The Boardwalk Inn Information Thread

I was reading the thread to get information on BWI, as my DH would like to stay at an Epcot resort next year. And my DDs went nuts over the pictures of the clown slide.

From what people have shared - the deluxe rooms are larger, and all face the boardwalk. Are they in the main building? Are they closer/quicker to get to from the lobby?

They are closer than some of the more remote rooms but there are rooms that would be closer to the lobby/elevators. But at least you would know where the room is given that there are only like 8.

The great thing about them is that they come with club level service so you have access to the club lounge for breakfast, snacks, and evening hors d'oeuvres.

I like the idea of more room - and the CL service would be great. But we are planning WDW for just a few days pre DCL. So was wanting to book something easy to get to.

We stayed at the WL one time and had one of those remote rooms. . .I honestly didn't find it that big of a deal, but my family whined a lot after a day at the parks. I had suggested the Contemporary for that reason, but DH wanted an Epcot resort so we could walk to dinner at Epcot in the evenings.

All their Deluxe Rooms are located on the 3rd and 4th floors of their main building. However from the elevators on either floor it's a fair walk to their rooms and if you never stayed be confusing, although we got use to the walk right away. Also the Deluxe Rooms located on the 3rd floor have bigger balconies, although if your on the 4th floor that means you are closer to the Club Level lounge and from the 3rd floor they recommend you walk up a set of stairs when going to the lounge.

Well I just changed my BCV reservation to BWI for memorial day weekend b/c we needed a larger room.

I know nothing about the BWI or what kind view I should request, do es any one have a link to a post that has answers on room views?

Oh we are DVC so do not know if that changes things...

I'm assuming you booked a villa. Is it standard or preferred view?

My DH did it and all I can get out of him is 1. It is a 1 bedroom and 2. It is a garden/pool view. So really i have no idea the answer you are looking for?

Thank you for the information.

We have never been to the Boardwalk. My DH and I have found that we tend to get turned around at WDW at first (disney directionally-challenged), but a day or two into it we're usually fine. This trip will be short since it is just a precruise stop - so not as much time.

If we are looking for convenience, would we be better off booking another type of room?

Epcot - I remember some of the countries sell bottles of wine. Can you carry these out of Epcot or does the wine have to be sent to the resort or something like that?

Is there a grocery store or gas station across from the Boardwalk Inn where I can buy a few things (beer, wine, snacks, etc.)? I think I remember reading that in one of these forums. If so, is it close enough I can walk from our room at the BWI?

DW and I would like to have some wine on our balcony after DS is asleep!
Thanks!

I'm so excited! We are staying here for the 1st time next month. Our fave is the YC, but I had a PIN code and with no rooms available at the YC, we decided to give BWI a try.

I'm really happy about getting to try something new and still being within walking distance of our fave!:woohoo:

Well another great thing about their Deluxe Rooms is that they all come with a Boardwalk View and since those are Club Level rooms it's great having access to the Club Level lounge for the food offerings and etc.

There is a Hess station located across the street from the entrance to the Boardwalk, so you it's very easy to walk over there and purchase whatever you need.

I hope you have a great time staying there and maybe it will become another favorite resort. When I first stayed there in August 2010 I was shocked at how great it was, well ever since then I have stayed there a second time and having a third stay there this August.

You can carry a closed (never open) bottle of wine out. You could also look into www.gardengrocer.com they will allow you to order beer & wine in the notes section-you have to email them a copy of your ID. Or you get a towncar from the airport instead of ME and do a grocery stop on the way to the hotel.

Question...are there exits from the resort onto the Boardwalk or the quiet pool area at various places in the hotel, or do you have to walk up to the lobby and use the main entrance? :confused3

I know that to access the quiet pool on the Inn side you just take the elevator and press the button for the 1st floor, which say quiet pool and is the easiest way to get there. So I haven't gone done any other exits to see if about any other ways to get there.
