THE AMAZING RACE 15, ~Season Premier~ 09/27/09 pg 64!

Only seasons 1 and 7 are out on DVD - season 1 was interesting to see how the show has evolved over the seasons, I started watching with season 6. Season 7 has Rob and Amber in it, with the great game playing. They were also in TAR all-star season but were eliminated early.

I have my menu for tonight. I am being lazy and doing Russian take-out. I was researching Siberian food and came up with a thing called a "Pel'meni" from here: http://www.answers.com/topic/siberia-continent that looked good. It's a meat or potato dumpling. I googled the word "Pel'meni" and to my surprise I found a restaurant right here in Madison that serves nothing but dumplings. So, I'm going to run down to the restaurant about 30 minutes before the race starts and I'm going to buy some yummy dumplings :). Now all I to do is decide which topping I will have: spicy style-curry powder, sweet chili sauce, and a fresh cilantro garnish or traditional style with melted butter. The potato ones will be with melted butter as they are for my fussy vegetarian daughter.
Sounds good.
I made beef stroganoff for dinner tonight!

Yeah, I was bummed. I liked them. I was especially bummed since the "DIS favorites" of Margie & Luke sent them back to do the U-Turn. What do you Margie and Luke fans think of their decision? At least they seem to "own up" to it and the other teams know it was them. So ... what's the point of the "Blind U-Turn" if people figure it out anyway?

I guess I am glad of the outcome ONLY because I think that my own favorite team of Mark & Michael may have been eliminated instead.

I'm kinda ticked that Mom & Son U-Turned the team they did! They may well have come in last anyway, but - give them a chance!

I'm irritated that they did it to help their "friends", not their own personal situation.

I didn't see the need for the U-turn at that point. Margie and Luke knew they were far enough ahead to not be going home. To use it just because might bit them in the butt later on when they really NEED it because they are at risk.

I like Margie, and Luke, however I have to wonder- can Margie make a decision, or have an independent thought? The only thing I remember her deciding was the cake throwing thing, which he threw a hissie fit about. Maybe it's in the way it is edited, but when they are being interviewed it is always her translating what he is saying, not having her own opinions. I still waiting on him to lose it. He just seems a bit like a spoiled kid who always gets his way to me.

I will miss the team eliminated. They were smart, and fair. I do think they would have went home regardless.

And again, I must add--Thank goodness we won't have to see the hillbillies next week in those exercise thingies with the tushies out:scared1: :scared1: :scared: I see a ROTF laughing episode:rotfl2:

I was surprised the couple went home. They ususally make the u-turn and time out (or whatever they call it rounds non-elimination. Maybe that was why it was a blind u-turn....they didn't need the drama.

That was a great episode! I tell you one thing...I would LOVE to do the bobsled track...that looked like a blast.

I'm surprised Kris and Amanda were eliminated but I guess that's what happens when you get hit with a U-Turn. I think the blind U-Turn this year is going to cause some problems with teams accusing each other. I would rather know who did it instead of guessing...but that's me.
:rolleyes1

As soon as the show started and Kris and Amanda were talking about how strong they are ect. Dh said "Kiss of death they'll be eliminated tonite"

And he was right.
I think I would have done the Uturn that way too. It isn't a popularity contest it's a race. They did what they had to to eliminate a strong team.

I'm really enjoying the tasks this year. I really like how they fit with the area where they are staying. People seem to be really working together to accomplish the end. Proves that you can have a competition, but it doesn't have to be nasty. I, too, was surprised that this wasn't a non-elimination leg. Off to watch 'Elimination Station'.

I was SO mad that Margie and Luke U-turned Amanda and Chris. I really liked Amanda & Chris and was not happy to see them go. I used to like Margie & Luke, but I hope they do horrible now. That was just rude...there was no need to use the u-turn. They're all jealous...even those two girls who were complaining about Amanda. And other than wanting those 2 out now, I hope Mel and Mike are gone. The dad (forget which one it is) is just rude!

I agree. It's not personal, it's a game.

I don't understand why people get upset when people use the u-turn. It is part of the game and they did use it for two reasons. To give the two woman a better chance (remember they have been working together) and because they thought the other couple was a threat every week.

I think Amanda and Kris made a mistake on giving up on the wood pile. From someone who has piled lots of wood in my earlier days, they had the easiest pile to fix. They would have been done in no time.

Amanda and Kris biggest mistake last night was giving up on the pile of wood. I'm not blaming Marjene and Luke they were playing the game. They did what they had to do!

I hated to see Amanda and Kris go, but it is a game. I wonder if last night when they learned who u-turned them, or if they found out earlier?

That one Russian woman was hilarious. What a way to represent your homeland?:rotfl2:

When Mark and Michael ended up speaking with the other team, I was :lmao: .

I agree. I knew Chris and Amanda were going as soon as I saw their little clip at the beginning.

I don't think Margie and Luke needed to use the U-turn, but I also don't blame them. It is part of the game and a tool they have to use.

I also agree that Chris and Amanda should have stayed and fixed their wood pile. It didn't seem bad at all. It almost always is a mistake to switch tasks in the middle.

Was anyone else surprised at the trouble they had with Chekhov? That really wasn't hard to figure out.....OV is a very common ending in Russian and the other letters really only make sense in maybe two combinations.

Oh, I am not upset. I enjoy the game-play route markers. It turned out that they probably didn't need it as Amanda and Kris were so far behind anyway.

I agree. I was yelling at the TV: "Don't go! Fix the pile!". If they had fixed their pile do you think would they have made it to the U-Turn before Margie and Luke?

Sorry, I didn't mean you. I thought about that after I posted it; it was just a general comment.

I don't know if they would have been able to avoid the u-turn but I think they still could have beaten one of the other two teams in the shutter challenge. In fact if the two brothers hadn't receive helped I think they would still be looking for the house. :rotfl:
