Hi All! Long time no see.
Good Luck to Liam and Andrew and good thoughts for Ann's DN.
Aimee- I hope things are going well on the job front for your husband.
Nancy - I didn't see the results of your medical tests, but I hope all is well. And I hope the poison ivy is better too.
Becky - Wonderful pics as usual, although I have to admit that I am really impressed with your vacation food pics. I'm planning on cooking in our villa on this trip, any advice on packing ingredients you'd like to share?
Lindsay - One cat, two cats......this is how it starts my friend. Believe me. We are now down to two, but boy was it hard finding homes for all of them. At one point, we had four adults and EIGHT kittens. All strays.
Glynis - I hope you have a wonderful time in London. I can't wait to hear all about it when you return.
Wendie - I'm so very sorry about Kris's grandmother. I'm glad your Dad is visiting now, so you have something else you have to focus on. You've certainly had what seems like more than your share of heartache this year.
Kathy - Keep us posted on how things go with the community college coach. And I think it is wonderful that Kyle is coaching himself this summer. I think he must be really good at it.
BigMerle - At least your mom is buying the junk food for someone else now. When I would go on a diet, my mom would always make sure to buy my favorite candy bars and treats and would make the most fattening dinners she could think of. Keep strong girl.
Janice - I think Laura is right, the recorder is a menace. Think of the horrors if your dog with anger issues learned to play it.
I've missed some of you, I know. Please forgive me.
I've missed all of you so much, but I have been so busy the past week and a half. Kenny's mom fell and tore a tendon in her foot and has been in a wheelchair ever since. His step dad is completely useless, so I have been trying to run two households, hold down a full time job, and try to keep P from failing the 6th grade. If we can get him through exams this week, I think we will have P under control and he then goes to his mother's for a whole week for part of her summer visitation.
Kenny's Mom, however, is a whole different matter. The doctor says she has to stay off that foot for another month. She is a really sweet lady and did not ask any of us for help, but Kenny found out she was eating canned soup for the first two days. Needless to say, we weren't going to let that continue, so I've been cooking meals that she can reheat in the microwave and I have been grocery shopping for the other odds and ends she needed. Kenny's oldest sister lives too far away to bring meals, but she is cleaning her mom's house and doing her laundry, so that is a big help. But Kenny's other sister is "too busy" to help with anything, so the meals fall to me. I wouldn't mind, but I didn't realize how time consuming it is to make separate meals (dietary restrictions) and what a dent it would make in my budget.
Anyway, I have cooked all weekend, so I think I have bought myself some breathing room. Hailey is going to the pool this afternoon with one of the therapists, so I'm planning on maybe taking a nap.
Tonight's dinner is going to be teriyaki chicken pasta. Last night was the korean chicken thighs with some fresh green beans and new potatoes. The night before was the unstuffed cabbage casserole. Thursday I made pork chops and consomme' rice. Wednesday we had spicy chicken spaghetti.
Hope to talk to all of you again soon.
