The Bachelor......

I loved it when he gave Jen the robes and reminded her of his promise in Palm Springs about them having dinner in robes at least once a year. It was at that moment, I became convinced he was going to select Jen. It was such a cute and thought out, romantic gesture and I couldn't believe he would be such a cad to make such a sweet gesture and then dump her. That, plus the fact that there was no gift for Kirsten.

I also thought it was sweet when they both commented on the fact that it was raining which seemed perfect and fitting for them.

If anyone in interested, Jen will be the celebrity guest host on The View Thursday. Andrew will also be on the show. It should be very interesting because those ladies ask some tough questions!

susy, I am really curious as to why you would say his family didn't care how they came across to Jen, and that it was one-sided. I thought they seemed very interested in her and asked her a lot of questions about herself. I really thought they welcomed her with open arms, literally!

I think what got to me the most was the rain and how they both realized and mentioned how that was "their thing!" I love that! I soooo believe in signs like that and fate!

I loved it!! I actually picked Jen the first night...her and Liz but the I liked Liz less and less as she seemed to whine more and more. John liked Tina Fabulous (of course...lol)

I liked Tina Fabulous, too! She was so confident and together. What I really liked about her and Jen is that they never put the other girls down... which took ALOT!

susy, I hardly thought the sister was being obnoxious but more observant. She is concerned about her brother, as she should be and was wondering more about this lady's character than her ambitions. Not many of us have it totally together right after college, but if you CLAIM to, as Kirsten did over and over and over, you should at least come up with a plan. Rattling on like that is a direct look into the kind of person you are.

I think Andrew's family worked very hard to be civil. I think they saw through what Kirsten was really like and what kind of wife she would make for Andrew. Unfortunately, we OLD folks have seen these types more times than you'll ever realize, and we've already seen the last chapter. And we HATE seeing our loved ones going through it. It's sad, but I wish I listened to my Mom when I was 23!

I just didn't like his family. They were civil enough, but obviously thought themselves "better" than their guests and didn't try to hide it. I just didn't think that an older woman who has probably been educated in the best schools and has traveled and worked should not "look down" on one who is obviously not her equal. That's just the Jane Austen era in me.

I also did not like Jen's" lack of comment " when asked about Kirsten. The gracious thing to have said was something like, "She's a nice girl and I'm sure you will like her very much" and leave it at that. Too much pausing and saying that she "knew her the least" was just too much implying.

All in all, I am glad that things turned out the way they did, as Jen seemed to really love Andrew. She will have to, to put up with that clan.

Well, I'm bummed that I missed this. I wish I had known it would be on Sunday instead of Wednesday.

I have to say I am ecstatic that he dumped Kirsten. Little Miss Valley Girl is the type of female that all women instinctively hate. I think there is little doubt she will end up as some rich, old guy's Trophy Wife, despised by his grown children and destined to end up in court fighting over his will. We'll read about it in Vanity Fair or People magazine. :teeth:

Jen seems nice, although I ain't holding my breath for the upcoming wedding. :p

I am holding my breath for a wedding. Those two seem the most compatible of any I've seen on any of the shows.

Anyone else notice that all 3 bachelors' names start with 'A'? Alex, Aaron, Andrew. Now we have Bob...next is Ben, then Bill? Strange coincidence? Or is there something deeper going on?

Hee hee. I'm so glad I can discuss this in a chat room....I'd never admit I watch these shows!

Goodqueen....ROFLOL....I said that to my DD as we were watching last night.....Can't believe anybody els thought about it...

Ok I admit this show is my one guilty pleasure! I was so upset that he got rid of Tina Fabulous but Jen has definetly grown on me. I think she's like the dream cool girl for any guy or at least thats what the editors of show wanted us to think :) Can't wait to see the Wednesday night show. I really hope these two work out, the Alex and Aaron shows seemed so fake but I thought Jen and Andrew seemed very sincere and she was so suprised!

Also he couldn't ask for a better older brother than the one he had he pointed out Kristen's ex. I clapped out loud when he did that. I would have done the same thing for my brother, gotta watch out for the little brothers :)

::Giggle:: Princess Dot, you noticed the exact same things I did! I had to laugh when Kirsten claimed to be so "ambitious" but was very vague about the true intentions of her ambitious side. Have you seen her bio on the Bachelor website? She even says that she's opportunistic. If that ain't the truth!

DF and I were laughing hysterically over the "death glare" Kirsten gave Andrew when he mentioned her boyfriend during the last date. When she said "I hope that won't be the deciding factor" and gave him dagger eyes, for a second I thought she was going to lunge for a kitchen knife or something! Yeouch!

We also laughed over the belly ring as well. Nothing against them, like you said, but I certainly wasn't surprised to see it twinkling in the candlelight!

I can't wait to see the next season with Bob. Sadly we missed most of the Bachelorette (I was never a Trista fan, but I caught the finale and thought Ryan was a soap star in the making!) Can't wait to see Bob being the "king of the castle!" And I thought he looked great even when he was a bit rounder. He just reminded me of a big teddybear that would have a funny thing to say every time you tickled his tummy! ;-)

Last but not least, I'm THRILLED Jen won Andrew's heart. She's my hometown gal! Good for you, girl!

I'm glad that Jen did not say this because she would've been lying. To me, her answer was a very classy way of dealing with the question. She was put on the spot and handled it well.

I loved Andrew's family! :D I was surprised at how restrained they were when it came time for them to tell Andrew what they thought. (Of course, excluding Adam's telling Andrew about the boyfriend conversation, which he had to do).

I loved how everything worked out in the end. I had already been thinking that it was so appropriate for it to be raining and then Andrew said it, too! I really think that they will have a great future together. :D

LOL, cuz!!! You always have a WAY with words!!

Now tell us how you REALLY feel... :p

I could NOT agree more! Kirsten in the family with all those "FEMALES"???? I could just imagine her being the new "princess" of the vineyard and telling Mama where to go! Woooo!

accomp: AMEN! Kirsten never bit her tongue when it came to putting people down. I prefer no words to nasty words or an out and out LIE. Heck, I do that on the boards all day long! :p

JeffinBigD: I thought the same thing about the big brother. He did it very tactfully also, but with the big brother kind of advice that I think Andrew respects.

It's amazing how different he is in my eyes now! Up until the last show I thought he was just a young doofus being reeled in my the spider woman! Now I know he was raised well, especially after meeting his family who, BTW, I would put up with ANYDAY!

I was feeling sorry for the family because they were trying to show such restraint, but you could tell that they couldn’t stand Kirsten. Under normal circumstances it’s not that bad if you’re not crazy about the person your brother or son marries since you don’t have to be around them all the time. But these people all have to pretty much live together! I would slit my wrists if I had to live with Kirsten. She reminded me of Helene from the last Bachelor. I just couldn’t believe these guys could stand being around (or listening to) either of them. I think Andrew was more physically attracted to Kirsten. But thank goodness he was smart enough (unlike Aaron) to figure out that there’s more to a relationship than that.
