I like U/J and I am happy for them but the real winners should have been Rob and Amber! I have worked for the airlines and what happened tonight was completely fixed. First of all, U/J did not have tickets for that flight nor were they even on standby list...you cannot buy tickets at the gate! In the real world, that would NEVER happen!!! Also, they were the only ones getting on the flight at that time, the flight was not being held for others otherwise the jetway would never have been pulled away. For goodness sakes the plane was already leaving...then you see the video of the gate agent calling the pilot to get them to come back!!! Again, you would never see this happen unless it was for a big celebrity, such as J-lo or something (which U/J aren't). Also, to return to the gate the flight has to get clearance on many levels. There was no way that pilot would return that flight to the gate unless he was ordered to by a higher authority at AA, which shows $$$ talks. Since U/J did not have that kind of $$, I have no doubts that CBS/producers got involved. You must understand that post 9/11 security clearance is very tight!!! No way would they be getting on that flight without a real ticket in the real world. I am done with this show...i just wish the ending was fair and did not appear fixed. Also, if i ever need to get on a flight at the last minute, i guess i will hire a camera crew so that my sercurity clearance means nothing....
I am not bitter....in fact i am very glad it was one of the last two teams that won but i am frustrated at CBS obvious interference at some level regarding that flight. I wish it would have been a clean win for someone. I think this will hurt the Amazing Race in the long run. People that were watching for R/A will probably not be watching anymore and the ratings will drop again....
