Self Publishers

That was super nice of you... Its a bit of work especially the loading parts.
I mostly helped before the uploading to Amazon, proof reading and fact checking the original manuscript, as well as things like post launch promotion and advertising. There was about 10 of us helping with the book as there is a huge amount things to do to get an original manuscript from a Microsoft Word Document to finished book available for sale on Amazon. :)

My cousin had always dreamed of being a famous author and had always written down stories because he wanted to try to become a successful novelist and he once tried to get one of his stories published but the publisher turned him down and he tried again and the same thing happened. I would have to say you might want to contact a few publishing companies and ask how you would get your stories turned into a book or if you have written a story you may want to try calling your library and see if they will let you promote your story there. Because libraries will often host events where local authors promote their stories and they put your book on display under local authors and that's a smart way for you as a writer to be noticed. But try sending your stories to publishers and if one publisher rejects your stories you can always try another
Good luck with the book Cogswel Cogs

No it's not a project like that. I both worked in publishing for many years and have self published four books. Rejection is by far the most common response, though no response at all is also pretty common. There use to be a site where a guy posted all of his books rejections, many were quite humorous. Your cousin should really look for an agent rather then a publisher. And even then he should research the agent first and explain why he be a great author to be represented. More importantly than that he/she should be very socially active. The old days of publisher being able to work your book have diminished greatly, so they want to see that you plan to at least work as hard as they will.
