The best thing I ever ate @ wdw?

Jinko had a wonderful ostrich appetizer. I tried it once because someone else on the DIS had said that you would never look at ostriches the same way. Very true, so sad that they took it off the menu.

One of my favorites used to be at Artist Point where you could get beef tenderloin over tillamook mac n' cheese. Unfortunately its been off the menu for many years now. Same for our once favorite desert there, coffee three ways.

I AGREE COMPLETELY! I dreamed about this meal for years and was so disappointed when we returned for my birthday and found the beef/mac and coffee dessert were no more. Thank goodness the mushroom soup was still on the menu which is now #1 on the best thing I ever ate at WDW.

DH says for him it's the wings at Ohana. His discontinued favorite was the French Toast Loaf at MK's Main Street bakery.

It has been nine years since I had the Truffle Ravioli with Sweet Bread Sauce at V&A's, yet anytime someone asks me what the best thing I have ever eaten in my life (not just at WDW) is, that is what I name. I have been known to drool just when talking about it.

Filet mignon at Yachtsman. The. Best. Steak. I. Have. Ever. Had. :worship:
Almond crusted cheesecake at Narcoossee's.
Spicy chicken and chipotle sausage over sweet corn polenta at Le Cellier. :thumbsup2

But, doesn't everything taste better at WDW? :wizard:

Slight correction. "The Best Thing I Ever Ate" is on the Food Network and the people interviewed on the show are all Food Network stars.

That show is on the food network, hence the FN stars hosting it.....

I have to agree with the others who are voting for the Le Cellier filet, blooming lovely.

For something tasty at lunch you can't fault the BLT from the Earl.

Best Appetizer
At Todd English's bluezoo, the teppan seared sea scallops served over braised short-ribs on top of cauliflower puree.

I have had many a scallop dish since I first tried these in October 2009 and all have fallen way short. Had them in December 2009 and they were just as good the second time around and now I'll have them again this coming February and I have no doubt they'll be every bit as delish.

Best Salad
At the Hollywood Brown Derby, the Cobb Salad. Every Cobb Salad since has paled in comparison.

Best Entree
At the Flying Fish Cafe, the Signature Potato Crusted Red Snapper. Mmmmmmmm. I never thought this would appeal to me, but it's another that makes me drool at the thought of having it again so soon!

Best Plated Dessert
At Todd English's bluezoo again. Not even sure what this was called, but it was chocolate...it was peanut butter...it was goooooooooood. I don't consider icecream in this same category, otherwise the No Way Jose would be my hands-down winner.

owns both The Food Network and The Travel Channel (which probably irks Anthony Bourdain a lot) so it's not surprising to see similar shows.

They also own HGTV which is partering on Food & Wine this year. I wonder if we'll see F&W shows soon.

It was either 1994, or 1998 when I ate at Cinderella's Castle and had the Pistachio Crusted Salmon. So good! I also love the Bread Pudding from 'Ohana, and the bread/butter from Kona Cafe. :goodvibes
