The best bag for Disney?

I got an overland Donner bag for the most recent and trip and really liked it, especially the water bottle holders. I do think it was a bit bigger than what I needed, but DD had her own little bag to carry her stuff. I guess if I was carrying for 2 people, then the bag would be the right size.

My Donner just came today and I can tell I'm going to LOVE it while at WDW and for taking on daytrips and to the ballpark! I put both my camera (Canon Rebel SLR w/ long lens just to see) and video camera in it and had PLENTY of room for LOTS more! I think it will be perfect - got it in the Tahoe blue color and really like it.....

Has the brown on from Sierra Trading come in yet? Curious about the lining.....

Not yet :headache: I called Monday to get the tracking number since they don't include it in their shipping notification emails. :confused3

It's supposed to be here tomorrow. That's the trouble with ordering stuff on Friday... it doesn't go anywhere till Monday. :sad2:

hi there, i have been looking at this bag and am wondering something...are u putting the camera in loose and if so, is there enought padding to protect it..i have a canon s5 and wondered what the bag would be like with it and my other stuff...thanks so much
sharon

It seems like there is enough padding. We have it out most of the time anyways and only put it in for rides, shows, table service, etc... but I'm comfortable w/ putting it in there and feeling like it is well-enough protected. Hope this helps - I did put my shorter lens in, too and everything fit really well w/ room to spare for other necessities. And the water bottles fit fine, even w/ the cameras..... not too heavy, but a little w/ all the stuff I had in there - having the camera out most of the time will help w/ that, though.

just wanted to post a little warning about the Donner bags....when I used my bag last August, I noticed that when I put a cold water bottle in the bottle holders, it caused some condensation on the inside of the bag. Nothing was drenched, but it was definitely somewhat damp inside. Just thought I'd give a little warning to those that were talking about putting your cameras inside.

Oh NO - thanks for posting this because I definitely was planning on putting my camera in there....THats Why I Bought it arg!!! I guess I will put it in a ziplock first...

I was sure mine would come today. No such luck.

I did get an email for 20 percent off your next order. I want to get the pacer too, but I was waiting until the Doner came to see if I liked the color.

Maybe it would be easier to put the water in a plastic bag then the camera.

Or use put a coozie over your water bottle, which will help keep it cold, too....

I didn't get an email for 20% off. I'll be very tempted to use it if I do, though! I'm really liking the Donner and I'm sure I could find another bag that I just HAVE to have..... or another color!

Well I got the bag today. I like it. I was worried it would be too big and bulky, but it seems fine. :thumbsup2 I am still strongly considering getting a smaller one to keep with me at all times. Just not sure about what color to get. I am leaning towards maybe black. I am waiting to hear what the inside of the brown looks like.

I think the pink should be fine, it is a dark pink with a gray inside.

It came today! It's the brown and beige square lining. I would have preferred the blue flower lining, but this will do too :)

As for the bag itself, it's exactly what I've been looking for. Just the righg size for me. The way the side pocket works with the shoulder strap is a little odd, but I figure I don't have to worry about anything falling out of it this way. I love that the strap is long enough that it can be loosened to go cross-body instead of just over a shoulder like a regular handbag.

Thanks again to Va-bear for posting the link to it!

I put my camera in my bag, but I just made sure it wasn't right up against the sides where the water bottles were, you know? I tried to keep it in the middle of the bag with other things on the sides if that makes any sense. It didn't make the bag all wet, just on the sides where the bottles fit.

I ordered this Ebags bag the other day. Its only a tiny bit smaller than the Donner bag & onsale for less money. Pretty colors too.

I have one of these wraps that I wrap my camera in and can toss it into any bag & not worry about how padded the bag is. Pocketbook, bagpack, totebag.... They come in different sizes.

Yes, I'm a bagoholic too. :)

I used the bag at the zoo for a field trip for my DD on Thursday. It worked out well. I had a bottle of water in one side, and my camera on the other side. It wasn't too heavy, and the strap didn't bug me. It was cold and I had my jacket on, so I can see how the strap might against bare skin.

Over all i am impressed with it. I didn't find it too big or bulky. :thumbsup2

Still might bring the baglini with me. Still might get the smaller one too (pacer).

Got my bag last week, and used it this weekend while shopping with kids. LOVED IT!!! I will still bring my bagallini, but I feel like this bag is going to work better.

Glad to hear you like it - I am still checking out light/small bags myself. Will let you know what I go with. I think I am going to go ahead and sell my Baggallini this weekend at a tag sale I'm going to....

Now, back to bargain hunting!!! (WEll, on-line bargain hunting - home tday w/ a sick cub.:sad1: )

Wow there is SO much information here.

I am looking at maybe getting one of these Overland Donner bags. Am a little worried if the strap isn't comfortable as that could really bother me. Is it really a big deal?

I am planning on carrying a light sweatshirt, a camera, some miscellaneous first aid stuff, and maybe a lanyard and pins - it should hold all of that fine?

I'm a little worried about the no zipper thing as I do like the thrill rides. I will be checking out all the other links people posted today!

My Ebags Piazza day bag just arrived. I like it. :thumbsup2 Its lightweight & padded but not stiff. Lining is light grey so easy to see contents. Ebags really thinks of its features. I got it in boring black, but I might order a 2nd one in a fun color for summer as I think this will become my everyday pocketbook now. I like cross-body bags for security & hands-free shopping.
