On January 3rd we attended the campfire movie like so many other nights. It was chilly by Florida standards but balmy for us doughy Yankees.
Ms Sundee started the show and was in the story telling mood (we like that)
Chip and Dale were especially fiesty that night and very funny. Partway through the show, Dale suggests that Ms Sundee trade places with a boy in the audience and allow him to play guitar and sing. Next thing you know that kids 15 minutes of fame has started and Ms Sundee is sitting on the bench right in front of us with the boys family. I am sure it was WAY off script but the whole performance was VERY funny. It made it all that much harder to leave the next day.

We love you Ms Sundee

That's Miss Sundee. Even though she hasn't been employed by Disney for decades she's the kind of cast member Walt wanted all the people who worked there be just like her. If I know Miss Sundee, she probably hated to see you all go. Not to worry though, Gatordad and I will be visiting frequently this year so we'll fill in for you. I'm sure MrsGus will be back for the summer to help during mine at Gatordad's absence.

How did you like the 900 loop? That usually is where I stay but lately we've gotten some other loops and as long as the spot is big enough to get in without clearing the brush like my good bud Gatordad then I'll accept it. The 1000 loop is pretty good too.

my tribal name in the wheretheheckawi indian tribe is pullthru maker.

I loved the site, nice loop, for some reason I never paid it much mind before. We dont usually stay in pet loops. The neighbors were a little rowdy but I convinced them to be quiet after we drank a dozen or so beers together :lmao:

BEER,,,the modern day peace pipe.

Seriously!?! Is it legal to slip to my kids? Since them being out for Christmas, it is chaos around here. Trying to get them back into the homeschooling routine has made me flirt with the idea of sending them to public school :scared1:  . I got over it, but I think that by the time we are back on track, we will be gone to disney. Then have to come back and get on track again.

Beer, never liked the stuff, but maybe I can slip it into their chicken or something at dinner. :lmao:

Holly cow!! This can't be THE Sundee that I use to work with. Wow, I guess I am gonna have to pop over to the campfire program just to see if it is the CM I am thinking of. The girl I am thinking of left our reservation office to go work at FW and she always played the guitar and led the sing along at the campfire program. Man, she's been with the company along time then if it's her and if it is her I know she'll be shocked to see me again. I use to go visit her about once a month over at FW after she left where we worked together. I haven't seen her now in ....what about 4 years??? Oh my, I am even more excited about my upcoming visit to FW!!! :) :cool1: What a great blast from past if it's her!

Thanks for posting this...:thumbsup2

I have to say that the people camping in the tent in the site beside you did seem to get out of hand at times!:rotfl2: There were some nights I did not think they were every going to settle down! Thank goodness you were there to give them beer!:lmao:

You really need to pick better neighbors.:rotfl2: :lmao:

It sounds like it might be, her picture is up there in BidDisneyDaddy's avatar.

You might want to delete her last name in case she doesn't want it posted here.

I didnt really "give" them beer, I bet I came out even or better on the count.

If they're under 18 try Nyquil Cold Medicine - has the same effect :rotfl:

If Sundee cut loose after New Years it's probably related to what she told me about liking to work the week before Christmas - she's more free (she told me) to pick what she wants to sing (which tells me during the busy Christmas - New Years time she is less free to do so).

Who know? Maybe the WDW suits come out of their offices during the peak visitor period. I know that when our ol' AT&T big wigs come through the office once a year to shake hands and give the canned stump speech, things are ship-shape, real GI. The other 364 days a year we try to keep the machine humming along and keeping our sanity at the same time.

Ms. Sundee rules, no question! :worship:

stacktester,

Yup that's her then! Wow, I opened that location many moons ago and worked for the company for 10 years, she transferred out and I just got out as going to Orlando to work was/is just impossiable for me. I am impressed to hear my girl is still hanging in there though. :) I can't wait to see her again! Thanks for being specific, I don't need to see her picture now, cause' I know without a doubt it's her. I thought it might have been the first time I saw her name mentioned here due to the spelling, but I wasn't sure enough that it could be her to say anything. :0)

Well, I guess there are quite a few of us former Tampa CRO cast members out here, I worked there from Oct 1997-Dec 1999. My DS is working there now and it sure is nice to get the discounts on ressies again.

I didn't know Miss Sundee used to work there, next time I am at the fort I will need to ask her when she worked there, every time I talk with her I keep thinking I know her from somewhere else.

Proudmomof4,

Very cool to chat with another former Tampa CRO CM. :goodvibes I was one of the first folks hired to open that place. I'll never forget the character/dance party we had in the parking lot as kind of a pep rally to open the res center. Oh and all the wonderful resturants that use to come wine and dine us. All the good neighbor hotels that would come over and bring us gifts. Those were the good old days, but nothing lasts forever. Geeze, that was all so long ago that I can't even remember what year we opened that place. I think it was in October, but I can't remember when.

I transfered over from the Disney store, so I worked for the company from 1993 upto I think it was about 4 years ago when I left there. Other than the first six months, I pretty much worked the 6:50-3:20 shift with Sat./Sun off and then towards the end when I went part-time I worked 8-1 with Fri, Sat, Sun. off on Roxanne's team (unless of course I had to do the mandatory overtime-that was the last straw for me). Anyway, we might have met or at least know some of the same people. :)

PS
I do miss the discounts, but I have always had some sort of travel agent id, so that still helps some. :)

PSS
Yes, please do ask Sundee about her stint at CRO. :) I am sure that is where you have seen her from. Might have you also been with us in the one year that we got to do our Candelight Processional rehersals in Tampa? Sundee lead them for us. :)

Mmketeer,

I'm sorry, I don't think I was there for the Candlelight rehearsals.

I started when Travel Company was first taking off but I was hired into CRO, so never did Travel CO. I was on Tammy Stefanie's team (we were Sebastian's crabs) working 9:30-6:00 and then eventually went part time and worked 8:00-1:00 with Friday, Sat and Sun off too, I was on Deanna Watts' team then, before she stepped down from being a manager. I always sat with a lady named Terri Quintas, she worked the same hours I worked and I believe she is still there. I was also on Sandy's team for a while and on Team Mickey for a short while when I first got out of training but I can't remember the manager's name.

I also thought it was great when the hotels and restaurants would come and visit with goodies, or when the characters would come and walk the floor, my DS says that doesn't happen so much anymore :confused3 .

P.S. My real name is Denise and my stage name was Katia :yay:

Holly cow. It is a small world! I knew we probably knew some of the same people! I helped train Tammy before she became a manager and Deanna and I were on the same team together also before she became a manager. :) I belive I remember her knitting alot while she was on the phone. <BG> I was still their when Deanna stepped down from management. Their was alot of crap involved...go figure. You couldn't have paid me enough to be a manager there, though in the begining I did try being a pathfinder when we first opened. Then, I wised up and realized after being Lauire's pathfinder, Dave's Pathfinder and some other's person that transferred from Orlando that I absolutly hated (Halen) that this wasn't the path for me and I was missing out on using my senority for some great work schedules. :) I worked with Sandy Noble up front whenever she could pull me and I also worked with the GSM team too and even ran the Cast Excellence Survey's back when they still did those. Terri Quaintas and I also were on the same team together at one time I was here pathfinder. :) I am glad to hear she's still hanging in there. Terri was a life saver for me towards the end and always picked up my hours. :) I also know who your old manager Sandy is. :) I ran into Patty (who's another manager there) and Roxanne my old manager on a Disney cruise not too long ago. Sounds like we probably ran into each and may have even sat near each other as our work schedules were so close.

Oh goodness the good old days left along time ago. Your DS is correct. That's one of the reason's I decided to leave...they took all of the "fun" and magic out of being there. I was "made" to go to WDTC before I left and it also became even more about making the sales then about the guests. They also did away with the Cast Excellence Surveys and quit listening to the cast. Oh and I didn't say anything about the manadatory overtime the first year, but by the second year I was wondering why they wanted to pay me time and half when I was almost making the max hourly wage they would pay instead of hiring new people? Then, by the second year I was over it and by the fourth year I was trying to figure out how legally they could get away with telling the part-timer's that it was manadatory still for them to have to do it. Course' right after I left they decided that part-timer's didn't have to do the over-time anymore (not they ever got paid the extra monet to do it anyway). Gee, I wonder if some of my other friends are still there? Like Sam who use to be incharge of the ER sheet (I loved that man). :)

My stage name was Lorriane and my real name is Lori, I can give you my last name if you private message me. :)

PS
The best benifit is the CM discount for the Disney cruise. I sure hope your DS and you are taking advantage of that one! :)
