The big "no buy in July" thread!

oooh Cindy... you are good. :-) I'm really starting to work the Walgreens register rewards and getting good at it. The only problem is that I have to ask myself if I really need the item that is free.... we live in condo!

You can always get the free item and try to have a coupon for it and make it a moneymaker! And donate the free item to a shelter or church or friends/family!!

Jumping back in because it has been too long since I've done no buy days. I do work on a two week basis because that it how I'm paid and it works for me. Going for seven no buy days, don't know if I can actually do half of the two weeks but I'm going to give it my best shot.

Today will be lunch and groceries and then I should not have to spend any money Saturday or Sunday!

Have a great weekend everyone.

My sister wants to keep my car until Sunday so that has contributed greatly to my string of no spend days. :cool1: Of course there is always online shopping if I get deseperate to spend money.

Hello everyone! I am joining in. I am not going to count any bills that I pay, and also, I will not count things my DH spends. (He gets only cash, so I don't have to worry about what he is spending.)

I am starting late in the game, so, with 22 more days left, I am going to go for 8 days of no spending. I have no idea how to gauge this, so I am just going to see how it goes. Thanks everyone!

We are currently sort of following some of Dave Ramsey's principals, not adding debt, following a budget, etc.) We have swayed as we are buying some things that were needed for a long time when we were flat out broke! Anyway, trying to get back on track to start paying off debt with a vengeance in September. (Minus our Oct.2-9 Disney trip.) So, I figured this would be a good "little" thing we could do.

Goal: 8 days of no spending in July!

7-9--$1 parking garage fee at dr.'s office (ugh, almost was a no spend!)

7/07/10: $3.35 dgmarket
7/08/10: $1.50 bus fare, $5.25 chinese rest. lunch, $17.95 big lots (mostly groceries and drinks) and $1.35 Dairy Mart (cup of ice and bottle of soda)

Oh man. Today my spending was like overeating... something tastes delicous so you just keep eating it until you are sick. My hairdresser switched salons, so my haircut cost more than it used to... then I went to the grocery store with hubby- huge mistake!! Didn't have coupons with, bought stuff just because we wanted it... wasted money and now I feel a little sick.

AND- the pork chops I bought from Winn Dixie BOGO smelled like old fish when we went to cook it, so DH took me out to dinner. Didn't come out of my budget, but instead of saving money on BOGO meat, we ended up spending more money.

Sometimes I think I go too far with trying to save money, so that when I spend money like a normal person would it feels wrong, and I don't enjoy it. Wierd?
