~ The Amazing Race ~ Season 16 ~

Carol, Brandy and Joe showed the world how bitter, disrespectful and narcissist they were.
I think Carol seemed a little embarrassed by Brandy's outburst. I noticed she put her hand to her face or something. I felt sorry for Carol and I think she was uncomfortable with the whole thing.

sooooo disapointed :(

Me too.

I really wanted Jet and Cord to win, with Brent and Caite coming in second, and leaving Dan and Jordan in the dust.

I couldn't believe Jordan put his bag behind Caite's at the airport and thought THAT would put them in second place at the airport counter. No, you got there AFTER the other two teams did, you belonged in THIRD place at the counter. Jerks. Not that it mattered in the grand scheme of things, but still. Just rude.

And thanks to the stupid flight attendant for allowing Dan and Jordan to move up to first class they got such a head start. :sad2:

And Jet and Cord not realizing soon enough that he had to spin in order to read the words, oh my gravy!! :headache: They might have won had they done that part quicker, darn it!

And that stupid dark haired lesbian, Brandy, acting the way she did at the end. How mature! Caite acted way more mature than she did. What a poor loser!!

Why did it have to the the Whinier Brothers. I was so hoping they would end up with Brent and Caitie's cab driver.

I thought the finale was a little anti-climatic. The tasks seemed too easy for the $1,000,000 leg. In any case, a bad Amazing Race is still better than most shows on TV these days. Now we have to wait until the Fall for more.:sad1:

DH and I said the same thing. And I really wish they would make them drive themselves on the last leg or at least for part of it.

The clue to finding the final pit stop was way to easy. I would really like to see them test the memories of the route by making them know a mixture of who won the leg, who was elimanated, roadblock or detour options, country or city they are in. That would make it more challenging.

OMG! Brandy was so nasty, she should had some manners and respect for the show, she kind of called her dumb to her face although she was on the mat, at least Catie showed more manners being so young and so called 'dumb'.

The cowboys should had jump online as soon as Catie and Brent moved, but I think they' are not like that, they might be cowboys but they show more respect.

They didn't win the millions but I think they won the respect from all of us the fans (at least most) for their positive attitude, the respect to the other teams, to the people they encounter all over the world and to themselves. They never called cab drivers dumb A or call each other names, no bitterness at all.

Money can buy you a lot of things, but not kindness and respect for others.

Carol, Brandy and Joe showed the world how bitter, disrespectful and narcissist they were.
You've got to remember that Caite had years of training in how to be courteous as a pageant contestant. Evidently, she didn't pay so much attention to geography, but she did pay attention to being gracious to other contestants.

Could you imagine having them drive themselves in SF? Just finding a place to park would have made the challenge more interesting. Driving in SF is easy. Parking is what makes it difficult.

I'm watching and it's good. :goodvibes

I have to say that as much as I love this show, season after season I'm so upset at how badly some of the teams treat people. Brent and Caite deserve to lose based on how mean they were to their poor cab driver. :headache:

What about the way Dan and Jordan treated their cab drivers? They flipped out just about every time they entered a cab. Even last night he made a comment about being in the US and the cab drivers still can't understand. :confused3

Here's an interesting interview of Carole & Brandy that I read awhile ago.

At one point, Brandy said...I was really complimentary of Caite, and had thought at one point - because I used to scout and place models on contract in Asia - about talking to her about her career.

:headache:

It was a disadvantage to get to leave first..they got a lot less sleep than the others. Might have slowed them down first instance in the climb and even with thinking.

I think they all get 12 hours rest based on the time they finished the last leg. Other than having to wait at the airport, I don't think there was nay less sleep.

But even if they got 12 hours of sleep, they had to get up earlier. I could get 12 hours of sleep if I went to bed at 3 pm and got up at 3 am, but it would not be the same sleep for me, if I got to sleep in longer in the night. Plus they had to hang at the airport longer, which means they will be awake longer the next day when they had to do the climb. I just don't like how they do it. I also don't think they ended up with an advantage (either of the first two teams) when they all end up on the same plane. I also think they should not be allowed to go up to first class, since that is really dependant on the airline staff..and that is seldom allowed 'in real life'.

I guess I'm the only one happy with the winners!

I have liked them from the start. They were mostly nice to other teams and each other, other than the airport stunt last night and the taxi tantrum in Shanghai. Even though they bickered amongst themselves at times, it was in a good-natured way, as many siblings do. They laughed at themselves and had fun.

The cowboys ran a great race and I would have been happy to see them win, too. I am just thrilled that Brent and Caite came in third. If anyone ever needed proof about how fake beauty pageants are, watching her and listening to her potty mouth should be it. :rotfl:

That dark haired one just made herself look like a complete horse's patootie on national TV. What a witch. It's a game...get over it!!!!
::yes:: That's exactly what I said to my husband. Get over it. It was hysterical how the blond one was turning away and covering her face like "I don't know you" when she was on her tirade.

So bummed. Loved Jet's comment on being proud of the race and coming in 2nd. Would love to see what they are doing now.
Probably back on the pro rodeo circuit.

I thought that the final task was way too easy!

I was a little disappointed with the winners, I really wanted the cowboys. Noone that I want to win on here ever wins!

I just finished watching it, and WOW!!! Brandy was a total harpy.

I'm happy that Dan and Jordan won because the only other team that I've rooted for that's won is Uchenna and Joyce from Season 7. I still like the cowboys though :upsidedow.

I hope next season actually proves something difficult to the racers. (Repelling up a building and climbing across from one Ferris Wheel car to another doesn't seem all that challenging, but what do I known :thumbsup2)

I'm as mad as a wet hen, darn it.:rotfl: I totally agree with you. My dh told me last nite, I should e-mail The Amazing Race and tell him of my displeasure.

CBS should be ashamed of themselves for showing this banter between Caite and Brandy. Never before have they shown an exchange of words between contestants, or an after show.

Not only did they show it, but Phil stirred the pot!

Saturday night, we realized my DD, her friend and I had the final three teams in their office Amazing Race pool -- so that proved interesting.

I had the cowboys and truly thought I had a good chance at winning. The brothers putting the backpack in line ahead of the cowboys bothered me, but it really didn't change the outcome of the game.

My DD won the office pool and we had decided before hand there would be no splitting of the pot, so she's one rich gal and I'm only slightly bitter. :rotfl2:

Thought the cowboys did themselves proud and they played an exemplary game.

They can't buy first class tickets -- they have to get economy or coach tickets. But I think they said that they asked a flight attendant and she put them there, so they didn't get charged for it, so that would be why it was OK.

Yep, I think that move to 1st class won it for them.

DS said: "I hope that flight attendant is watching the show, realizes he/she helped the wrong team, and feels really bad about it now." :rotfl:

I also think it made the whole show pretty anticlimactic.

The Coit Tower challenge would have been much more fun to watch with multiple teams there at the same time.

Although I agree that Jett and Cord certainly could have done better on the Lucasfilm challenge. Figure out a way to get around that bratty kid already, and pay attention to what the other teams are doing. You think they're just spinning around for fun?
:confused3

Maybe they need to change up the final task a bit. Everyone is on to the put the race in order thing now. The one brother had his race notes right there ready to go. I think that challenge needs to be done from memory... no notes allowed. Also, isn't this the first time they've allowed both partners to do the final task together? It seemed waaay easier than past seasons.

I didn't realize how much I wanted the cowboys to win until I saw Dan and Jordan run into the stadium first. Bleech!

And the lesbians. Sheesh!! I guess it never occurred to her that maybe being able to eliminate them was worth more than a million dollars to the models. I must say though that her response was great. "I am dealing with it. I'm up here and you aren't."

LOVED that comment!

I thought this was an entertaining season.
I wish the cowboys would have won though. Maybe they'll be invited back for an all star AR some day. :thumbsup2

I do believe you are correct. I don't remember exactly how they did it on the Family edition, but I do believe that every other year it was just one team member do it.

I like how they did it the season Marge and Luke were on. Had to sort thru a HUGE pile looking for a surf board with a decal that matched one of the things they did on the race and put it in order of legs.

And when I say make it harder, I mean make it harder. If each team had kept all of the route papers they got, they should be able to know these.
As an example of Total recall of the legs:
Leg one - Pit Stop City - Vaplaraizo, Winners - Jeff & Jordan, Out - Dana & Adrian.
Leg two - Detour - Condor Consternation, Pit Stop Site - Onces Bellavista Farms, Out - Jody & Shannon.
Leg three - Destination Country - Argentina, Detour - Horse Sense, Winners - Jet & Cord.

That would make have them to remember more and make sure they hung onto those directions.
