The Apprentice....the Trump version...watch out for spoilers

Then she was asked to share the win with Randal - how can she (a journalist - I'm sure she's good at what she does) be compared to Randal (a business man) - a successful business man that gained the respect of every candidate in this years apprentice – yet still ask to share!!

I could have understood this last season - :earsboy:

I don't think she was "asked to share the win". I think that The Donald said, "Randal, should I also hire Rebecca"? That doesn't diminish the fact that Randal won.

But again, honestly, why is this a race issue? Trump did a lot of things this season that he never did on previous Apprentices. Had he ever fired two people at once on the first season? Did he ever fire an entire losing team before? No. He is trying to shake things up.

How about Trump liked them both. He preferred Randall. But he obviously saw a lot of potential in Rebecca that a lot of people have seen too. Perhaps he thought it would be a neat twist to hire both people. Maybe next season he will hire neither person...who knows?

The issue with Randall is just that it was all so...unnecessary. He came across as being petty and it seemed beneath him.

Can't that just be all? Why does it have to be more sinister to some people?

Amen to that.

I was rooting for Rebecca since about the mid-way point, but if she had said what Randal said during the final minutes of the show, I would've been disappointed, too. It's not that Randal isn't qualified for the job (I'm sure he is), but, like Skywalker said, it just seemed "beneath him" to say what he said.

Last week no one could find many negative things to say about Randal - because of a question that Trump proposed and Randal declined now every single thing Randal has done up to the point is being poked fun of... i.e. his house, his company, his successes. I'm saying the aftermath is what is in question.

I'm 100% sure that if roles were reversed, and Rebecca had won and said no to also hiring Randall, there would be the same outcry and surprise at her actions. I haven't visited the sites you referred to but there will always be a small segment of society that are absolute morons. Just because a couple of those morons decide to set up a web site doesn't change the fact that the vast majority of people never once considered race an issue. If roles were reversed, there probably would have been another moronic segment of society creating websites on how women have no place in the business world and are taking all the jobs away from men.

This reminds me of when Ty go voted off Rockstar INXS and he thought it was racially motivated. What kind of message are we sending to young African Americans if we put the blame on racism everytime something doesn't go their way?

Is Donald really paying for Troy to finish school? Troy was something else alright...I wouldn't mind seeing him again on TV.

I saw him on TV--some show where he helps via surprise---people get a new home and then redecorated/remodeled to meet their needs. No idea the name--it may have been on PAX. He's still nice on the eyes. :cloud9:

Haven't read all the posts but geez, how many posts was it b4 the race issue was brought up. I watched the whole season and never thought ONCE about this being an issue. MAYBE if certain people stopped trying to put it on the front burner, people would ALL be treated the same and we could get back to the real reason Randall was being a jerk for not allowing Rebecca to be hired also. :confused3 HMMMM, I wonder if the "racial" issue can be reversed? :rolleyes1 Maybe I should start squaking when someone of a diff color gets something that I felt I was more qualified for? This really burns me sorry. :firefight  Yes he was more qualified but NOT by the color of his skin. Should he have said yes to Rebecca? IMHO Yes.

Actually, they did this on the All-Star Survivor where Amber won, but Mark Burnett created another award for Most Popular and Rupert won also won $1 million. And, of course, Mark Burnett is the creator and producer of The Apprentice. He's all about twists and turns. This is the 5th season of the Apprenctice and once again he was trying a new twist. After hearing Trump on Imus for the last several weeks talking up the big twist ending, I think he was very surprised at Randall's answer.

They also just had Randall on Imus and he tried to use the Gold medal analogy again but Imus wouldn't accept that and said something like "he wasn't asking you to give her the gold medal, you still would have won, but she would have gotten another medal." Randall stuttered about and couldn't come up with a better response. His decision has made his victory not too sweet. Trump was not offering her Randall's job or money, simply a job. Randall lost all my respect last night.

These are my thoughts exactly. Reality shows want to keep you watching...soooo there are some twists, Would you keep watching if it were the same old thing each week? I also think Randal's decision has taken away from his win. I think it would have been better to take Rebecca along with him and be known as a generous guy who is also a smart , tough business man.

My thoughts are if Donald wanted to hire them both, he should've done it in the first place. I blame Mr. Trump not Randall. Trump put Randall on the spot on purpose. It's reality T.V. Has to be some drama. I felt both would've been perfect in his organization, but Donald never proposed this in the past finales. Why put this on Randall. I can't blame Randall for his decision. Thats too bad people are taking this way out of proportion. Blame Trump not Randall. I also heard Yahoo has approached Rebecca for a job.

I just saw a commercial for that show - today (Sunday) on WGN at 5pm EST.

I haven't seen it myslef so I'll be watching today.

See you all next season!

And that won't be the last offer by a long shot. I ddin't read the last 10 pages, so I don't know if this has been discussed. I agree what Randall did was surprising. However, Rebecca is actually getting more out of this by coming in 2nd!!!!!

Randall has a 1 year contract with Trump, then he's back to his own company I would imagine. But Rebecca is in the position to hand pick a job from probably hundreds of offers. And it will be a TRUE position, not just a one year contract working as an apprentice. This is the best thing that could have possibly happened to her. After a year with Trump, she's out of sight, out of mind. Right now, her exposure is off the charts.

I don't think that's what happens. When a company invests a lot of $$$ into training an employee, they are not just going to let a valued employee walk away. If the apprentices perform well, I'm sure theyr contracts are being extended (maybe not with the same conditions though). Look at Bill - he's still around and it's been a couple of years right?

Did anyone just see Randall and Alla on the Radio Music Awards? LOL! Santa wanted to hire an elf. Randall spouts off his whole resume and then Alla tels him she started off as a striper. Santa hires Alla and Randal asks him "why not hire us both?" and Santa says "this is Elf not Elves!" hehehehe. Love when people can make fun of thenselves,

Thats funny :rotfl: wish I would have seen that!! See, we were all on this board calling names and getting all hot and bothered over nothing......

Bill accepted an additional one year contract, and he's leaving soon. Even Bill wasn't offered a permanent position. The other guy Kelly? had a one year contract and that's it. So I still believe Rebecca is in a better position with the choice of many offerings at a time when she is red hot.

Rebecca, Randal and Trump were on Larry King last night, too. Randal was backpeddling and talking about how honored he'd be if Rebecca joined the Trump Organization... but, he still stands by his original decision on the finale.

It's funny now that Rebecca has probably better job offers than the one he got from the likes of Yahoo and Microsoft, to name a few, he wants her to work with him.

I saw that too. I thought it was funny and I was glad they could make fun of the whole thing.

If anyone remembers last season with the Mary Kay Lady and her bedazzler (one of the final two--her pic was the Miss Universe Pageant--she lost).

Saw a commercial today--she's now a spokesperson for bedazzler.

WOW!!! I see her offers have been pouring in!!!!
