The Apprentice....the Trump version...watch out for spoilers

I thought she threw a nice party, but forgot who she was working for :confused3 .

She knew exactly who she was working for. I think she was frustrated that the Yahoo people (who admitted it was their first "fundraiser") didn't want them to ask for money. Ummmm..... hello Yahoo people, thats the point of a fundraiser, to raise funds for a charity. Thats why Rebecca went out of her way to include the stuff to ask for donations into the goody bags each attendee received. Now, I would have liked for Trump to have announced how much (if anything) that effort raised for the charity. And IMO, even if Rebecca went over the heads of Yahoo and tried a more "in your face" technique for raising money, it probably would have angered the Yahoo people (who came off looking poorly) who were footing the bill for the entire event. I know that Carolyn was baffled and had a negative confessional about this, but in the end, I believe she was rooting for Rebecca to win.

Rymickey, you mentioned that all the female candidates except for Alla being somewhat incompetent (not the word you chose though, i think) and catty. While Alla was capable of everything, I think she was the catiest of them all!

The 13 week interview is to win the apprentice - one apprentice. Not several.... Never in "reality" tv history (that I know of) has there been one prize at the end then MC asks - do you think we should give so and so the prize too. IMO, as I've said few times. There is NO way that a 24 years old journalist can compete with a Randal. ..... :confused3

Yes, on Survivor they gave Rupert a million as well.
It's Just your opinion that a 24 year old couldn't do the job. As an event planner, I think Rebecca did a better job with the event then Randall. My professional opinion.

Speaking of Atlantic City -- weren't those casinos of Trump's in backruptcy recently? :confused3 Seems odd that he'd be expanding them if they're struggling?

Wasn't this job offered on a previous apprentice?

I think when Donald asked which job they would choose, he had the intentions of hiring both of them... He did state that their answers may have a bearing on his decision. Since they both choose opposite ones, I'm sure he thought it was a good way for him to be able to hire both of them...(that was even my first thought when he made that comment)

The men that weren't especially good at least weren't disruptive (Markus excluded). There were some really nutso women, though. Plus they formed a clique, and Rebecca stayed apart from it. So it wasn't a suprise that they moved her off the team, and it wasn't a reflection on her competence either. Remember, neither Randal nor Rebecca chose anyone from that clique to be a part of the last task.

BTW - I was kind of hoping they'd ask Markus a question last night, just to hear the big goof make a fool out of himself one last time.

I think they are both capable of working for Mr. Trump.

However, I believe that Rebecca will be the more successful one now. Just like American Idol when Clay was the runner-up to Rubin..................Clay became more successful.

Rebecca was offered a job with Yahoo this morning on the Today show!! I imagine she will be extremely successful!!

Why does Randall have to prove anything?
I think he prided himself on being the "nice" guy and that eveyone on the teams liked him etc. This would have sealed the deal. Rebecca's career with Trump was laid in his hands and Randall chose not to give her an opportunity to prove herself. Wherever they both end up, they will do well. I just wish Randall would have ended the show off in a more positve note.JMO

Final boardroom:
Carolyn: Why didn't you put as much concern into the charity portion as Yahoo?
Rebecca: I was trying to please my client and apparantly I made a mistake.
Trump: Who was your client? Is Yahoo your client? I don't think so.
Randall: In my estimation the client for this task was the charity.
Trump: I think so. I think that Elizabeth Glaser was the client. Much more so than Yahoo and I still think you should have raised money. And so do you, right?
Rebecca: I wish we had.

Oh, I agree that Alla was catty, but I also think she and Rebecca were the only two women who would've been capable of handling a position in Trump's company. That being said, I'd take Rebecca over Alla anyday.

If Trump wants Rebecca he won't let her get away. I still don't understand why Trump felt Randall had to prove he was a nice guy so he put the decision in Randall's hands. Maybe I am misinterpreting your other post. IMHO, if Randall needed to prove something, it was that he could be tough.

I understand that's what was said, but unfortunately, I think Rebecca was stuck between a rock and a hard place. I guarantee that if she had gone over the heads of the Yahoo folks and pressed the donation angle, the Yahoo execs would've told Trump they were unhappy because Rebecca went against their wishes. Yahoo sponsered the event and if a multi-billion dollar company tells you to do something, you do it...don't you?

I think Trump wanted her to find a more innovative way to raise funds. Yahoo didn't want "in your face" solicitations. Either way, she missed the boat on this one. Randall knew the client was the charity, Rebecca thought her client was Yahoo.

I still think she has what it takes to be in his organization, but I think this is what cost her the title of Apprentice. Like I said, if Trump wants her, he'll find a way to get her.

BTW, according to Mark in the boardroom, Autism Speaks initially took them in the same direction (not wanting in your face solicitations) but Randall made the decision to make it more of a fundraising event.

I don't understand why everyone's suddenly turned on Randal all over this one decision (which he was forced to make at a really bad time, IMO) :confused3 He was most people's favorite for most of the season and suddenly he's a bad guy for that one choice?

Rebecca will be fine -- actually, she's probably even better off now than if she was offered a job by Trump. Now she can entertain the numerous offers that'll come her way.

Me either.

I'd like to say what a really great season this was. The fact that people are arguing over the finish proves that the audience was involved this year. It's just a shame that last year turned so many people off. There's only one other person I work with that watched season 4, and we had enough people last year that we organized a pool.

This just proves that if you've got a good concept, you should stick with it. Unless you're really desperate, don't try to screw with what made your show popular. That means no stunt casting (book smarts vs. street smarts), no All Star editions (Survivor) and no Family Editions (Amazing Race).

I agree (about the other shows too, except for the All Stars ;) ). Like Trump said, they were both stars.
