~ The Amazing Race ~ Season 16 ~

I just did a web chat w/ Brandi and Carol on Comcast. I asked them what the hardest part of the race was-- carol said lack of sleep and brandi said she hated the trenches.

in the web cast they state that they didn't know the other teams didn't like them. B&C stated they were always nice and respectful of the other teams. They didn't see the uturn coming. they were surprised at how many teams disliked them after watching the video. They didnt see their previous traveling as a threat to the other teams.

interesting to follow along.

I still want the Cowboys to win!!!
As other mentioned the Cowboys have been fair players. they haven't bad mouthed anyone. At first I wasn't too sure but they certainly have my vote. I do find it interesting that they don't use foul language. They have creative words instead!

Of all the things I would packed for AR, I would never have thought of a pitch counter.

What other unusual but useful items have come out from other racers?

BTW, if I would have packed duct tape it would have been put it over somebody's mouth by now. :rolleyes1

im wondering how many people in other countries know about this now.

i was surprised (not sure why) when we found out there was an Aisian AR. seems to me that a lot of the places they could would know what's going on.

most people see to want to help out the crazy strangers

My son watches the Asian Amazing Race online for a while, there is also one in Argentina.

They are cops, the think like cops :goodvibes

I was watching the secret scenes last night and Brandy was so nasty talking about Catie, all her interviews were to trash her and how dummy she was, how stupid she was. So stupid that they manage to kick out of the race.
When they called the other teams too, they were just trashing and mocking Catie.

She really was over the top about her. As you said, Caite is in the race....they are not. So who is stupid?

I was SOOOOOO happy with last nights elimination! Those two were rude from the beginning.

exactly! the u turns are there to use them if you want to use it, she was saying that it was a waste because other teams were stronger, well they didn't feel like u turning the other teams because they said that they rather lost to them than to the girls, right there they knew that the other teams were stronger too, besides is not the first time that teams U turn other teams based on personal attacks, its all part of the game.
She was so out of line and if she thinks she is so smart and mature she should act like one. :surfweb:

I don't fault any team for using a uturn or a yield. However, I think it's crazy to use it on a team you dislike instead of a team that is stronger than you. The point of the game is to win $1 million dollars, not to make friends.

While the uturns and yields are part of the game, I can understand why a player would be angry about falling victim to one. If you're going to lose, you want to lose on your own accord, not because of someone else's actions.

I'm sure none of us would smile and say good job, if we were in their shoes.

Has there ever been a team that handled a yield/unturn well? I remember Colin giving one team (maybe Chip and Kim?) the evil eye while he and Christy waited out their yield.

Speaking of smart things to pack, anyone remember Ian's wife packing disposable underwear?

Yes, Brent and Caite hated Brandy and Carol, but I think you could also say they were a threat as in, they were a strong team. As far as the detectives, I don't consider them strong. They had a couple of good legs, but they have been struggling ever since. The short guy has some kind of asthma going on, so they would lose in a foot race. I think it was a good decision to u-turn them. Though, it slooked scary close that the detectives were going to go out. Could have been editing, but it looked like Brandy/Carol caught up to them.

Yes I think it was editing - since neither of them were at the Zip Line at the same time or any other challenge.

Glad to see the ladies leave - They were mean - My family likes to watch for the spirit of the competition - not nastiness.

I remember that! IIRC they showed a shot of both of them wearing their disposable underwear after a challenge they basically striped down for. Too funny!

During the UTurn did C&B forget the ice cream from the truck. I am not sure if it was just editing but it didn't look like either one of them grabbed the box from the truck. I thought for sure they forgot but they ended up w/ the clue so maybe they didnt'??

I thought it looked like that too. I rewound to look again. The camera didn't ZOOM in on any boxes of ice cream, so I figured I saw things wrong. But one of them did ask the other if they had forgot something. The other one squawked that they had everything. I guess they could have edited it out, but it looks like that would have been a moment to show.

What is with the the video on Yoo-tube. How would Brandi know about Caite having a video.

I think she was talking about the video a few years ago, when she messed up at the beauty pageant. It was fairly well publicized.

Haven't seen them say anything to their face. It has been mostly in the interviews or when Brandy is complaining about something. She really is a *****.

Not to mention that other teams have had issues with Carol and Brandy as well.

While we don't see direct nastiness every show--how is it possible for many teams to not like one team (and then befriend the allegedly "stupid" team) if they were as nice as pie?

It is illogical--the only logical conclusion is that Carol and Brandy come across that way to most everyone on the race.

It takes someone truly nice to poke fun at someone who made a mistake as a minor, right?

They were strong. They never came out last like the cowboys, they hardly made mistakes like the other teams, they made the U turn task and still were behind the cowboys and the cops on the chain counting challenge, I don't think it was stupid move, they were very strong and smart.

Interesting--thanks for posting that!

I am a firm believer --that when you have such an intense dislike for someone, that no matter what you do, it will come across.

Even if you are as polite as can be (meaning--all the regular formalities of etiquette one would have with a person), it is glaringly obvious if you are doing it out of a sense of duty rather than out of being a genuinely nice person.

They may not have been aware, but maybe they are now and will reflect on how they could have behaved differently.

On one of those videos Catie mentioned that she knew that other teams were very strong, she mentioned all the teams and she said that they were always nice and had help them and that they rather lose to one of those teams because they had more respect for them, so she knew that they could had use it on another team, is not like she was so stupid like BnC mentioned on every single interview.

Also the Cowboys mentioned that some people were complaining about some of the hotels they had stayed at, about the food and the facilities, and how they didn't care, they were there to enjoy the race, I figured it was the girls because back in Peru Carol mentioned how she loved the 5 star hotels and the spas.

That is just crazy to me.

If you took the time to sign up for the show, why wouldn't you play to win? :confused3 The whole I would rather lose to team XYZ is a bunch of crap. It sounds nice, but give me a break.

It's a race not summer camp. You're there to win not make friends.

I don't care how much I disliked a team. If I felt I could beat them in a foot race or strength task, I would do all I could to keep them around for as long as possible.

They were not that closed because of the videos, Phil had a long chat with the cops and the girls didn't arrive like right after them.
