Today is CRUISE DAY!!! We are up super early, packed and out the door by 8 a.m. Monica is still sleeping but we say good-bye to Dave. We make it down to Cocoa Beach by 9 a.m. and decide to kill some time at Ron Jons. Kevin bought a nice fleece and I bough a pink sarong to match my bathing suit. We were pretty hungry by this time we swung by Dunkin Donuts for a quick breakfast. We had to fill up the car and made it to Budget just in time to return the car. It ended up being almost $30 less that what I thought. We love saving money! Budget had a free shuttle to the cruise ship and it was a fairly quick drive.
We arrive at the ship and it was so beautiful!!! They immediately take our luggage and we head right into the cruise terminal. We are the second one in line to check-in and although they say they dont start check-in until 11 a.m., they do it anyway!! We are so early that we have a ton of time to kill. Kevin takes more pictures how many is that now Kevin?? (DH Im right around a thousand so far.) And I call our families to say good-bye for the next couple of days. Time goes by rather quickly and before we know it, we are in line to board the ship!!
Since most of the other guests have families, Kevin and I make it through line much faster and the second family on board. How Love Boat when they announce our names!! Our first stop is Parrot Cay for lunch. The spread is amazing and we are seating with another couple who doesnt look to happy to eat with us. As soon as we are done, we head out to wander the ship. The reservations for Palo arent for another 45 minutes or so. Kevin gets some great shots of the upper decks with no one else there.
We are the second couple in line for Palo reservations and we grab an opening for 8:30 tonight. We still have time to kill before the room is ready so we head upstairs to swim. Luckily we had worn our bathing suits instead of packing them. We also grab a couple of Bahama Mamas, drink of the day. They are so yummy that we have a couple more after that.
We meet up with some friends from The Dis at 2:30. They were a ton of fun and it was so nice to put a face with a name. We are exhausted and decide to go back to our stateroom. We pass out for a spell until its time for the emergency drill. It was quick and painless and only lasted about 15 minutes. Afterward we head upstairs to the sailaway party, which was a ton of fun. Kevin got to grab some pictures and I got to dance a little J We waited until we heard the ships horn (it plays When you wish upon a star!) before heading back to the room. The motion of the boat (probably coupled with those yummy Bahama Mamas) have made me a little nauseous, so I lay down. Before I know it, its time to get ready for Hercules! I am feeling even worse by now and tell Kevin I cant get out of bed. I sleep a little longer and we realize we arent going to make dinner either. Kevin takes a little walk to grab some pics but we are both in bed by 8:30.
