I had requested the 50 buildings and a specific room about 3 weeks before our visit. when we got there we got a totally different building as well as of course a different room. when I questioned the CM at check in she said we hadn't requested it "early enough" and it was gone by the time we asked for it...I find that very hard to believe, but am wondering if she was just too lazy to see if it was available or what. any ideas would be appreciated in case I ever want to make another request. I realize they are not guarenteed but I really have a hard time believing every room in the 50's building was gone over 3 weeks before we checked in on the 9th. I had heard they don't even assign rooms that early( If i am remembering right a cm had told me this when I made the ressie)

Tyler, I was wondering if you could answer a question for us please?

Is there a place at Pop Century where DISers can leave messages for one another? We are planning on meeting up with some folks from the board and we'd like to know if there is a place where we could leave mesages for each other?

Thanks :) princess:

Hmmm... If you know the person's full name or room number, you can leave a message at Guest Services. But aside from that, I don't really know of a public message board type area.

That was a great question about the messages for fellow travelers. So we need to know their full name and then leave the written message at the front desk? Is there a room voice mail system?

On the DIS Home Page they have a great write up and photos of the PC. What is the room with the table and chairs?? The room looks huge?? I want that room!!

Tyler, thanks so much for your quick (and infomative ;) ) reply :sunny:

Looks like we'll all just have to be on the lookout for the
lime green wearin' DISers!!
:wave2: princess:

Great thread! I came here with 2 questions and both were answered before I got half way thru the first page. We'll be at PC for 2 days in mid-February and we're all very excited.
Thanks for all your time & effort :)

I hope some of you or our local expert Tyler can give me some advice. I'll be arriving probably close to 1 AM at the POP on Feb. 5th. Should I call down directly to the resort and let them know that my plane doesn't arrive until very late (or wee hours of the morn)? I don't want them to give us a very far away place and not get the building we've requested (70s). Any advice???
Thanks and my DD and I are finally doin' the single digit happy dance!

I wondered the same thing about those pictures.April

HI
I am new here and we are going to stay at Pop in December 27th!! I have found this very helpful as I have scanned the internet for information about this resort!

I was wondering about the pictures of the rooms too!

I would like to stay in one of these - I am assuming they are the ones for disabled guests.

My 2 young sons will be sharing a double bed - what will be the chances of getting 2 bed rails and will I have to request them beforehand.

I would really like a room to see fireworks out of so we can put the boys to bed and watch the fireworks! any recommendations?

thanks
jo

The top three room photos at wdwinfo are definately not Pop Century - they have the wrong bedspreads for one thing and the wrong room decor - but overall they are just wrong.

It certainly can't hurt to give us a call, but it's also not neccessary. But if it will make you more comfortable, then by all means. 407-938-4000 is the number. :)

OK, I've read that maintenance will swap out the "controlled" thermostat for one that will go below 68, but do the swapped ones stay on constantly??

I've read that they have motion sensors that cuts off the air when there is little motion in the room??

We will probably be stay *** at POP in late May, and my hubby is one of those ones that sleeps in the middle of winter on top of the covers with the ceil *** fan on high and the heat off. The rest of us have just learned to sleep in sweats.

So if he were to get hot in the middle of the night cause the air cut off, he would insist it be fixed immediately, or we would be mov *** to another hotel, right then, right there, won't care how much it is per night.

This is the warmest month we have ever visited Disney, mainly because of hubby's aversion to the heat. If it's above 65 degrees outside, he is sweat *** bullets. We are only go *** at this time of year to celebrate son's graduation from high school. (Shhhh it's a secret)

I can imagine that he will want the room cold when we get back from the parks too.

So what's the scoop on this thermostat th ***?? Can we have it set to keep hubby happy, or should we book All-Stars??

Thanks,

Carol

I think it is time for Tyler to get a raise!!!

All those in favor say I!!!!!!::yes:: ::yes::

The only reason we booked at Pop Century is because of all the info Tyler has posted.
