my condolences. can't see why you all are rooting for her - I don't watch Big Brother, so this was my first impression of her. Blech. Double blech. Stupid and proud of it - waiting for her big strong man to swoop in and take care of her. I prefer to root for people, men and women, who are intelligent and self-sufficient.

Well seeing as I don't know anything about her as a real person, I don't dare judge her. I didn't watch her on big brother. I only watched her last night and while she seemed a bit ditzy, I didn't think she seemed like a total moron. Either way I don't know anything about her from one episode. One time she said Chile instead of China, but for all I know that could have been a simple slip of the tongue, that I could have done. Certainly not enough to judge her complete intelligence or worth as a human being. She seemed nice, and she's a local girl, so I feel compelled for now to root for her. And if by chance she really is a moron, why would that mean that she isn't as worthy of being rooted for as anyone else? So you can keep your condolences, they won't be needed here

Again - for those of us who watched Big Brother last summer, she was a wonderful contestant on that show (& she won!) She is very endearing, even more so if it's true that she has a learning disability.

There aren't many teams that I like so far this year. The brothers seem like jerks, the lesbians seem like jerks, the lawyer moms seem like total jerks "Ask these people for directions, they're black". Oh because a white person wouldn't have helped them? I am soooo over the race card.

Maybe they are aware of what happened the season that Uchenna & Joyce won? None of the people in the airport would help them. That is the first and only time I recall that happening.

The moms were not mean or nasty toward the other racers. I don't think they've earned the jerk title yet.

I had no idea who she was and YouTube is not exactly World News. I agree that the producers had a hand in that one to heat things up.



If that's true, then at least she has an excuse. This has to be the dumbest bunch of competitors I've ever seen in 16 seasons of AR. And the meanest. Ar always seems to have to include the obligatory gay guy/couple, but why do they always have to be the mean, flamboyant ones? At the least the brothers from last season acted like humans. This goes back to Team Guido from the first season. I tell you, if I was a fence-sitter on the homosexual issue, this show would make me homophobic for sure.

My youngest brother just said that last night as we IM'd during the show. Both brothers are gay and it makes him so mad that in the recent races, there is always 1 or 2 who are gay, that the attitude they give off and the way they do things or say things, doesn't help with the general publics opition of gays or lesbians.

Comment from my brother, in reference to the gay brother, the reason he had to make fun of Miss Teen is because in his mind he is a queen and he is just mad that he isn't the only queen on the show. He didn't mind the girls as much, but the brother was just ozzing with the attitude of look at me I'm special, cause I'm gay and you had better just deal with it.

We both really liked the two moms, Dad/daughter, and GM/GD teams. Not to sure about JJ, neither of us watch big brother, so no prior like/dislike for them. She just seems to ditzy. It was disappointing to see the husband and wife go so early.

I haven't read all 10 pages of this thread so bear with me if someone has already posted this. I was pleasantly surprised to see Cord McCoy on TAR with his brother. I am a fan of the PBR (Professional Bull Riders) and he is by far the the most beloved rider in the PBR. He is widely known for his pleasant personality and kindness and while he doesn't always ride great (few do), he has always got a smile on his face and a nice word to say. If the PBR had a Miss Congeniality award, Cord McCoy would win it unanimously.

I look forward to seeing how competitive he and his brother are against these other teams. It does seem like an unfair advantage because bull riders are world class athletes. They are highly trained, physically fit, and very agile.

I liked the bull riders and the grandmother/granddaughter team. I have a soft spot for the underdogs. I don't think either team will go far, but I hope they prove me wrong!

HOWDY, I am the OP, and I do not care one way or the other about SPOILERS. I actually like them. I am in CA, I have another 1.5 hours before TAR comes on BUT I am reading here now.

So, TAR DISer's, you all decide whether you want SPOILERS or not.

I don't mind discussion as it is airing, I never open a thread unless I am prepared to read who won and who left. I would prefer not to have any future "news" on teh thread but it would not be a show stopper for me if the majority of the group wanted it.

Boy, did anyone else feel the show should have been two hours? I felt the house painting task was cut way too short. They had the father/daughter team painting the wrong house (hilarious with the translation of the owners/workers) and then all of a sudden they are running to the pit stop.

I loved that part and wish that the segment was longer. This show was way too compressed for me!

Or his annoying "I love you bro" every five minutes. (I'm not sure which one was saying it) but it was annoying!

OMG! I was watching it alone and there was noone to gripe to! I wanted him to fall into the ravine if it meant he would stop bellowing that!

I don;t have any favorites yet, it generally takes a few episodes for me to decide who I am pulling for. I do not like the gay brother, and I am not fond of the lesbian couple. The three of them see to be meanspirited and I am put off by that.

We missed the airing of the episode last night, so we just watched it on-line. I think it's going to be a funny season...lots of funny one-liners! (I think it was the lesbian team who had the Martha Stewart reference about the paint color, pre-jail...LOL )

My DS14, being the world's biggest Phillies fan, is routing for the father/daughter team, since he was a Phillies coach...

I don't think you have to worry too much about them being "highly trained" as watching them last night....ummm...highly trained or not, I do not think they know this is a RACE! Don't get me wrong, they seemed like wonderful young men but they need to move a little quicker AND not make snap judgments like they did with the money exchange.

Those Rhode Island bros, I hope they are not going to be like Sam&Dan from Season 15!

Yep. the instant someone makes a racist comment, they are a jerk to me. I didn't see anything that led me to believe that Jordon is a complete idiot, so I can't judge her intelligence....yet.

When they were all running around looking for public transportation to the airport the lawyer moms found a car with other black people in it and proclaimed something along the lines of Oh good, other black people! They'll help us! - As if to insinuate that no other race of people would dare take a moment to stop and help them.

All 4 of us watching in our house had dropped jaws. We were all like WHOA! What the heck?

She didn't make a racist comment. Not sure why it matter what color the people in the car were, but commenting on thier race wasn't racist.
