OK then, as long as our STD CL room is behind the keyed access door then that's all that matters. Phew. Thanks for your patience with my confusion!
You're welcome and just remember that 4261 is the only Standard Club Level Room not located behind that door. However like I said before since it has the Boardwalk view and you didn't request it chances are you won't be given that specifc room.

Great information, I didn't realize the CL set up, we have only been to BC CL. So then do you go up to the 4th floor to check in? Is this done behind the Innkeeper door pictured?

Got through to the WDTC and I didn't even get put on hold:thumbsup2

We are booked for our 25th anniversary July-August trip at WL/CL the first three nights. Then BWI/CL for five nights (I requested garden/Epcot view). And the grand finale is five nights at the GF in a Deluxe Queen Room Main Bldg./RPC:goodvibes.

BWI and GF will be new to us and we're very excited. Can't wait to get our Disney Destinations Email:hyper:

Sounds like a perfectly planned trip! A WINNER! LOVE IT, KOOK! :thumbsup2

Now, we can talk about ADRs, food and airlines for 8 months! LOL
Right?

Got our BWI CL Garden Suite booked!
DH and I love the GS! Especially the ones directly below the CL!
They have the LARGE balconies and are the ones that are around 1100 sq ft.
LOVE them! The bathrooms are huge with the large jacuzzi tubs and there are two separate areas for us, as we will have our soon-to-be 21 yo DS with us!
(He's excited to be celebrating turning 21 at WDW!) :woohoo:
We prefer the quiet pool and we love just walking out from our door directly to it.

In front of that door is a desk where one of the Club Level Cast Members works and you can check-in right there. However during my three previous Boardwalk Inn Club Level stays we didn't check-in over there. In August 2010 and August 2011 the check-in process happened right inside our room, because one of the Cast Members personally meet us there with all our information and etc. Also In December 2010 we checked in right inside the Innkeepers Club lounge.

ETA: Back on September 1, 2011 when my family and left the Beach Club after 1 day and switched back to the Boardwalk Inn to finish our most recent WDW vacation we got our new Key To The World cards at the check-in area in front of the Innkeepers Club door and we were told the Cast Members were waiting there for us to arrive, so they had got everything ready once they found out we were returning.

Thank you for approving our trip:). Considering how many CL trips you've had, that means a lot to me! You know I was having a hard time getting it just right, and your directing me toward the elusive RPC Deluxe makes this trip extra special for us:goodvibes

That is so cute that your DS is excited about celebrating at WDW and BWI. I can't think of a better way to celebrate turning 21. Will he be bringing a friend or his sibling?

While I can't talk airlines since we switched from flying to driving in '02, I'm more than happy to help work out the nitty-gritty details of anyone's trip:hyper:

It sounds like you're going to feel right at home in the GS. Were you able to book with a discount or are you DVC?

Let the planning begin!

So that I understand every little detail - we pull-up to the port cochere out "back" to unload our luggage and then is there a CL runner who greets us and escorts us up to the 4th, like at the WL? Or is there a CL podium you walk up to, like at the YC?

BTW, after fussing over my room request yesterday, I discovered on the WDW site where they list "Rooms and Prices" that there isn't a "GARDEN VIEW" at the BWI, they call it a "COURTYARD VIEW" like at the WL. But since there is only either a CL Boardwalk/Water View and one other CL view, I don't think there will be any confusion, but knowing me, I'll have it corrected anyway since I have to call to change my RPC request from COURTYARD to LAGOON anyway.

Also speaking of that door which says Innkeepers Club that's where you would insert your Key To The World cards for it to open, so you can get back to your room and to the lounge. The 4th floor is where your room and lounge will be located and it also has non Club Level rooms on that floors, so it's not the same set up like when you stayed Club Level at the Contemporary where their 12th floor was 100% Club Level. So that's the reason for this door which I am talking about.

Thanks for the info :). I was a little confused at first until I read more of your posts explaining this. This is good to know as I'm also used to an entire floor being dedicated to just CL guests and having to use my KTTW card in the elevator to access that floor.

That makes perfect sense to me. I suppose if you got a POR room that had the new queen beds that might be better, but I understand completely wanting to stay with the convenience and larger room size of a Deluxe resort. Those peak rates are also troublesome because discounts can't usually be applied and personally, I won't ever go without a big one. July will be here before you know it - that's when we'll be there again!

Actually, we would have had queen beds as the only thing available for our dates under free dining was a Royal room, which I was kind of undecided about to begin with since we have 2 teen boys and the thought of being in a girly room wasn't too appealing :rolleyes1. But then I started thinking about the cost ($259/night weekdays and $279/night weekends) and I couldn't get over the fact that I would be paying almost $300/night for a mod.....when I've paid less than that for a deluxe monorail resort with a discount :sad2:. We spend alot of time at the resort and the deluxes just really give us that "away on vacation" feel :cloud9:. I hear ya on the discounts......aside from our first stay on property (2002), we have gone almost every year and have never gone without a discount. Of course, that's how Disney got us hooked on the deluxe resorts.......our first deluxe stay was at the BC in 2003 under the Fairytale deal (pay for 4 nights, get 3 free)......we haven't stayed anything but deluxe since.......and now I'm slowly getting hooked on CL . What are your dates in July? Maybe our trips will overlap.

Yes, I saw that on the other page...I just didn't quite get it, but I think I do now.....at first, I thought maybe the rooms where OUTSIDE that door and that door only took you to the club lounge....now I understand that I insert my KTTW card into that door(leads to the private CL rooms/ lounge area and it takes me to my room/ or the lounge....only CL guests have access beyond that door :confused3 :) Think I got it!, guess I'll know in October :goodvibes

I thought the same thing......I thought you needed your key to access the lounge with the rooms being outside the lounge. But then I read it again (and again ) and finally got it :goodvibes.

When you arrive the at the main entrance to the Boardwalk you will then be meet by this Cast Member who will have a list of Club Level guests checking in that day and he will then tell you if your room is ready. Here is a picture of what he looks like from this website.

Now after your luggage gets unloaded they will get a different Bellman to take it and all of you up to the 4th floor so you can check-in, however if there isn't one available then the Cast Member in the picture will personally take you up there.

That's also a good idea to say the correct term for their Club Level rooms that don't face the Boardwalk.

Oh, I love it! Thank you for the photo. He looks so welcoming and it will be a great start to our stay to have him greeting us. I love being able to picture what our arrival (from WL) will be like. Yes, I'm a kook...

He is actually one of the nicest Cast Members you will meet after the ones working in the Innkeepers Club. On the day we switched back from the Beach Club he remembered my family and was surprised to see us, so after we told him what happened he said it was great to us again and welcomed us back home.

Yes, we do :goodvibes. I haven't booked yet, but if things go as I'm planning, we will be there 7/19-7/27.......although the next step is difficult.....deciding where to stay :rotfl: :rotfl:.

i'm currently here after arriving last Tuesday - as usual the cms are wonderful and i've got my 'usual' room :)

although the greater is still there, there are now 'subside greeters', they're wearing usual cm uniforms and have ear pieces/lists of cl guests . i arrived by towncar and was greeted as soon as i got out the car, and was whisked straight upstairs as usual to check in.

i love this place :)

The Boardwalk had those exact same Cast Member greeters with a clip board and ear pieces when I was there this past August/September, in fact they are now at all the Deluxe Resorts.

WDWKOOK,
One thing you should know in advance is that during the summer months the hallways of the Boardwalk Inn can be very cold and that's because of the setting for their air conditioning. However when it's hot outside I guess that can also be a good thing and it's something I don't mind.

Also speaking of their hallways they can seem very long if to those who have never stayed there before, although I got use to them very fast and today I find them very easy to get around. I also know you only stayed 1 night at the Yacht Club and I read their hallways are just as long when going to your room, so if you can remember your experience from there that's what it would be like at the Boardwalk Inn.

apologies crossed resort fan i misread your post as i thought you meant the greeters greeted cl guests . he did give a nice cheery welcome though :)

it was so cold Friday they switched over the hallway air conditioning to heat, a very welcome relief that day. back to being a fridge now though.

Clare, please say hi to everyone for me! I will be arriving Wednesday for our family trip. I hope I get to meet you.

Thanks to BWIF4L posting that Oyster photo of the curbside greeter, I decided to take a look at more Oyster photos of BWI. They have many great photos of the gym. However, I couldn't find a Smith Machine in any of the photos. All the other gyms at WDW have one so that you can bench press. DH bench presses 6X a week (I only do it 3X week) so does anyone know if there is a way to bench press at BWI? I know we could stop at the Ship Shape to use their Smith since we'll probably be jogging right past it. But if we're using the treadmills at M&B, then it would be easier to use their Smith.

Also, are there CL rooms over the ESPN Club? Is noise ever an issue for these rooms on the 4th floor? Does anyone know which 4th floor CL rooms that face the courtyard would not have a connecting door? I'm trying to picture where these rooms might be and I can't find a room number map like DisneyZone has for the BC/YC.

Are there any Deluxes you haven't stayed in before? That might be a good place to start. Either that, or pick your favorite, if you have one.

I love a live report! Sounds like you're having a wonderful time.

sorry i'm on my iphone - subside should be curbside
Don't you just love auto correct?

Well, YC didn't seem long and we were at the end furthest from the lounge, but they are a bit "twisty." This past summer, I was always chilly in the WL lounge so I bought a WL jacket and wore that in there (I love that jacket:)). Sounds like I might need a BWI jacket, too;)

KerryCM, I hope you have a wonderful trip!

Are there any Deluxes you haven't stayed in before? That might be a good place to start. Either that, or pick your favorite, if you have one.

Our favorite is the Poly, with the GF and WL running a close second. But there are 3 resorts we haven't tried......CR, YC, and BWI. BWI is at the top of my list to try, but with the Epcot resorts not having much in way of CS, I can't convince my DSs to stay over there again. I know there are limited CS options at BWI and the BC has the Marketplace, but the variety for us isn't there (especially for breakfast). Their favorites are Captain Cooks at the Poly and Roaring Forks at the WL and nothing in the Epcot area compares to those two places :sad2:. As far as the CR.......although there is CS there, the issue we have with that is we don't really care for the decor; it doesn't appeal to any of us to stay there for 7 or 8 days. So, unless I can convince the guys to venture a stay at another Epcot resort, it looks like I'll be booking the Poly. But that's ok with me because I actually love the volcano pool the best out of all the resorts we've stayed at :goodvibes (including SAB at the BC). But anything can happen between now and next summer as I am known to be a resort changer :rotfl: :rotfl:.
