The best bag for Disney?

Hey bag lovers!

I did a little googling over lunch and found an old Dis thread that shows 2 of the colors- no real guarantee that the linings will be the same (but it is from last year and seems to be colors that Sierra is showing...)

Aloe/ w/insides:

(and if you click on these pics they are 'enlargable' (is that a word?)

Chocolate/insides:

Hope it helps any, though, I guess I am enabling again.;) :lmao:

Thanks, If I had seen that last night I might of ordered the brown instead of pink. I really like it. I like the pictures, it looks like my cel phone and camera should fit in it. That is one thing I really liked about my baglini, the cell and camera fit well.

Mine shipped already too. I think it should be here on Monday. How cool is that?

OK...I have the "bag" bug too, LOL!

On Sierra Trading Post, I found a couple of other bags some might want to consider--

Last year, I remember reading the thread about overland bags/ "Donner". I wanted a smaller one and I got the "placer"? from REI. It's OK for a small-type purse, but I don't like the way the velcro flap always seems to come open. And, I ended up carrying another bag for the camera & other stuff. So, I'd like to find ONE bag (no more diaper bag!) that will carry most everything but not tooo big.
After reading this thread, I almost purchased the Donner. I have problems with the one shoulder strap/gets uncomfortable and wondering about the velcro flap closure.
I checked out other bags on Sierra Trading Post (see above) and I ended up purchasing the "Eagle Creek Travel Bag", even though I'm not a big backpack fan. This bag seems compact with zipper closures & inside pockets. I'll see how it works out later this year.
Also, the 15% coupon (thanks for posting this) went through and final cost with shipping was $22.06.

The brown one they have on Sierra Trading post has a different pattern on the inside, from what I can tell. It's the pattern on ebay, which I didn't care for as much. If it would happen to be the one in the Disboard link, I may be tempted to buy another one b/c that's really cute! I REALLY like the aloe one - wonder if they'll ever get it back in stock????

I have two of the Juno bags, one in black and one in blue I love them. It's the only bag I carry on the weekends for shopping. I need to carry a water bottle and this fits all my needs.

That is what I was thinking, she is secure enough in his manhood!:thumbsup2

I just re-read this. That is the biggest typo EVER! He is secure in is manhood.

No I did not marry the man who used to be a women and is now a "man" but pregnant! :lmao: :lmao:

Hmmm... I ordered the brown. I'm hoping the inside pattern is the one posted on the thread here, but I guess it doesn't really matter in the end. I'll probably have the thing so filled that I'll never see the lining anyway. :lmao:

But I'll post back and say which it is!

Yeah...I looked at the Ebay ones after I posted the links and got stressed - the one on Ebay isnt as cute is it....but like Cruise says, guess in the end the lining's not too important...but pretty IS nice!:goodvibes

I've been thinking about this one, or similar, I have a bad back problem and want one bag that is quite small for when I am carrying just keys and wallet sort of thing...hmm... I may need ANOTHER bag!!!:thumbsup2 :rotfl2:

Yes, let us know - hope you  it!!

The more I think about it, it more I want this one (in addition to the other one, or maybe instead.) It looks like a great small bag to keep with me on the rides so I have my phone, camera and other important things. Leave the other one on the stroller with the less valuable things. I think I will wait until I get the other one and see if it really is too big. On the other old thread there was a picture of a person wearing it and it looks kind of big.

Well, since you HAD to go there (or did I go there first?:lmao: ) I am thinking more and more that I will carry a really small one at Disney too - and make DH carry a bigger bag! I kind of think thats why my Baggallini wasnt my fav - I stuffed it too full for my pitiful back.

Right now I think I am down to the Placer and this one from Ebags - the Terrace - guess it is there own brand. Another thread had folks who loved it and it weighs __4 ounces__!!!:worship: :thumbsup2

This is the one that I bought when REI had it on clearance for $5-7 a few months back. I will have to take another look at it and see what it will fit. It has been sitting in the package since it came. LOL

Mine is the Aloe/Dahlia color. The only thing that I wish is that it was a slippery fabric instead. Not sure why...I think I just prefer something that will slide easily over any bumps on my midsection! LOL :scared1: This is a nice sturdy fabric though.

the Overland bag thread again!! I ordered the Donner last year after reading about it here. I got the Aloe color. I really like the bag...it does hold a lot, but the only thing is that the strap did get uncomfortable if you put too much stuff in the bag. I was thinking about trying to find some sort of pad I can attach so it doesn't dig into my shoulder/neck. Somebody posted a while ago about a place where you could order a pad but I can't remember the site now. Here's what I was able to carry in the bag last eyar...just to give an idea of how much it will hold

two Disney ponchos folded into a ziploc bag
a can of spray sunblock
a tube of sunblock stick
chapstick
two water bottles in the holders
a couple small snacks (granola bar or small ziploc of nuts etc)
cell phone
pen
room keys/passes
small amount of cash
sunglasses when they weren't on my face
camera (not small either...sort of bulky)
wet wipes
loads of feminine supplies (why is it that this always happens when I go on vacation :sad2: )

as you can see it can hold a lot! I would love to use a smaller bag like the placer...the Donner is a little big, but I don't think I can get away with anything smaller. Seems I needed most of that stuff and it won't all fit into a smaller bag. I love the organization of the front flap so I can find everything easily. My last park bag was a messenger type bag and didn't have the organization. I was always fumbling around trying to find things in the bottom...made me crazy!

That one looks good too. Now I have to look into them both. I think I will wait until I get the doner and see the size, but I really don't want to have something that big on my shoulder all day. It can hang off the stroller. I do need my cell and camera (and a few other small things) on me at all times so that or the pacer sounds good.

Man I wish I got it on sale for under $10 earlier strmtroopr96. I was out by REI today, I guess I should of looked just to see. Tell me how you like it.

I actually got mine from their website but I'm not sure if they sold out or not. The shipping was actually more than the bag though which stinks! :sad2: My trip is in September but I should look at it and put stuff in and see how it feels. My Mom really liked the look of it so I may just give it to her.

Maxpedition bags are popular with the guys, so you can go buy smaller bags for yourself. They are considered hunting / sporting bags, but if you get khaki or black, they don't look so woodsy. They are big & expensive. But there are knock offs on ebay.

First, here's the bags. Its the Versipack line. Look at any of the Fatboys of any of the Jumbos. Try to look past all the guns & militia style appearance....unless you like to do the parks commando style. lol
http://www.maxpedition.com/store/pc/viewCategories.asp?idCategory=4
If you open the JUMBO product page & SCROLL TO THE BOTTOM OF THEM, some of them show YouTube video demonstrating it being worn & going thru all the pockets so you can really see the size. They are big. Shoulder strap pads can be added. Extra pockets can also be velcro'd on. Fatboys are smaller than Jumbos & don't have to side water bottle pocket.

Also sold on Ebags so maybe you can find discount codes. I've seen pictures online of these used for camera bags & for guys daily gadget bags.

NOW, there are knock-offs of some of these bags available on ebay from Asia for just $10 (+$10 for S&H). I belong to another message board where someone bought one & received it no problem. I'm pretty sure I'll be getting one of these in the next few days for my DH to carry on an upcoming non-Disney trip. Comes in other colors if you look thru his listings.

Also, one more on ebay or you can google it. Its a police type bag. Comes in black & khaki that I've seen. Called "511 Tactical PUSH". Pretty much $45- $49 everywhere. Googling this is just 1 site I found that shows it being worn for size. I don't know anything about the company. Just using photo. These have 2 side pockets that claim to hold 1 liter bottles each.

So, your husbands could carry the cameras & everything else, you carry your cute bags. lol Good luck.

I ordered the Donner bags when they were are on clearance at REI a few months ago too (on a tip from the Budget Board...thank-you:love: ).
I got two different styles.
We just got back this week from WDW and I used the Placer bag all the time. It was a perfect size for my cell phone, camera, room keys and $. I'm really considering ordering one for everyday use. The one I have is green and while it's perfect for WDW, I need either brown or black to use at home.
We've been going to WDW for years and now that my kids are older, I'm a minimalist when going to the parks. We usually are there when the parks open, so I want my camera for the day. When we go back at night I don't take anything but what I can fit in my pocket. No security check and it is so freeing not to have to carry anything(this coming for a mom of six:scared1: ).
I see people at the parks with these huge backpacks full of stuff. I figure if there is something I really need, I'll just go back to the room and get it. So far I've never had to go back:laughing:

A little off-topic.

I have the Overland Placer (?) mentioned above also in the light green (dahlia?) color.

I have not been using it very long but it is already gotten a bit dirty.....anyone have experience cleaning these things? Spot clean, washing machine? ANyone?

Thanks

I have the blue Donner bag. I just got back from Disneyland and carried it the entire 4 days. I thought it held a lot. There was room for 2 water bottles, sunscreen, camera, snacks. the stuff we bought for the day and then some. It does get rather heavy so I do have a messenger bag shoulder strap to keep the carrying strap from digging into my shoulders.
I would love to move down to a smaller bag, but I still have 2 small boys and it seems that you have to carry lots more when you have kids. :)
