~ The Amazing Race ~ Season 16 ~

Boy, did anyone else feel the show should have been two hours? I felt the house painting task was cut way too short. They had the father/daughter team painting the wrong house (hilarious with the translation of the owners/workers) and then all of a sudden they are running to the pit stop.

What type of disability does Jordan have? Dyslexia? And Caitie saying Danke when they handed her the clue at the painting task. I am sorry those who support her...not too bright. The cowboys need to pay attention to the clue. They wouldn't have made such a stupid mistake exchanging money to Brazilian.

Do not like the short dark haired one from the dating girls. I am sorry the husband/wife team was eliminated, they seemed really nice.

Oh my god, it was so funny when they were painting the wrong house, the painters were saying that they didn't know how to paint and that where they came from, that they damage their work :rotfl: poor guys.

I agree with you about that lady, she was hoping for some mechanical problem with the plane, come on :sad2: The cowboys... Brazil and Chile? 2 different countries I hope they learn their lesson, besides when you go to Latin America they would take dollars any time, no problem. I felt bad for the couple that was eliminated :( they seemed nice and the husband tried so hard, poor him.

Cannot wait for next week....

Great first episode!!! Love Jordan and Jeff!!! :lovestruc I also thought Miss Teen South Carolina was cute and I felt for her with the other teams making fun of her - not cool! :sad2: It looks like we may have our villians already.

I made DH watch with me and he enjoyed it too. I love TAR! :cool1:

Oh I know, poor girl, I'm sure she had heard enough of that since it was all over the internet, people make mistakes, its not cool to make fun of her like that, you never know when you might need help :rolleyes1 It was one of the brothers, they would go perfect with the 2 girls team.

I was really happy to see Jeff and Jordan come in first, good for them!

I felt sorry for the married couple that was eliminated, he tried so hard, even a second time. And his wife was still so supportive of him. That was sweet.

I can't stand the gay brother. Making fun of, and telling everyone who would listen, about the beauty queen contestant's blunder, that was just mean and nasty. I hope they go home soon!

I like the Dad and Daughter team, felt bad for them painting the inside of the house when they were supposed to paint outside. Oops.

The Grandma and Granddaughter are nice too, but probably won't go far. :(

I don't like the lesbian women either. Mean and nasty right off the bat.

I don't think I like the couple that they showed next week, trying to let others join them in the line at the airport ticket counter. Cutting in line shouldn't be allowed. If they do that, they should incur that 30-minute penalty before they can be checked in on the mat by Phil. JMHO.

Or his annoying "I love you bro" every five minutes. (I'm not sure which one was saying it) but it was annoying!

I don't mind discussing AR in real time or what people have seen out in the news regarding AR but I don't care for spoilers that people get from web sites that say who is next to go or who wins AR.
Yes, I agree! I am an non-spoiler person. AFAIK, NO Amazing Race thread has ever been a spoiler thread.

That doesn't mean that we can't discuss the show after it airs. It just means that I don't want to know the final 2-3-4-whatever before it happens on the show.

I agree. Saving spots, I don't like that. But it could backfire, you know how it is in the race, you never know when would you need help and from who, they shouldn't make enemies this early, but we'll see.

I loved the grandma team, they worked so hard and I hope they go far, the dad and daughter were nice too.

I would rather not read about future results in this thread. I have no problem discussing a show as it is airing though. Those who haven't seen the show yet should refrain from reading until they do.

Jordan did a great job on that wire. I thought for sure she would make Jeff do it. Hope they last for a while.

Loved how the father/daughter team were painting inside someone's house. That was so funny.

My mom, grandma and I watched it last night! I'm rooting for Jeff and Jordan! They say that Jordan reminds them of me! Lol, not sure how to take that one, but they are my favorite team (:

I also like the detectives!

I felt very sorry for that poor guy who couldn't get across that wire. He really did try and his wife was very nice about him not making it. I would have liked to have seen them continue.

It seems to me that the producers might have instigated those comments about Miss Teen North Carolina. If someone had told me that one of my fellow contestants would be a former Miss Teen North Carolina, I wouldn't have realized that she was the one who messed up the question. They would have to mention that fact too.

Last night's Amazing Race meal:

Celebrating Valentine's day and Santiago, Chile's coastal location, I went with seafood.

* Pan seared scallops topped with a Chilean salsa verde (cilantro, parsley, onion, garlic, jalapeno, olive oil, salt & pepper)
* Quinoa pilaf (quinoa is a high protein grain that originated in the Andes mountains)
* Ku de' ta Sauvignon Blanc from the Casablanca valley in Chile. I admit that I bought it mostly for it's name which I thought was amusing because of the 1973
coup d’état that put Pinochet into government (a short Wiki history for those who care: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/1973_Chilean_coup_d'état). Just to make things clear, I am not an admirer of Augusto Pinochet who was a terrible man.

Maybe, but a lot of people knew about her, it was all over tv, youtube, myspace, it was the joke of the day for a long time.

I know it was, but two years later, I wouldn't have remembered that it was that specific girl unless someone made a point of telling me.

That poor Miss Teen she is never going to live that little slip of the tongue down.

I think have been some spoiler on this thread already

I had no idea who she was and YouTube is not exactly World News. I agree that the producers had a hand in that one to heat things up.

It is weird to see JORFF out in the wild! I don't know if this is a spoiler but I think it is a fact that was brought up on another website that Jordan suffers from a learning disability. It makes me root for her even more--she is so genuine and out there with her shortcomings. The fact that she finds it difficult to tell time and confuses Chile with China is just endearing to me! I'm so glad she won Big Brother and hope she is on the winning team again! Way to go in winning first this week! Was it a trip to Vancouver? The Olympics Vancouver? WOW!:cheer2:

If that's true, then at least she has an excuse. This has to be the dumbest bunch of competitors I've ever seen in 16 seasons of AR. And the meanest. Ar always seems to have to include the obligatory gay guy/couple, but why do they always have to be the mean, flamboyant ones? At the least the brothers from last season acted like humans. This goes back to Team Guido from the first season. I tell you, if I was a fence-sitter on the homosexual issue, this show would make me homophobic for sure.

Subscribing...... I have my favorites picked out.

Glad to see this thread:thumbsup2

They give gay people a bad name. Shame on them, I know a lot of good, kind gay people. :sad2:

I'm joining in, I'm def. rooting for Jordan and Jeff.. I hope they make it far!! :yay:

Not saying anyone is (or isn't) supporting her; even saying, "Oh, yeah, she's the Miss ___ contestant who came up with the second most ridiculous response in recent memory" (or even repeating what she said in one's normal voice) would have been understandable. It's Jordan's mocking her that irritates us - his tone of voice.

Mm, nope. They paid attention to the clue; Cord (I think) said they exchanged their money to the closest available option to Chilean money. It was wrong, but it does make sense.

Yeah, they did. Nice contestants seem to get eliminated early/first a lot. It was impressive that he tried twice.

Are the cowboys gay?
Not as far as I know.
