THE AMAZING RACE 15, ~Season Premier~ 09/27/09 pg 64!

I didn't mind that they used the U-turn, but it bothered me that they used it to save the cheerleaders.

The way it worked out, though, is that they eliminated a very strong team so it works to their advantage, but he did it to save the girl that he has a crush on.

I am sad to see Amander & Kris go. I really like dthem and loved the fact that the young couple wasn't a pair of jerks like they have been on so many past races.

M&L were playing the game, so I don't hold it against them at all.

The little stuntmen STINK and I hope they are booted next week. They wouldn't be able to find their heads if they weren't attached to their necks.

Anybody else think the redhead's Lufthansa receptionist impression was funny? I did, since she offered them a fake flight that they couldn't book anyway.

Was anyone else surprised at the trouble they had with Chekhov? That really wasn't hard to figure out.....OV is a very common ending in Russian and the other letters really only make sense in maybe two combinations.

I knew it as soon as the clue was read. Chekhov plays are regularly performed in cities all around the world. I am ashamed at some of the racers' stupidity or ignorance. [And - I mean this in the nicest way possible - I don't 100% buy Margie's excuse for Luke b/c he is deaf not blind]

I was laughing, but I thought she should've gone all the way with it. I mean, book the danged flight and give them a confirmation number already. lol It would've been cruel but way more entertaining!

I was surprised that they used the U-turn but it is a game in the end. They were trying to eliminate who they thought were the strongest team.

I don't think that Luke is spoiled. All the hand gestures, facial expressions, huffing, etc., are not necessarily those of a spoiled child. I have a cousin who is deaf and all of those are normal for him and he is not spoiled. It's just that he has a different way of communicating than hearing people.

I don't mind them using it. I think they way they used it was stupid I think the brother and sister team are the strongest team and the biggest threat.

I thought it was going to be a huge twist it was pretty lame. I thought maybe one person of the team would have to do a task blindfold while the other one told them how to do it.

I think part of it was the crush but they have also been working together to some degree and they did say that Amber/Kris were very strong and a threat.

I was wondering if they had out and out lied to them about booking a flight, if there would have been some type of penalty involved. I know in the past there has been taxi stealing and canceling but this seemed different somehow.

I thought that anyone who was college educated had heard of Anton Chekhov and I said to my DH that I thought that Luke was going to sail through that part of the challenge. Boy was I wrong!

I so agree with this. :thumbsup2 This season the teams are working really well with each other, not so much yelling and bickering with each other.

I was cracking up when the brothers didn't have enough $ for the cab and they tried to give the man the watch and he already had a Rolex !!

I actually thought what Margie & Luke did was smart - elminated one of the strongest teams :thumbsup2 This is not a popularity contest or Survivor where you need the votes of others - it's a race :) I was suprised that it was an elmination leg

I don't think Luke is spoiled.... I think his communication style is very different due to his disability. Margie stated that English was difficult so I wonder if learning to read was harder for him due to being deaf or another type of disability :confused3

I expect Mark and Michael to go soon. Both seem to have a horrible sense of direction ;)

Can't wait for next week

Great episode! What a shocker that it wasn't a non-elimination leg. They were a cute couple, but they were strong - Margie & Luke did the right thing.

I was sad however, that Phil was not in a sweater this leg.

And he was right.
I think I would have done the Uturn that way too. It isn't a popularity contest it's a race. They did what they had to to eliminate a strong team.

I agree. They tried to eliminate a team that would have been a threat later on down the line.

I think Amanda and Kris made a mistake on giving up on the wood pile. From someone who has piled lots of wood in my earlier days, they had the easiest pile to fix. They would have been done in no time.

I was talking to the TV at that point. "Don't go!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!"

I would have done the same thing and hoped that it worked to my advantage. In the end you have to be able to beat the last two teams and that couple would have been tough to beat IMO.

I think Margie said that English is his second language. His first would be Sign.

Oh, come on! Save the cheerleader(s), save the world!

:upsidedow

Exactly what I was thinking! :teeth:

Now, while I know who Anton Chekhov is...am I the only one who would have immediately thought of Star Trek and Pavel Chekhov? Okay, so I'm a nerd...

You're not alone in your nerdiness! lol I thought the same thing.

I don't think there is the second h in the Star Trek Chekov's name, but I am not certain. I read all about him from obviously sci-fi fans on another message board discussing Amazing Race on Monday.

You're not. I thought the same thing. But, what did he write? :rotfl2:

Ah, you're correct. I still would have thought of him first, though :teeth:

Um...a dissertation regarding "nuclear wessels?" :confused3 :teeth:

:lmao: BUWAHAHAHAHAA!! :lmao:

ok, does it show my nerdiness that I *get* that??!? ;)

My DH said, "Ok, I can get someone not knowing who Anton Chehkov is, but who wouldn't look at those letters and immediately see "Chehkov" because of Star Trek??" Come to think of it though, I think you are right... no second h in Pavel's name.

I am loving this season. I like most all of the racers (didn't like the hicks, but they were short-lived), and I love the challenges (I still giggle when I think about the cheese wheels)!

According to IMDB, there is no second H. Not that it would have made that much of a difference.
