH likes to know what he's getting when he goes. We stick with the tried and true! It would take something major to get that man to agree to go to... oh, say Mexico, or Europe, or even the east coast! :rotfl:

Yikes but sounds about right too. those fees are crazy and do they still tell you they can go up so that figure might be even higher if the maint fees rise?

I know your 2 spots......:rolleyes1

Then he yelled out "Gentlemen, lets all play like Jake has today, give 110%"

wow! I love when teachers/ coaches do that. Makes the kids day and the parents too :goodvibes

Good Morning Sweet Hyenas! I hope everyone starts the day with a smile on their face and a song in their heart.:) :) :)

I also want to say how fortunate I am to have you all as friends. It's easy to take those around us for granted, but you really are a great bunch of ladies.:grouphug:

You'll have to forgive my sappiness this week. Obviously meeting with a large group of breast cancer survivors has brought some feelings to the surface and once again made me realize how lucky I am in so many ways.
This week I feel very energized and have this urge to do cartwheels down the hallway in my office building (yes, I've done that before!).

So everyone have a Beautiful Day! :flower3: :flower3: :flower3: :hippie:

I like your greetings, sappy and all... I can just imagine your smile and the cartwheels :cutie: I missed your fiesty spirit filled posts the last few weeks, glad to see you "back" again. :flower3:

You ARE an impressive group of women. I was thinking the other day about why I seem to connect with one person, not with another. Especially when, at least on the surface, the one I didn't connect with seems to have more in common with me than the other. :confused3

I think, at least for me, it has to do with:
Intelligence ~ You are all very intelligent. Sometimes we get into some deep subjects, and you all speak well and from the heart.
Humor ~ OMG, you make me laugh! Some days it means the most to me.
Heart ~ I'm not sure quite how to say it, but you are THERE for one another. You care, you try, and you support one another.

OK, there's my sappy moment for the day. :rotfl:

Have a great day, everyone! :yay:

Not sure about the "speaking well" for me.. I kinda suck at that
But yes the humor and heart-- that's what draws me back to all of you.

Alex, dont read my ticker :woohoo:

:lmao:

LOL! The problem with that is that if I ship one, by the time the package arrives there may be hundreds inside! :scared:

ewwwwwwwwwwwwwwwww, shudder. I don't mind bugs, just not a whole bunch at one time. :scared: I loved having bug jars in the classroom, scooping up any we found inside (spiders, ants, a grashopper that was stuck in the wall driving us nuts at nap time until I coaxed it out)

We had a baby rabbit that snuck into our room, not sure how that happened. Found it on a monday morning hiding behind some blocks.
Put it in a box to keep it safe from little hands, told parents we had a surprise visitor and asked them to peek.. had a few parents that were very afaid to look, thinking I had captured a mouse (like I would show that??? eww). They all went awwww poor lil thing, when they peeked in the box.

We had a hard time getting rid of the bunnies that season, they kept climbing in the toddler play house to nest. Take them out and place further away under a tree.. they would come back the next day. Health hazard with lice, droppings and attracting other animals. Finally the director packed them all up and let them go out in the woods far away.

disney is doing a dvc in hawaii also...how cool is that...I just have a hard time tossing 42 grand out the window

Shucks, just shake the garbage can a little, she'll come runnin'! :rotfl2:

yes...that amount he gave us was based on the fees never going up.(which we all know they will)

We can still get several days from a smaller one, and will get the ap cheaper etc...and don't forget we already get a sweet deal on the rooms..

DH was heart broken when I told him. I did talk with one at a resale place and told him what we are looking for..and he said as soon as he gets one he will call me asap...I told him it would be a cash deal and that seemed to make him happy...

can you imagine...50 years of paying someone to mow and take out the trash...and maybe paint ever few years...get on it

Yeah, at the Grand Wailea, which is the nicest, most expensive hotel in Maui. Simply gorgeous, right on the beach, I doubt we'd ever be able to stay there, but we dream. :lovestruc

If we can't find Poly , we open the cabinet door where her food is stored. She comes running from her hiding spot, stretching, yawning and meowing all at the same time.

Shoot Gina, some of my good friends just sold their OKW. I think they had like 3 contracts that fell through before they finally got rid of it. This was just months ago. I could have hooked you up with them. They loved it but saw in the long term that it just wasnt what they wanted. All the money they spent per year they said they could have easily gotten a good code and gone down for twice as long as what they were paying in DVC. Plus they never cooked a meal in the kitchen. :rolleyes1 :lmao:

we are staying at one of the out riggers...I have to look to see which one...I have been told they are nice but even with our half off I think they are expensive...

I am betting they had more points than we want to buy:sad1:
