~ The Amazing Race ~ Season 16 ~

That is just crazy to me.

If you took the time to sign up for the show, why wouldn't you play to win? :confused3 The whole I would rather lose to team XYZ is a bunch of crap. It sounds nice, but give me a break.

It's a race not summer camp. You're there to win not make friends.

I don't care how much I disliked a team. If I felt I could beat them in a foot race or strength task, I would do all I could to keep them around for as long as possible.

I think they are playing it to win, they noticed how the cowboys made so many mistakes on few legs and almost were eliminated, the girls hardly ever made big mistakes, like with the coconut, the cops made mistakes that cost them time too, the girls were very consistent on all their legs, even if they didn't win one leg, yes they are not there to make friends, but the girls were not very friendly to all the teams, and they mentioned that they rather be in good terms with the other teams on the rest of the legs.

I think the girls were stronger that the cops if it comes to a foot race, same thing with the cowboys, the brothers maybe not, but they made their decision and if it comes back and hurt them at the end oh well, I think they feel good that they got them out.

Oh, I didn't take it as that they intend/expect/prefer to lose; just that if they don't win, they want the winning team to NOT be Carol & Brandy.

Me too.

They were strong. They never came out last like the cowboys, they hardly made mistakes like the other teams, they made the U turn task and still were behind the cowboys and the cops on the chain counting challenge, I don't think it was stupid move, they were very strong and smart.

It was a little disingenuous for the ladies to suggest that they were one of the weaker teams and so the U turn was wasted. How many races have been won or lost on a cab ride? The ladies were strong and they have rocked some of the legs of the race. They are well traveled adn made no sevret of that, they are able to communicate in several languages and never hid that. I would have tried to eliminate tham too.

They are just bitter, bitter women.

Exactly! They spoke many languages, they didn't got lost many times like other teams, also girl teams tend to have more luck catching cabs, getting directions etc.
I think it was a good move. popcorn::

Agreed! ::yes::

Yes, yes, yes. The ladies we saw making the comments at the end of the show are the ladies that the teams have seen since day one. Nasty comments, self-centred and self-serving. Thrilled with the last teams left. Not thrilled that the show will soon be over.
Can you imagine having to have those two still "racing" with you, even though they are eliminated? Non-stop digs, I would think. :sad2:

i didn't take it as playing to lose either - it wasnt game play it was personal and the fact that other teams wanted the C&B out too just made it look like they caved to them but in reality it was very very personal for Caite - she HATED them and even if it meant taking a 6 hour penelty and being the last to leave the next day at that point they ould have done it they hated them that much

Since the Cops UTurned one team that wasn't a huge threat and orchestrated the UTurn for the other team which wasn't there biggest threat. I would contend that they are the real idiots.

Maybe it's poetic justice that on a reality show, the obnoxious people were taken out by the nice guys for a change. :goodvibes

I still say that B and C had there minds made up as soon as they found out about the u-turn. The cops didn't orchestrate that choice.

I agree with all of this.

I think the cops validated B&C's choice. They didn't persuade them at all.

Well ... we will have to agree to disagree on your assessment of the Cops being "nice guys" :rotfl:.

I don't think they have done anything to anyone in the game, not that I remember anyway.

My son watches the Asian Amazing Race online for a while, there is also one in Argentina.

I didn't realize until Sunday night that there were other versions of TAR. Do they also travel around the world or do they stay more local to their country?

isn't it amazing how much of your personal life gets dragged out when you decide to go on a reality show.

i'm pretty sure caite through all that "stupid answer" was long in the past but here we go front and centre and way more people now know about it. the cop must be embarrassed, ashamed (or one would hope) that his indiscretion has come out - must not be too serious if he's just on desk duty and not full out suspended but still for the "world" to know about it now.

no one as a spotless record - ok no adult does - there's something in everyone's past (not saying illegal) that you don't want out and the quickest way to get that affair, cheating on an exam, got in a fight, was stupid during spring break to come to light is to go on reality tv. first day BAM it's out there.

What else have they done rude to Brent/Caite, though? Before they started being rude back, that is? All I remember is the tiara comment, and they didn't say that to them, it was repeated to them later by another team. (I think most episodes are still on my DVR, I'm going to have to go back and check who told them. Was it the cops? Feeding the fire already so early in the game? :rotfl: ) Sure, there has probably been more going on between the two teams off-screen, but I certainly won't assume that it was one-sided.
Interesting! I just went back and looked and it was Louie and Michael that told Caite about the tiara comment way back at the start of the race. Trying to stir the pot from the beginning! :rotfl:

I still like the cops, but Caite and Brent??? Nice??? :scared1: I'll have to disagree with your assessment as well. ;)

Actually, I was referring to the comment about the cops orchestrating the u-turn. I don't think of B and C as one of the nicer teams.

I guess I can see the cops being characterized as nice guys. I have a feeling they have the potential to get mean in a hurry though. I'd certainly be on my guard if I were racing against them.

The cowboys are definitely my favorite team (and my vote to get the nice guys designation) and I'd love to see them win it all. :thumbsup2

After Sunday's elimination, I'd actually be OK with any of the remaining teams winning though.
