The bus...

:thumbsup2 I have been reading this thread since it began, and this post pretty much summarizes my feelings on this issue.

However, I do believe my goat and its bags are entitled to seats, as well as being able to pool hop and use last year's cups this time around. :rotfl2::rotfl2:

In all seriousness, I am one of those with a hidden medical issue (chf) and I hope I don't get judged because I don't give up my seat if I got there first, after waiting in line for my turn to get it. I plan on renting a wc or ecv while in the park but I think I can walk and stand while waiting for the buses. DBF will gladly give up his seat though, in the mindset that if he gives his seat up this time, I might get offered one the next time around. If I get on a full bus I do not expect someone to give me a seat though. :goodvibes

I'm sorry, but according to the people on the Dis, your goat and his bags are NOT entitled to a seat, however it is possible that your goat and HER bags are entitled to a seat. It would all depend on where the person in the seat is from. One of those born in the north vs born in the south kind of things. I found it hard to follow.:3dglasses

Now the mug thing...... I'm sorry I just can't allow that.

I would like to suggest that when you do board a bus you wear a tee shirt that boldy states your medical condition (nevermind that pesky HIPPA law-other guests have a RIGHT to know, so they can judge you properly;)). Failing that make sure you bring a complete set of your medical records (and copies for everyone on the bus) so that total strangers with little or no medical training can determine if you really NEED that seat, because clearly they are much better at judging:dance3:

Just a thought, but if your goat had a stroller.......... I will have to get back to you on that one:goodvibes

In short, go and enjoy your vacation. Take responsibility for yourself and your loved ones. And no stare downs LOL (Goats don't blink, do they?)

I won't judge you :goodvibes. I don't remember ever judging anyone for not giving up their seat. I do believe its the right thing to do (give up a seat for someone needier), but there's no way that I could really know how much someone needs a seat, and it sounds like you really need one. Even if I knew that someone didn't really "need" a seat, I doubt that I would judge him or her.

I agree, before I got sick I would without question give up my seat. Heck, if I saw someone needier than me right now and I was ok to stand, I would give up my seat. :goodvibes

Hope you have a great trip! We'll be down during the same time. I bet we won't have any bus issues :rotfl:. As I remember, POP does a good job managing the buses. I was very impressed both times we stayed there.

Oh and just to clarify-under no circumstances can your goat bring a full refillable mug on the bus because THAT would be rude:rotfl2:

How rude of you to judge my goat and assume there is in fact soda under a closed lid, You do not know my goats life an his circumstances.:rotfl:

Oh, for God's sake.

People who don't normally ride the bus need to learn how the bus works: Sometimes you gotta stand. If you have to take your kid on the bus, your kid might have to stand. If they're too little to stand, you gotta hold them.

The bus leaves when the bus leaves. It doesn't wait for you - you wait for it.

If you don't like the bus, drive or take a cab. If you can't afford a car or a cab, live with the bus.

To be fair, I did not say "soda" (I would not want to judge your goat based on where he comes from-some places call it pop LOL).

I will say, I understand your goat may have a need. But the bottom line is it your job as the "adult" to meet the need. Don't expect me to fill the mug for your goat:goodvibes

And I am sorry you goat has had a hard life:flower3: (something for him to snack on).

Anyone want to call this thread? :scared1:

`

What if her goat was in the stroller? and she had a couple more "kids" :rotfl2:
with her? .........

Nope, goat in the stroller doesn't matter. DOT regs state all strollers MUST be empty and folded on a bus. And her "kids" are her responsibility;)

This is a first on the Dis. Instead of "beating a dead horse" on a thread, we are "kidding a live imaginary goat":lmao:

OK, but how to handle a starring goat, esp. when in revange it starts dripping soda/pop on you.:confused3

I guess because I had my kids so close in age, I am a bad mother to them or because I had too much stuff, do you ever stop to think about what you are saying, or that you dont know the whole story, like the fact that my husband had cancer, and THATS why I had to have them so close together, so I COULD HAVE THEM!!! If there was no room to sit I would have gotten off and waited and I DID more than once, I would NEVER endanger my children for a simple bus ride at disney, what an ignorant mean assumption!!!! I am aware my kids are my responsibility, trust me!! and I am so thankful to the people that didnt FLAME or or JUDGE me for having kids 11 months apart because they didnt know the whole story as to why.... I am not sure why you felt the to say the things you did... I never felt someone should give up their seat ... I simply said they always did and I was grateful!!!!!!:headache::headache:

Just in case you are not aware, lots of people have kids who are 11 months apart in age, for many reasons. Its actually pretty common and is certainly not something others would care enough about to judge you for.

I'm not sure what set off the outburst here with all the exclamation points and
ALL CAPS... :confused3 :rolleyes1

Somewhere about 4 pages back I think, (this may have gotten deleted or edited), I am paraphrasing because I can't find it now, someone stated that it wasn't their fault that "smalltowngirl" decided to "breed" her kids so close together, etc. It got ugly fast.....

Would this shirt suffice?:

"You can have my seat, as soon as I get my heart transplant. Don't be giving me the stink eye!!" :rotfl2:
(Yes, I am making light of it because I have to for my own sanity. I can either laugh or cry about it, and I don't look cute with puffy eyes and runny mascara.)

My goat is actually really well behaved. She won't drip soda on anyone or cause a scene, but if it makes everyone happy, I can just strap her to the roof of the bus!

I didn't think it had anything to do with "smalltowngirl" in the first place. I thought it was directed to the PP who would "stare down" anyone who didn't give her (and her kids a seat). But hey, I'm way too lazy to go back and check (that's why my cat and I need a seat on the bus - both suffer from severe lazyiness).

You're certainly entitled to your opinions, but I'm not sure why you would be offended by my opinion that humans are better than the rest of the Animal Kingdom? I could argue the merits of humans over other animals, but that's another topic altogether :goodvibes.

Since when has that every stopped anyone??

Came here to see what you guys have been saying....wow. Since I'm on battery power, using battery powered hot spot, I can't linger here. Off to deal with my own board issues. Not having power for a day now is not my idea of fun.

That has happened to us several times in the past few years and after the last time I bought a big ol' Honda generator. Now I say bring it on! Hope your power comes back soon.
