~ The Amazing Race ~ Season 16 ~

They just wrote it down on a piece of paper and pen from the hotel or something, the rules said not to bring it ahead of time before the race, but I think that does not include writing stuff while in the race.
I noticed in the past other teams had bought books from the airports gift shops.

I don't have an issue with a team writing down the information, I just want to see it be a lot harder.

Like I previously stated, if they had to recall more info about each leg, stuff they might not think about writing down, but would be able to find if they kept every single route marker sheet they had gotten during the race, it would be more of a challenge.

Giving them 8 cards of those racers already out of the game in order, plus 3 cards for the non-elims and tell them to put them in order - that was just too easy. With a note, even easier.

Make them work hard all the way to the end for the money, not coast the last leg...which truefully I think this last leg was far to easy in all aspects of it. Hoisting themselves up Coit Tower was the most physical thing they did and then, it was just one of them, it didn't push both of them.

I agree! I would have liked their challenges to been a lot harder. I'd also like to know how far behind the cowboys were.

I wonder what the cab driver was thinking when the one brother (Jordan?) was ranting and raving in the cab? I think that I would have stopped and refused to go any farther until they left my cab.

I'm a week behind and just watched this episode last night (sorry, daughter's graduation from college takes precedence :thumbsup2), but I was looking specifically for a comment on the brother's behavior. That ugly American attitude give me the chills every time I see it in AR. That blow up alone makes me hope that they didn't win AR. (Can't you understand fol-low? Hey stupid, there are a lot of Chinese words you probably wouldn't understand either.)

once just once i'd love to see a cabby kick a team out and leave them stranded at the side of the road for being rude.

come one - just once. then maybe other teams wouldn't be such *****s

... Hopefully Google gets their translation service set up so I can just whip out my Android device and have everything translated for the cabbies.
Personal celphones are not allowed. That's why people are always begging them from strangers.

I was thinking that, too. LOL!!! Actually, I've noticed that we never see them going through customs and immigration. I wonder if there is some rule against filming in there or if they must have it all packed and put away for the inspectors. However, they will show them all standing around and waiting to get off the plane, etc.
Generally, you are not allowed to film/take pictures of customs areas.
The whole thing with the cameraman raises lots of questions for me. Does a team keep the same camera crew through the entire race? Certainly some crews are better/faster than others. If your crew doesn't like the team their assigned to, is it possible for them to slow them down just a bit. I mean just a couple of minutes here and there could add up. Can befriending your team help. (For example, the coconut challenge this year. The camera would swing back and show them leaving one behind. If your cameraman liked you, could he make a big deal of doing that and "inadvertently" call it to a team's attention that they left one? Or when they run past a clue box and the cameraman zooms in on it? Does that ever help the teams. Or could they do it as another team is running up to it thereby giving away its location.

Does anyone know? Just curious.
I bet that they have multiple camera guys who trade out throughout the day so they can get meals and potty breaks.

Me too but the cabbie probably likes the idea of being on film.

I posted a link a few pages back with lots of info on the cameramen. It said that each team has one crew that stays with them for the leg, but they trade off at pit stops so less loyalty builds. There are also other camera crews in specific locations, like clue boxes, road blocks, detours, etc.

There are tons of time adjustments done at the pit stop to account for camera crew bathroom breaks, etc. That's why they don't show us the times more often. If we saw two teams come in 10 minutes apart, then leave an hour apart in the next episode, people would write in and question it. ;) Of course, it's more suspenseful, too, if they can edit it to look like two teams are neck and neck heading toward the pit stop, when they are really hours apart.
