We were at Lakeside for our shopping escapades. I haven't been to Esplanade in a while.

O.K., let me just say that I don't even think my right arm is a size 0! Good for you! I think I might have been a size zero in utero. I'm happy that your medicine is working for you. My husband really tried to not get addicted to pain pills after his accident, so I think you're doing the right thing by taking it easy. His doctors even gave him oxicotin! Man, that stuff is strong. He took one 20 min before a New Years Eve party and sat on the couch, looked at me and said "honey...I think I'm stoned!" We laughed so hard!
Hopefully your body will adjust to the meds that the doctors prescribed and at least you now have a diagnosis for your problem.

Now, on a happier note...over the father's day/bday weekend, Mike and I did PLENTY of shopping. I will have to take some pictures of our purchases later and post them.

It was a very busy weekend in all. Friday morning, Mike mowed the lawn, I did some laundry and dishes and played with the dogs. Well, he did let me sleep in a little as a nice birthday present. We took Chance to the vet, and the vet said he is a healthy puppy! He got his first shot, and he did very well through the whole visit so I was such a proud Momma!!

After my doctor's appointment, we went back home to let the dogs out again, and then we were on our way to Metairie (New Orleans area with lots of businesses that we DON'T have in Hammond) to do some shopping.

We went to PetSmart…made a tag for Chance with his name on it, bought some dog treats and dog food. Luckily, the big bag of Science Diet was on sale!
Then, we went to Bed, Bath, and Beyond. I had a 20% off coupon for our WHOLE purchase (rather than the usual 20% off of one item) so I wanted to see what we could get. I bought something I've been wanting for a while now--a Kapoosh knife block

We got the stainless steel one to match all the rest of our countertop items (our appliances aren't stainless steel yet---but will be one day!)

I also got a nice soft bath rug for our bathroom. It was SO nice stepping out onto that rather than the cheapo one we had before.

We went to Target and found those magic lids (I can’t recall what they are called now) on clearance for $5 for a set of 4. We bought them out of curiosity, and now I think we may have to get some more because they really do work!

We also went to the mall, where I bought a cute pink bra at Victoria’s Secret, and another something to “sleep” in.
I don’t think I can post the links for those.

I stopped in Ann Taylor and was looking at the dresses on sale but was unsuccessful. I did, however, find a pair of jeans on sale for $50, but got 30% off for Friends and Family day (I asked the cashier if she had an extra coupon and she said she did!) so I paid $38 with tax.
I normally am pretty cheap and find my jeans for under $30 but I am just THRILLED with the way these fit! I love, love, LOVE them!! I will have to take a pic with them on next time I wear them. I wore them Saturday and the first thing my mom said was “Oh Cheri, you’re so SMALL!” I have lost about 10 pounds since I’ve been sick. And the new jeans(size 0) really showed it off. Obviously I’m not happy I was sick, but I admit I am happier with my figure now. The biggest difference is in my hips. Before I had gotten sick I think they had been GROWING like wildfire!

Believe it or not, that wasn’t all. We went to Sam’s Club and I got some Gain. We were supposed to be getting orange juice, snacks, etc. Well, that all changed when Mike saw the fountain. Yes, my friends, we bought a fountain. We are “those people” now. It was a floor model so it was significantly cheaper than regular price (60% cheaper to be exact) and since my husband is such an impulse buyer he just could not resist. I kept telling him he was completely nuts and he insisted on loading in the cart. I had to help for fear he would break the darn thing and we’d have to pay for it anyway!

Saturday my parents and younger sister came over and finally got to meet Chance. They were shocked that we got a new puppy, but excited for us. They were oohing and ahhing at him, and played with him a bunch, all the while sure to give the same amount of attention to Merlin.

We ate dinner at Cracker Barrel (breakfast foods are easy on my stomach) and went to Dillards afterwards. I have had a $25 gift card since Christmas, and finally used it…well, most of it. I got 3 shirts and still didn’t exhaust it.
We also went to Walmart where my mom got a new Hoover vacuum, and I finally got a stainless steel bag holder (but ended up bringing it back yesterday because it was broken )

Yesterday (when I bought back the bag holder) I bought some bones and treats at Walmart with some Purina coupons I had, and found a few cute shirts for myself. 2 are just T-shirts (baby Winnie the Pooh, and baby Chip and Dale!) and 2 were nicer shirts, and the 4 of them were a total of $16.

So that was my weekend. Oh, almost forgot, I made some internet orders last week which arrived over the weekend. We got a new featherbed from Overstock, and I ordered a bunch of makeup from Ulta.com---the Bare Minerals starter kit, the Bare Minerals color kit, some Smashbox bronzer with a free eyeshadow trio, Too Faced Lash Injection mascara, and Too Faced liquif-eye (which lets you turn ANY eyeshadow into eyeliner—and works AWESOME!!)

Okay, so THAT was my weekend, purchases and all! You’d think I would be broke right now. Oh wait, I am!!

I'd like to say I'm getting used to it but I'm still not adjusted to these meds. I'm sure y'all have noticed I haven't been around as much lately, and the reason is because I am always so restless and unfocused, so I never feel like sitting on a computer. I'm here tonight because I was a bad girl and skipped tonight's dose. I know I probably shouldn't have but it's nice to feel NORMAL for a change!

Tomorrow I will be having my thyroid tested--specifically, TSH, T3, and T4. You may remember me mentioning having my TSH tested with the recent bloodwork they did, BUT I found out today that they never did test my TSH even though it was on the order!!! My mom asked if I had my T3 and T4 tested because the TSH can be perfectly normal but the others can be completely out of whack--so they are supposed to test all 3 (reminder: my mom has hypothyroidism so it's important for me to get tested every couple of years anyway). It may be the reason for my delayed gastric emptying, and why I've been so fatigued lately, as well as why I'm always so cold.

I'm hoping to find out the results this Friday. If it ends up being my thyroid, then I will most likely be put on synthroid and I probably will not have to be on Reglan anymore.

I will let y'all know what I find out.

you also have to remember I am under 5 feet tall. So at a size 0 I'm really not a twig. If I get any smaller though I'll have to find stores that sell 00! I just don't see that happening though.

I took some pics of the fountain tonight. It looks much better at night with the lights on, but you'll just have to picture it in your head since this is a daylight picture.

The thing next to it is a timer that it's on. We still have to bury the wires under the ground but for now he's got the timer next to it and the cords on top of the grass running to the house.
We eventually have to put something in the planter on the top. I am thinking of doing something nice and bright. Any suggestions?

I'm relaxing on the bed, WITH the featherbed, finally. It is comfy! I don't think it's quite as thick as our old one, but it fits the bed nicely and feels just fine to me.

they are a little on the long side but I think they'll look cute with jeans or black slacks

this was just a cute t-shirt, very soft cotton, and comfy

and this one ties in the back (you can see the black strings that tie are just kinda laying there)

Hey CHER!!! I just happened to have a free moment and stopped on by to see how you are doing..Lots of changes I see! First off, congrats on the new puppy--my boxers name is Chance. LOVE your baby-he is going to be a BIG BOY! I want a GD but TC says we have to wait till we have a BIG house and a lot of land.. lol

Secondly, look at all your new purchases! I have been on a shopping spree kick lately also. Especially with vaca being only 2 months from TODAY (wow I just realized it!). We bought the Disney store out of Disney Dollars! All $400 they had between me and my best friend for the kiddos. WOOOPS!

Hope the new medicine works for you. I know how frustrating it is to have stomach issues and the Dr's just disregard it. Hopefully you'll be on the right track to feeling 100% yourself soon.

I'm also a little concerned that I will lose more weight because I still don't have very much of an appetite!
Some of my pants are already pretty loose...I don't want to have to buy all new clothes! I definitely can't afford that.

The big day of the crawfish boil was Saturday, April 26th (Boy am I a slacker!)

This post will be mostly pictures. We like pictures, don’t we.

That morning, we woke up early to get ready for a LONG day. I went downstairs to have coffee, and relaxed with the rest of the women in the house, while the men were outside getting prepared for the boil. They had to get drinks iced down, do some yardwork, etc.
Eventually, I went outside and started fixing up the outside tables with tablecloths and paper towels.
Here’s my handiwork

At one point in the morning, Mike and I were both upstairs in our room, he was on the laptop and I went out on the balcony and saw…

I called Mike to the balcony in time to see it, but as I was trying to get another picture it drove away

Oh well, it was cool while it lasted.

Boil preparations were being made inside and out

They used that tractor to drag ice chests and stuff from the front of the house

The TRAYS!

The crawfish arrived at some point (from Louisiana of course)…

veggies!

Funny story about this okra…they weren’t supposed to get okra, but Jerry instructed whoever went to buy the veggies to get “Everything” so they pretty much got everything. LOL

You can’t put okra in a crawfish boil because it will get all slimy and be all over everything. So, they had all this okra, and the wife of the “Head crawfish boiler” knew how to make okra salad, so she decided to make it.
She made it, put it in the fridge…and by the time of the boil, she (and everyone else) forgot about it, so it never got eaten!
