The Apprentice....the Trump version...watch out for spoilers

My few comments:

Yahoo only donated b/c during the boardroom portion of the taped show--Donald basically said they better. Yahoo had no choice--and would have looked like a bunch of yahoos to be sponsors present at the finale and then just sit and ignore it. They could should have donated punitively though--what they donated was probably more than what would have been actually raised at the event had fundraising been permitted to take place...they made a corporate error and should have dug deep in their pockets.

As far as Randall--I lost respect--it was not a classy way to handle the answer regardless. There are classier ways to make a victory speech and that wasn't it. He was rubbing in the salt with every word out of his mouth. No--he didn't have to say yes. But I have heard much politer "your fireds" from Donald's mouth.

As far as the Alla and Felicia---they were on the team that got bamboozled when Randall and Rebecca hoodwinked them and got the megaphones. That and the whole Toral thing is what really peeved them. Toral speaking high and mighty of Rebecca probably allowed them to stew and seeth and cause them to spew more venom when the time was right. The way Jennifer responded about liking Randall the minute she saw him--that is the way to respond. Alla's comments were unncessessary.

As far as Rebecca losing as PM---look at the women...how many were fired because of attitude and poor workmanship and difficulty to work with--I can think of 3--Melissa, Alla, and the chick that looks like Reese Witherspoon. So if they were fired because they COULDN't be managed...I think Trump did look past that a bit for Rebecca. B/c if they COULDN'T be managed--the loss was blamed on that. Even when Randall was brought over to the girls team--his presence wasn't even enough to score them a win. Heck--he barely looked like he did anything at all during that episode.

Randall was deserving to win--and sometimes in the business world it is best to keep your friends close and enemies closer. He quite possibly has permitted his competition to go to the competitors--and one day in the business world...it may come to bite him in the butt. His "I run multi-million dollar business and she writes about it"--coming out of Alla's mouth would have been seen as venomous and witchy.

One of the girls was right---in business, men get away with soo much more.

I don't get this :confused3 YOU are trying to turn this into a race issue - which it is not!

I didn't turn anything into anything. I just feel that Rebecca was a nice girl, but no where in the same category as Randal. Randal not only has the resume but he had the personality. She only won one task, and that was due to Randal giving her that win. IMO, she shouldn't have been in the final two. I'll even take it a step further and say that Rebecca up against Randal was unfair to Rebecca. Alla IMO should have been in the final two. Then it could have went either way. But to ask Randal in front of people should he let his coat tail come along for ride -why? Three seasons have come and go and usually the final two are usually remarkable - when I felt Donald should hire both - but to even say the Rebecca that 24 year old journalist is in the same category than Randal is in insult. Come on.....

Where did you get the idea that Randall was asked to share his winnings? He was just asked if Revecca should be hired too. She did just as good of a job as Randall. Just too many jealous women not backing her.
Only in america would all this seem racist.

The 13 week interview is to win the apprentice - one apprentice. Not several.... Never in "reality" tv history (that I know of) has there been one prize at the end then MC asks - do you think we should give so and so the prize too. IMO, as I've said few times. There is NO way that a 24 years old journalist can compete with a Randal. It doesn't matter what color Randal is. No one has been more qualified for the Apprentice since Bill (of Season One). He too was an obvious pick vs. the black guy. Bill really did have that something special. That same something special that Randal has - but to even suggest that Rebecca could go against Randal and win - come on.... Her last task alone would have led to a firing in any other week. She's PM on a fundraising project yet she raised no money. The Aids foundation only has 1 visible banner. Does that really make sense? She could have had Aid foundation info on all of those flat screen tv's. Randal's team had to incorporate the auction because it was only suppose to be a softball game. After that horribe lose - she could still possibly be the apprentice - come on!!! - yet Randal was asked to share the spot light..... :confused3

The Yahoo yahoos didn't want her RAISING money at the event.

Why make this a racial issue? It demeans everyone including Randal.

Yahoo........Randalll won! I knew he was the obvious winner way back when. My prediction came true.

Enjoyed the show. Looking forward to the next Apprentice.

Absolutely!

Yes Yahoo didn't want Rebecca raising money, but Donald also told Rebecca this fundraiser was for the Glaser Foundation. Yahoo was just invited to come to the fundraiser. She missed the whole point of what she was doing and ended up at that time raising nothing. Donald said she was the boss or leader and she should have pushed for the Foundation.

Randal told Donald, you hire an Apprentice, not Apprenteee's.

Exactly, it was a FUND raising event and Rebecca's team didnt raise any FUNDS. The Yahoo execs appeared to be concerned with the WAY the donations were going to be asked. Maybe if Rebecca and her team would have come up with an unintrusive and creative way such as a silent auction to raise funds that night and presented that idea to the Yahoo execs, then they may have changed their minds. Even George and Trump was startled that they didnt raise any FUNDS.

Who's team was Markus and Clay on during the techno expo challenge where Randall smoked Rebecca. Thats right they were on Randall's team. Randall took 2 unmanageable people there and did a great job with them.

Also, compare Rebecca to Kendra last season. Kendra did much more impressive work. Remember when Kendra made the car brochure basically by herself. We didnt see anything like that from Rebecca this season.

They just had Randall and Donald on Today show...

They mentioned that Randall made a very bold statement when he told Donald not to hire Rebecca and Randalls comment to that was..

It's as if someone won a gold medal and was asked to give the medal to the silver medalist.. he said "No way, absolutely not!" Donald then said.. Randall is a tough guy!

I agree with Donald.. Randall is tough! :teeth:

They are going to interview Rebecca in a bit too

They just had Trump and Randall on the Today Show. Katie and Matt asked about Rebecca. Randall used the analogy of winning a gold medal and being asked to give it to the silver medalist.

Trump commented that 99% would have agreed to giving her the job and that Randall is one tough cookie. (Not his exact words, but that was the jist of it.)

Clearly, from the ads preceding last night's broadcast, they expected a different response but the choice was given to Randall and they're respecting his decision. (And on a personal note, I didn't like the attempt to change the rules at the end and think that Randall was 100% right.)

They're going to have Rebecca on later. :flower:

LOL Princess, looks like two of us are Today Show junkies. :teeth:

Do only stingy people become rich? or does something happen after they have all the money?

I realize Rebecca should of put her foot down to Yahoo, and figured out a way to get money from people AT the event. When they went home with envelopes, I was thinking she would not bring in "much" but some people would certainly send back the envelope for such a worthy cause.

NOTHING???? How many VIP's were there, and not ONE person sent back an envelope when they knew it was a CHARITY event? They must of thought the charity was THEM, they got a free evening at a comedy show.

God, some people make me sick. :guilty:

There's no way to tell how much the Yahoo "friends" sent in after the event.

How could someone not have a list at an auction and not think 30% chance of rain was enough reason to have a back-up plan?

I think Randall didn't want Rebecca hired because of what she said in the final boardroom, which is petty and childish. They were both strong candidates, but Randall coasted by on the efforts of others more than Rebecca. Rebecca always had the weaker team and had to make a better personal effort.

I agree with Randal's decision. If he said yes, it would of taken the "moment" away from him. He said no because it was a competition, and he won. I liked his analogy about the medals. It is spot on! Donald has every right to hire Rebecca if he feels she could be an asset to his company. he did not need to do it at that moment, Randal's moment.

I bet he will hire her. Look at what he has done with Troy...he could not bring himself to hire him ONLY because he did not have the education. If he had all those little pieces of paper called degrees, he would of given Bill more of a run for his money. Donald is putting Troy through school. I am sure once he finishes, Donald will have a job for him.

Rebecca was just on the Today Show and said that if she had been the winner she would have agreed to giving Randall the other job.

Then they had an exec from Yahoo come on and offer her a position with them. I'm sure that she's entertaining many offers. :flower:

Actually, they did this on the All-Star Survivor where Amber won, but Mark Burnett created another award for Most Popular and Rupert won also won $1 million. And, of course, Mark Burnett is the creator and producer of The Apprentice. He's all about twists and turns. This is the 5th season of the Apprenctice and once again he was trying a new twist. After hearing Trump on Imus for the last several weeks talking up the big twist ending, I think he was very surprised at Randall's answer.

They also just had Randall on Imus and he tried to use the Gold medal analogy again but Imus wouldn't accept that and said something like "he wasn't asking you to give her the gold medal, you still would have won, but she would have gotten another medal." Randall stuttered about and couldn't come up with a better response. His decision has made his victory not too sweet. Trump was not offering her Randall's job or money, simply a job. Randall lost all my respect last night.

I fell asleep 15 minutes before the end of the show last night, can you believe it? Can someone re-cap exactly what happened in the last 15 minutes when Rebecca & Randall were brought to the Boardroom? I'm gathering bits & pieces through the posts, but a recap would be great!

I missed the Today show... so, Rebecca was on? What type of Yahoo job was offered to her?

I live in central time so I guess this is coming up in our next hour.

I still think the Donald was in the wrong. He should have never put Randal in the position to have to defend himself for something he clearly won. I also feel sorry for Rebecca. Losing the title was heartbreaking enough but being rejected twice ?? ...... shame on DT. However, I think Randal's actions clearly demonstrates to the Donald that he can be one tough apprentice.

Trump obviously wanted to also hire Rebecca, and felt she would be a valuable employee and enhance the Trump organization. Randal clearly showed he was not thinking about the best interests of the company--he was only thinking about himself! Even my 10 year old DD couldn't believe he was so 'selfish'!!
