If you look at the map it looks like a fair number of garden view rooms would not have a view toward Epcot to see Illuminations.
http://www.wdwinfo.com/resortmaps/boardwalk.htm

I've stayed in a CL garden view room and you could see parts of Illuminations from those rooms but they are in the light pink area on the map so you can see that those would have a view over toward Epcot while it looks like other garden view rooms might not have a view in that direction.

Just out of curiosity, based on this map, where are most of the standard and waterview rooms located. No biggie- I am happy to be there- just trying to get an idea in my mind. We will be tired that first night so I need to mentally prepare myself...:goodvibes

Just for fun I was checking the WDW website under the special offer for the room only discount from August 14th - October 1st and their rack rates. Well under both reservations the Deluxe Rooms at the Boardwalk Inn are sold out for the dates my family and I will be there which is from August 17th - August 31st. So after seeing that it's a very good thing we got that room as soon as that discount was announced. Although the fact they only have 10 total Deluxe Rooms is a major reason why, so it goes to show you that if you are thinking about reserving one then do that right away.

In our trip in October we will be getting into MCO at around 11pm by the time we get luggage and catch magical express to the Boardwalk, will there be any place open to eat? What do you recommend for late night?

Thanks for mentioning the number of deluxe rooms. After reading this thread, I switched our Sept reservation from CL Standard to CL Deluxe. My hubby really wants a boardwalk view. I was afraid that we would not get that view with a standard CL. I was happy to see Deluxe rooms still available for our dates (Sept 19th-26).

You're welcome and congratulations on getting a reservation for one.

You know how all the WDW Resorts give you a little guest directory of their resort along with a map of it. Well who wishes that the map we get of the Boardwalk would look exactly like the maps they have around the resort, because of the detail that goes into them. If you still know what I am talking about here is a picture of the maps I wish the guests would also get.

A few questions... Thank you!

Is the clown water slide open after dark?

Do all the waterview rooms (not club level) have balconies or patios? I read somewhere that a few rooms only have a sliding door and rail - the balcony is not big enough for chairs and table. Is that true? I heard that Beach Club is like that.

What do you prefer? Patio or Balcony? I though balcony because the view would be nicer. But I've enjoyed rooms with patios before too because there usually is a little bit more room and it's easy to take a quick walk in/out if no need to lock up. Can you walk from the patio rooms right onto the boardwalk?

One night when I was walking back from Hollywood Studios and cut through the Luna Park pool area the slide wasn't operating.

As for the Water View rooms they all have balconies and don't have a patio because there aren't any located on the 1st floor. Now I know the balconies on the 3rd floor are bigger then the rooms on the 4th floor, however I can't speak for their balcony sizes on th 2nd floor and 5th floor.

Just wondering if I am the only one who is disappointed and surprised that Seashore Sweets doesn't sell Milkshakes?
I was disappointed when I saw that... then I read that Beaches and Cream uses Edy's ice cream - not my favorite....

What are some good ways to use snack credits on the Boardwalk or over at the Yacht/Beach club. I don't want cookies, cake, lollipops, chips and pretzels. I want milkshakes, fruit smoothies, frozen lemonade and stuff like that. Or how about these?

Joe's Coffee Cart - Popcorn, Churros
Boardwalk Bakery - Desserts?
Seashore Sweets - Ice Cream, Saltwater Taffy
Funnel Cakes - Funnel Cakes, Fried Ice Cream, Soft Pretzel
Boardwalk Pizza - Slice of Pizza?
Boardwalk to Go - Fries, Onion Rings?

Have not really thought about that. I do enjoy an occasional milkshake but am more likely to get icecream. I think if they did offer milkshakes the lines would move slower. I did like that the line moved rather quickly when ever I was there.

Boardwalk To Go, Boardwalk Pizza Window and the Funnel Cake stand don't accept the DDP, so those places are out for using snack credits. However the other locations you listed do accept it.

I need 3 table service breakfasts at the Boardwalk area or Epcot. So, far I have all 3 booked at Cape May Cafe. Loved the food last year and of course there is Donald, Goofy and Minnie.

How are the other places? I'll probably give Kouzzina a try for breakfast one morning but also going there for dinner. Captains Grille's food looks boring. Akershus in Epcot is another possibility but the breakfast menu looks limited (maybe lunch at Akershus is better).

Where are the standard (non-CL) water view rooms located at BWI? My TA got us an upgrade and a discount today,:cool1: but I'm not sure where the standard rooms with a water view might be. Everything I can find pictures of seems to be CL.

I know those rooms are located on the 3rd and 4th floors and I think they also have them on the 2nd and 5th floors. However no matter what you still get a view of the Boardwalk and there is no difference when you compare the design to their Standard Club Level Rooms.

Kouzzina is awesome!
Captain's grill is very good too, nice fresh food cooked to order or a lovely buffet.
