THE AMAZING RACE 15, ~Season Premier~ 09/27/09 pg 64!

I agree with gometros. Normally it is a gamble worth taking. But they knew at least 3 other teams would be on the 9:30 flight with them.

OK, but I think these teams need to start playing like Rob and Amber did. They shouldn't focus on coming in FIRST. They should focus on not coming in LAST. As long as they know there is at least one team behind them, they should be OK with whatever their situation is.

They best moment EVER, in the history of The Amazing race, was when Rob could not finish a gross eating task. He asked Amber to look up the rules of not finishing. he found out they had to endure a time penalty. He just needed to convince ONE team to not finish after he stopped. He ended up getting three teams to stop. :lmao: It was great! Phil had to really struggle to get the words, "Rob and Amber, you are team number 5" in a serious tone. He then busted out laughing. He said "Do you realize there are teams not moving because of you?" :lmao: :lmao:

Omigod, that was one of the greatest AR moves ever! I really enjoyed Rob and Amber on the race, they are one of my all time favorite teams!

I know there are people who hated Rob but he knew how to play the game! :teacher:
My family still talks about the meat eating episode where Rob talked other teams into not eating....:happytv:

Those gross food challenges are one of the major reasons I don't try out for this show (aside from the fact I KNOW I am not physically fit enough.) I think more people should go the Rob and Amber route.

That was the best! I saw AR for the first time last season so my DD rented the 1st season and the season Rab and Amber played. It was great! The game was not just about being first, it was about outlasting all of the others. The only time coming in first matters is the last challenge.

I'll miss Brad and Victoria - I would not have btohered with a 2-leg flight to gain a 25 minute lead on the other teams. A few hours? - Sure, I would have went for it [and would have been screwed in this case anyway], but not for 25 mintues.

Victor is a total tool and I feel sorry for Tammy.

Kris and Amanda are a cool "hot young couple" team so far. No screetching, no nagging, no nastiness. About damn time!

How gruesome did Brad look covered with "blood" at the Pit Stop?

I love Kris and Amanda! They remind me of Kris and Jon from season 6, who are one of my all time favorite teams.

I actually like all of the teams. I'm not sure that's ever happened before.

I believe I read a few seasons ago that the team members had a maximum distance that they were allowed to be apart during the race. If they really walked as far as the editing made it seem, she may not have been go back down. She would have been too far from him, since he was being a huge PITA and not listening.

Now THAT would make for an amazing AR. Each contestant wears ankle bracelets and if they get separated by x distance from their partner, they get an electrical shock :lmao:

(Okay, I'm feeling evil today. Blame it for sitting on a train for an hour, while it waited its turn to enter the tunnel into NY Penn station).

I just read an interview with Brad and Victoria, and they said that after landing about 18 hours behind the other teams, they arrived at the Pit Stop about 4 or 5 hours behind Victor and Tammy, so they really rocked the tasks. Apparently, Victoria did the gymnastics without making one mistake, and they had a super-awesome taxi driver who was racing thru rush hour traffic like James Bond to get them to the gymnasium.

WOW! Victor and Tammy REALLY screwed up, huh? :)

It will be intersting to see how far behind leaders Tammy and Victor are when the next leg starts. Afterall, that first plane was over 4 hours ahead of the other teams and no one seemed to really struggle with the tasks in the first group.

I am guessing that there will be some kind of equalizer in the next leg to get them bunched up again.

Id like to see the Rob and Amber season again. I missed most of that season.

I just caught up on all my taped shows. I love this season so far!! I agree that I like all the teams this time! :thumbsup2

Never thought of planning a meal to go with the show. I love this idea! So what's everyone going to make this week? I"m guessing vodka will be the drink.

I have my menu for tonight. I am being lazy and doing Russian take-out. I was researching Siberian food and came up with a thing called a "Pel'meni" from here: http://www.answers.com/topic/siberia-continent that looked good. It's a meat or potato dumpling. I googled the word "Pel'meni" and to my surprise I found a restaurant right here in Madison that serves nothing but dumplings. So, I'm going to run down to the restaurant about 30 minutes before the race starts and I'm going to buy some yummy dumplings :). Now all I to do is decide which topping I will have: spicy style-curry powder, sweet chili sauce, and a fresh cilantro garnish or traditional style with melted butter. The potato ones will be with melted butter as they are for my fussy vegetarian daughter.

I will pipe up and say I cannot stand Rob and Amber. I was so happy when they were eliminated early on the All Stars season.

was this the guy with a Southern accent that spoke down to his wife all the time and called her the b word? Then had the nerve to say they worked well as a team when they were eliminated?:rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:

no - they were Boston Rob (with the thick accent to match) and Amber from Survivor and Survivor All Stars. They were on quite the reality series kick for a while. Love him or hate him, he played the game brilliantly.
