The Boardwalk Inn Information Thread

Have you thought of maybe switching your requests of the Garden/Epcot view with your Standard Club Level Room reservation and taking a chance and requesting the Boardwalk view? This way no matter what you will be on the 4th floor and by the lounge. Plus if you don't get the Boardwalk view it's a good chance you might get your original view request? Unless you don't want to take that chance since the Deluxe Room guarantees you the Boardwalk view.
I'm a little confused...

My concern with the Deluxe room is that we would end-up on the 3rd floor and also, there might not be very many 4th floor Deluxe rooms w/o a connecting door. I'm not sure which room you mean when you say that if I change my current STD CL room request to "BWV" then I'll be on the 4th floor. Won't I be on the 4th floor no matter what I request with a STD room?

Hopefully this will explain what I said a little better.

I know you mentioned with your reservation for the Standard Club Level Room you requested the Garden/Epcot view. Well instead of that have you thought of requesting the Boardwalk view? Either way you will still be staying on the 4th floor with that room category meaning you are close to the lounge and if you don't get the Boardwalk view you will get a room on the other side with the Garden/Epcot view.

So basically do you want to take a chance and request the Boardwalk view or make sure you get it by reserving a Deluxe Room?

Brunette-We have never stayed at the GF but I can tell you that you will never find a better group of cast members than the ones that work in the Innkeepers Club at the Boardwalk. The resort is so relaxing anyway. Then when you can add in sitting in the lounge after a day in the park, watching Illuminations from the lounge if you do not feel like hoofing it over to EPCOT, and the friendliness of the cast members, you can't go wrong.
The breakfast is more than plenty to start out. The homemade potato chips, cookies, and crackers are a nice quick snack if you need one in the afternoon. We are rarely there that time of day but once in awhile stop in between events. The evening offers have changed over the years. I used to love when they had a variety from each restaurant different nights. ESPN Club used to do wings and sliders, Flying Fish would handle a couple days, then Spoodles in the good ole' days would even it out. The offerings today are good, just not the same. I have my sentimental ways;) In the end, you will love the Boardwalk Club level.:lovestruc

*Hey there sfbank!!

Wow, thanks so much for your detailed response. What a friendly bunch on this thread. I'm so glad I dropped in! :) I may give this place a try.

Anyone going February 10-20?? :goodvibes

THANK YOU!!! :goodvibes Looks like you are voted in to be the Queen of the next, new and improved, and fresh Boardwalk Inn thread!! :)

Does anyone know if the Lifeguards allow children to go down the slide with a life vest on? DS is not a strong swimmer :sad2: and my mind would be more at peace if he had one on. We stayed at POFQ last year and they allowed it, however, I know all the resorts may have different rules.

I cannot explain the excitement I am feeling right now about my future stay at BWI  Back to planning:surfweb:

Do all of the Villa Studio rooms have daybeds? We stayed in one in 2006 and it had one. We'll be back in February and want to make sure we have a room with a daybed.

I believe the Villa Studios all have pull out sofa beds that make a queen size bed. Theoretically those rooms fit four people, but people say 2 adults and two kids are fine, but if the kids are teens or older it's tight. Three people seem to be no problem. Haven't stayed in one myself, though.

Anybody know why BWI is not available 1/25-1/28?? All that's coming up is the Deluxe Studio Villa. Contruction, refurb, convention?? Also, are the pools hot tubs open at this time?

In addition, where are the Deluxe Studio Villas located?

Thanks in advance for any info.:goodvibes:goodvibes

FYI: This thread has reached it's post count limit. As such, we must create a new thread.

There is currently ANOTHER BWI thread running as well, located here:

How do the posters in this thread wish to proceed?

Ironic, we were talking about creating a new thread anyway (started by WDWKOOK) since the front page here is really old and out of date. This pushes us to do that.

gometros, (I am saluting as I write this), I hereby nominate you as the new and improved BWI thread DVC/BWV resident expert (BWVRE)! You (of course) will be doing this on a voluntary basis without renumeration, but I'm certain that my thanks will be more than enough compensation. (I've lowered my salute now...)

If nominated, I will not run. If elected, I will not serve ;)

I can't answer the first set of questions, but if you picture the Boardwalk as a reverse C back to back with a regular C (like the Channel logo), or a sideways H, the Villas are all on the left side, the Inn is on the right side, and the lobby is in the middle. The Villa side is further from Epcot, but certainly still walkable from the furthest room. The Villas are closer to Hollywood Studios, but even the closest Boardwalk room is still a mile away from HS, so we always take the boat.

I offered yesterday to create a new thread since this thread is 10 years old and the first page hasn't been updated since 2005. The other thread doesn't have any BWI info. at all on its first page.

I started creating a new BWI info. thread yesterday, but I thought that threads weren't closed until they were closer to 250 pages, so I thought I had at least this week to create the new thread. Do threads now close closer to 200 pages? I hope to have the new BWI thread up this week. What would you like me to do, CanadianGuy?

250 pages is the correct amount.. I saw 2500 posts and forgot that it's 3750 .. but given this thread is ten years old.. Yeah.. a new thread with info might be a good call!

No rush. Let me know when you are ready. We'll close out this thread when you're all set with the new thread and add the new one to the thread sticky for resort FAQs etc. Sound good?

It's official then - your campaign has been suspended...

Oooooh a thread from KOOK popcorn::

:dance3:Boardwalk boogie :dance3:
Welcome back:yay:. Does this mean you'll book BWI now? I won't even put the :clown: slide on the first page:flower3:

BTW, HRH made a great FIRST ticker - I hope she's up for the job of making MANY more!

I think we've worked everything out via PM - thanks for keeping an ever-vigilant eye out on the Resorts Forum:magnify:

HI KOOK! This is a great idea, and I'm happy to help by donating photos! I'm not a good photographer, but I've taken lots of photos at BC/YC that aren't pretty, but practical for planning purposes. (I have a ton of the BC Marketplace, for example.) I'm happy to do the same at BWI (I think I already have a couple of the grocery items at the Screen Door General Store.) I also have photos of all the CS menus at BWI (they are from August, but might serve as a placeholder until you get new ones) and a sign describing the BWI breakfast options. Thanks so much for doing this!

Thanks for your offer of help:). I went through every page of this thread yesterday and moved some of the room and room view photos to my PhotoBucket account so that I can edit them and post them to the first page (with attribution of course), I believe some of them were yours.

I'm going to link to the AllEars menus, as I did in the WL thread since that way the menus will be updated automatically, but thank you for your offer.

If you could PM the breakfast option sign and and grocery items, that would be helpful to have, at least until I get back to BWI in about 80 days and take more photos.

If you discover other room or room view photos that you may not have already posted here that you think would be useful, please PM them - - - and that goes for anyone else who hasn't already done so:goodvibes

Thanks!

WDWKOOK
In the picture of the Deluxe Room view I sent you in that PM, did you remember to put down that it was room #3229? I figured it's best to have the correct room number that goes with the picture.
