The Amazing Race 7...official Thread

I agree. Makes the whole thing look fixed.

I was wondering how they caught up to Rob and Amber. Right before commercial she said the flight was closed and I missed the first few seconds right after the commercial. I agree it must have been CBS that held the plane, which IMO is wrong. They probably wanted ROMBER on the show for the entertainment/ratings factor but didn't want them to actually win the money.

Did anyone notice the guy (part of the mom/son team) was chanting "Uchenna & Joyce, Uchenna & Joyce" when they were waiting for the first team to come it. :rotfl:

:jumping1: :jumping1: :jumping1: :jumping1: :jumping1:

Hooray!!!!!! I was so happy for U&J. I had tears in my eyes for them. "We're having a baby!!!!"""" I loved that part.

Uchenna is the nicest nicest man ever on that show, he's done so many nice things for the other teams.

And remember U&J never won a great prize for being in first place -- two times!!! What a great and awesome ending.

This was the best ending for the best AR show!!!!!!

Can't wait to see them tomorrow morning on the Early Show!

Finally J/U win something (and it's the biggie). That was the first thing they won. That Uchenna is a great guy. I think they will have a great future. Rob & Amber have a lot to look forward too. I'm sure CBS is paying for the wedding.

Isn't it nice to see team that played an honest, respectable game win?

How many times did U help other teams a task, shared money and clothes? It's nice to see the good guys win. :goodvibes

I would have been happy if either Romber or U&J won...and thankfully U&J won :goodvibes I'm so glad Ron and Kelly came in third (it really goes to show that communication between teamates and trust in each other really make a difference IMHO). I was suprised that the plane was able to let U&J as well, but I don't think CBS would have the power over AA to have that done.

If CBS held the plane why on earth would they have editted it to show the flight attendant saying the plane was closed? Besides I don't think CBS has power over airlines or the FAA - something else had to have happened - like the runway closed temporarily so they allowed more passengers on - or they had some emergency and pulled back to the gate and allowed more passengers on. What ever it is I'm glad - I wanted U & J to win :)

all I can say is if u/j were on the plane and it was closed but reopened for r/a there would be a lot of talk about the producers stepping in. still not sure they didn't.

I was very happy for u/j, but was hopping r/a would win. I was happy as long as r/k didn't...ugh.

::yes::

Oh wait---there was a lot of talk when that happened in an earlier episode. :rolleyes1

Who cares why the plane was held? I'm just glad that it was. :cool1:

Rob did plenty of things during the course of the race that seemed unfair.

I think there should be a rule against having a local guide your team around a city.

It has nothing to do with power. Of course CBS can't tell them to stop the plane. But, they can sure step in and say, "Hey we're giving your airline a lot of airtime on our show. Help us out here a little." That said, I think they may have done something for R/A too. It didn't really seem like they should have been on that plane either. Or maybe it was just lucky. Who knows. :confused3

:dancer: :dancer: :dancer: :dancer:

WOOHOOO!!!!!!!!!!!

I am so thrilled Uchenna & Joyce did it!!! They deserved the money!!!!!!!

No team can beat you, eh Rob :rotfl2: :rotfl2:

I like U/J and I am happy for them but the real winners should have been Rob and Amber! I have worked for the airlines and what happened tonight was completely fixed. First of all, U/J did not have tickets for that flight nor were they even on standby list...you cannot buy tickets at the gate! In the real world, that would NEVER happen!!! Also, they were the only ones getting on the flight at that time, the flight was not being held for others otherwise the jetway would never have been pulled away. For goodness sakes the plane was already leaving...then you see the video of the gate agent calling the pilot to get them to come back!!! Again, you would never see this happen unless it was for a big celebrity, such as J-lo or something (which U/J aren't). Also, to return to the gate the flight has to get clearance on many levels. There was no way that pilot would return that flight to the gate unless he was ordered to by a higher authority at AA, which shows $$$ talks. Since U/J did not have that kind of $$, I have no doubts that CBS/producers got involved. You must understand that post 9/11 security clearance is very tight!!! No way would they be getting on that flight without a real ticket in the real world. I am done with this show...i just wish the ending was fair and did not appear fixed. Also, if i ever need to get on a flight at the last minute, i guess i will hire a camera crew so that my sercurity clearance means nothing....

I am not bitter....in fact i am very glad it was one of the last two teams that won but i am frustrated at CBS obvious interference at some level regarding that flight. I wish it would have been a clean win for someone. I think this will hurt the Amazing Race in the long run. People that were watching for R/A will probably not be watching anymore and the ratings will drop again.... :sad2:

Whoo Hoo! I am pretty happy considering my favorite team was out of the race weeks ago. At least TTWSNBN didn't win. I won't be watching next Tuesday night either.

Wow!

Is Puerto Rico under FAA jurisdiction?

I missed all that--got up and came back to U/J getting on the flight.

I would imagine since PR is part of the United States.

Ditto! I really am so glad Uchenna and Joyce won! They really needed it so much and now they can try to have their baby :cheer2: :cheer2:

Two things I noticed:
1. Someone earlier mentioned that Getchen and Meredith live in Florida, but they were just on our local news as living in Easton, Maryland. They were still so sweet- as always :)

2. Did anyone else notice at the end of the show when they were all hanging around and talking that Gretchen told Kelly 'I'll get your shirts back to you.' How cute to be worried about making sure she got her shirts back that she lent to her.
