Cast: Mom (me) 44, Dad 45, DS14 (Spanky), DD6 (Princess)
After many months of planning, our trip is finally here. Too bad we are all so exhausted from getting up at 3:45am to catch an Airtran flight out of Buffalo at 6:30am that we walk around in a daze for most of the day. My plan backfires....I figured if we get to disney early, we have the whole day to spend doing whatever. We arrive at CBR via Tiffany TownCar by 12:00. I had faxed my building request & early check in request, but, the computers were down, so no such luck on either. We were given complimentary 1 day passes to be used by 2006 for the inconvenience, so we were pleased. Guess we have to come back down soon, darn. We weren't able to get into our room until 3:00, so we checked out the hotel grounds, had some lunch in the food court, & basically hung around looking for hospitality phones to check & see if the room was ready. Yippee!!! We get into our room 4519 Jamaica Bldg 45.
Now we are supposed to meet friends at ESPN Club at 5:00. That is cutting it close. The kids want to swim & ds wants to go to Downtown Disney. We decide to let him go on his own. We have 3 way family talk plan & we use the phones often on this trip. So off the 3 of us go to Epcot, planning on cutting thru to get to the boardwalk & ESPN. We get off the bus & the thunder, lightning & rain let loose! We cannot get to ESPN for over an hour because we are stuck under the overhang where the buses let you out. Major lightning! Finally it all lets up & we run thru Epcot. I tell my husband I cannot walk another step & collapse on a bench in UK. He runs to get our friends who have already eaten at ESPN & takes them to me. A great reunion, a little more walking, Spaceship Earth, & back to CBR for bed. Our DS had been stranded down at Virgin MegaStore (poor thing), but arrived back at CBR no worse for wear. The 4 of us fell into bed exhausted, but in Disney!
