Direct from official sources, there are no current plans for the Legendary Years at this time.

At this time, Disney's just waiting out the economy and tourism levels, seeing where they go. Not that Legendary wouldn't be a success, but they just don't want it to take away too much from other Disney resorts. It will happen... it's just a matter of time and patience. :)

Tyler - I know you don't have all the answers :) but why do they have up the facades and yet now stop work on it? It's kind of an eye sore as is right now...maybe overplanning? Still, it looks odd sitting there ..and it's not exactly a nice view from some of the Classic rooms.

Thanks much!

<snip> I am just a Disney fan that collects info. I like taking groups of newbies to Disney. It saves me money and I get to see the parks fresh every time through their eyes.. This June will be my biggest group.

Now that sounds like the best job on earth!! Where do you find all your new best friends??

:sunny:
Christine
P.S. I was so surprised to read you've not stayed at the POP - your info is the best around...but I am curious now..where have you stayed and what is your fav resort - if you have one?

Thanks!!:wave2:

Just a quick question for upcoming first trip to POP...

Are there hairdryers in the rooms?

Thanks!

Oh,

Hi  to ChairborneRangr from another Coloradan! Where are you?

There was a hairdryer attached to the wall, above the sink, next to the bathroom. It worked well for me - I have very baby fine hair - maybe someone with lots of thick hair would not find it as good. Still, I am pretty picky and did not bother to take a haridryer last week.

Interestingly, the GF had the exact same hairdryer!!

Hi back :)

18 miles east of monument. In the middle of nowhere

Any other Disney Value lovin' Coloradans out there?

BaciBecky,

I am so glad that you posted that. I had totally forgotten that they were there and went back to read Tyler's original post that said that they were available on request. I read your post to DH who said, "don't you remember how surprised you were in January, and how you wished you hadn't brought yours?" We had such a wonderful time, I guess I just forgot. I took mine in January since the resort was new and I was afraid they might not have enough to go around.

One less thing to remember and to carry with me!

Thanks for the quick reply, BaciBecky. Don't need to pack it now!

Stephen, there are a handful of Colorado folks here on the DIS. One in LoneTree, one in Parker, one in the Springs and a couple of others that I know of. But generally, I think WDW Nuts are few and far between out here.

 Hi again Kala...

Kala, :wave2:

6 days and you're there again??? Be still my heart!!

Are you staying at the POP again? Have you requested a location?

Is this sick to vicariously live thru other people's Disney vacations unitil I get to go again???

:sunny:
Christine

:wave2: hightown!

Just noticed you're leaving in 5 days!! I should not complain -this time last week at I was at World Showcase just finishing a late lunch/early supper at Alfredo's ...ahh...it was yummy :)

Hi "Hi" and "Baci",

Yes, we are going back to Pop, and are very excited! We will be there for 8 days, but are going to try out AKL for the last part of the trip. Never stayed there and got a pretty good AP rate. Have decided we need to branch out and try new resorts. It's so easy to just stick with what we know and love. We have requested the 70's building, King Room, nonsmoking. In January we had room 0122, first floor, near the center, king room, disabled (not a request, just happened that way). Free refrigerator was nice! Getting so excited we just can't stand it.

I'm excited for and with you!!

It's true, sometimes we need to push ourselves to try a new resort. It was GF for me last week...fabulous!

It's easy to get hooked on any resort and the POP when you can save so much money - even from the moderates.

I like so many of them it's fun and challenging to decide which one each visit. If the budget is tight that actually helps!!

I know you'll have a great time! Enjoy the AKL - it was fun to sit on the balcony and watch the animals - it was almost a spiritual experience! I did not think I'd like the Savannah view!! We were upgrade to Savannah from standard for 3 nights. Pixie dust to you!!

OOOH, OOOH

My counters at 4 days!

I'm really hoping I like POP because it will be a cheaper alternative or a way to defray the more pricey resorts, ie 3 days at pop + 5 at a delux.

Kala, we'll be at POP 10/13-18. Maybe we'll see you there!

Christine, don't you hate doing that "this time last week I was..." I do. So sad. The trip is over before you know it. That's why we have to always have one trip in the works :teeth:

Just curious if they have changed the mug design yet? We were there earlier this year and purchased only 1 mug and DH took it golfing this summer and lost it:(. I really liked the design and was hoping to purchase another one on this trip. Can someone please answer?

Thanks!!!:)

Hi,Hightown :wave2:

So I know that you must be getting really excited. Have you requested anything specific for your stay? Will you have computer access while you're there? (laptop?). If you do maybe you can post where you're staying and how your trip is going. We're taking our new laptop this time and are planning to spend a few minutes a day checking mail and maybe boards. We'll have to see how that works out, though because we also say we're going to journal every evening and are always too tired by the time we get back. We usually do EE every morning, come back to rest a little each afternoon, then go out and close down the parks at night. We come home exhausted! Do you have anything special planned? PS's? MNSSHP?. We are doing only 2 PS's this time so far (we usually do alot more). We're doing the Segway tour, LTT, and MNSSHP on the 17th, Teppanyaki and and Cirque on the 20th. I really want to make another PS for Boma while we're at AKL, though.

I know you'll have lots of fun, save us a good room!

Oh, and BaciBecky, did you go to MNSSHP? And if you did, how was it? We used to stay almost exclusively at Poly, so we have spent some time there (just one Monorail stop away!) I just figured out how much extra money I have for souveniers and extra trips if I spend time at a less expensive resort, and I like Pop enough to do that, it's really a nice resort, even if Tyler isn't there anymore!
:p

We will be at POP end of Oct through first of Nov.

1. does POP still NOT have to share buses with other resorts?
2. how is POP's arcade to Contempory (only stayed at CR)
3. is there still early entry when we will be there?
4. hate to ask this question but can't help myself, would love to stay in the 60's, do they ever give free upgrade at this time of year since oct is not to busy and maybe have some empty rooms when I made my ressie's the CM was the one who mentioned it not me, so just wondering.

thanks for the help
Brooke

P.S. maybe we will see Tyler:D :D

Someone on the restaurant board mentioned she received a free chicken crunch appetizer coupon when she stayed at WL for Planet Hollywood. Does anybody know if they have the coupon at the Pop.

Hi :wave2: Kala!

Oh, I did not do MNSSHP..sorry! But I could see the MK from the room and the fireworks were spectactular that night!! :) I love the Poly too..did not have time to visit this trip..even if I am not staying there I like to stop by and wander around...feels like "home".
I agree about the savings gained by staying at the POP - there are times when I need the R&R of a balcony, but not every time and so the extra $ saved is great for other things - or toward another trip later!

Brooke1 :wave2: , Your questions:

Never hurts to ask - who knows..but it is only $10 more a night if you want to be sure you get preferred location - or request 50's building close to the main building - it is jsut as close as the 60's! Check out the POP on the following link and you'll know exactly what to request! have fun!!!

:wave2: Hightown - Ohhh, yes, it is awful to be saying "this time last week" and what's worse, as of today all I can say is that this time last week I arrived back home!! You'll be leaving soon and you must tell us all about it when you return...keeps me going until next time!!! I sure hope you enjoy the POP - just try to psych yourself up for a differnt experience than the deluxes. have you requested a location?

I wish I had another trip in the planning!! I need more friends who love going as much as me!! ;) Cannot go with my daughter because one of us needs to doggie sit for the other:)

Maybe I'll just pick some dates and plan another trip - then find some munchkins to take with or drag a friend along:sunny:

Christine

we are going on a disney cruise and plan on getting to orlando at 1100 in the am would it be worth staying at pc for one night to get the mood started for our vacation?

sure, why not?

and don't the cruise people pick up your luggage at a disney resort?

that is a good question and if they do would they even if you weren't using disney trans. from there to the port?
