Well yesterday was my birthday and what a GREAT day to mark our FIRST day of double-digit dancing!

Happy Birthday! That is a great way to celebrate!

Hi Everyone! Name is Megan. Just found the boards and so excited about getting some inside tips for our upcoming trip. My family of 5, plus my mom will be heading to Disney from June 18th through the 25th. We are staying at the Marriott Cypress Harbour. Looks like we will be doing Disney for 5 days and Universal for one. Starting to make dining reservations now and just got tickets for Cirque show! I am so excited, but since this is our first time, I feel like I am venturing into the world of the unknown and I have so many questions. Look forward to enjoying the board and continuing to plan this dream vacation:woohoo:

Welcome to our group! :yay: I added you to our list on page 1. Anything you want to ask, please do...There are so fantastic people on this board who would love to help you plan!

Does everyone go this nuts on planing? Here is the spreadsheet I put together for each trip.

Absolutely! I thought everyone was like us! LOL. I have to have my color coded spread sheet with me at all times. My husband laughs at me because I keep it sealed in plastic. ha ha. :rotfl: He also always asks, "Are you sure we can do that? Is it on the spreadsheet?" Seriously though...not on the sheet, usually doesn't happen unless we have extra time! :rotfl:

We will be going to Disney world June 2-9th and we are staying at All Star Music. No dining reservations, only quick service for us. We can't wait! :)

Welcome to the group! I added your information to our list on page 1.

Please add us to the list too! June 1 thru June 8 at the Pop Century resort. We are taking my parents for the first time! Can not wait!

Absolutely! :thumbsup2 Welcome to the group!

Oh boy... where to start? Well, we will be at WDW for 3 weeks -- June 14-21 at BCV and June 21-July 5 at VWL. We're actually flying out the night before so we can be there during the day on the 14th. We weren't going to do it, but the flight was about $150 cheaper/person to go at night. We paid about $350/person for our flights. I just checked the same flights a couple days ago and they are now going for about $770 a person.

We are doing the DxDP. We like knowing that it's paid for before we eat.
Looking forward to a great trip. Can't wait until June.

Welcome to the group! I added your information to our lists on page 1 and you sure kept me busy today. :rotfl2: A three week trip? Don't I wish?! That is awesome and I bet you are really excited. :cheer2:

First time stay at CSR June 25 - July 4!!!

Welcome to the group! I added your information to page 1 of the thread. :cheer2:

Hi all!

I was wondering why the other June 2011 thread was so quiet.. then I find this.. trying to catch up with all 43 pages! :surfweb:

101 days til our wedding which means 103 until Disneymoon!! :yay:

Emma princess: x

Emma,
I bet you are getting really excited about your wedding. I have seen your plans and everything looks wonderful! I bet your wedding will be beautiful! Yeah, I don't remember exactly when but we switched over to this board so that I could control all the information. Things kept getting buried on the other one and the person that started it, didn't post again so we took off and now 43 pages later, we are in full swing. :cool1:

Just wanted to post that I booked the Wishes Desert party:cloud9: for June 24th. Anyone else going to the Desert Party in June?

I was considering this as well. I may have to revisit it and see if I can fit it into my plans.

Question if anybody knows...if they give you the 5-day hopper...can you upgrade it? :confused3 I plan to get 10-day hoppers for us...and probably an AP for myself.

On the website, they have up to 8 day tickets available. However, I have heard that people were able to order tickets with more days by calling the YES program or by indicating this on the order form. I don't think they can be 'upgraded' once purchased though.

Less than 3 months away :banana::banana:. I am sooo excited I can hardly contain myself :rotfl:.

Hi guys!

Where can I find out what activities are offered at the various WDW resorts? For instance, I know at Fort Wilderness Cabins there's some type of marshmallow roast that WDW guests can participate in who are staying at other WDW resorts. So, what else can WDW resort guests enjoy at the various WDW resorts and is there a list of the particular activities posted somewhere?

Thanks!

Question for everyone:

Tell me one fun thing you do to prepare that is a tradition for you and your family - like do you always make t-shirts? Do you all read and plan over the maps together?

My answer - and this is what prompted the question - is that my kids just informed me that it's ALWAYS their tradition that they watch all their disney movies before going. I had no idea they always did this LOL.

Anyone else?

We actually have more of a tradition for Disney Cruises however we are this trip doing a Disney Dinner & Movie Countdown. DSis actually got the idea from the DIS :goodvibes

now that my tickers working i realized i only have 2 months and a few weeks , while it ant come soon enough i dont know if ill be ready in time!!!!

Re: Traditions -

This is our first trip, but I am checking out any movies we don't have for the kids to watch. We had a two hour late start school day yesterday and they watched the Aristocats. My son had seen it before but my daughter hadn't. She loved it, and then I showed them a picture of Marie in Epcot. Hopefully she will still be there!

I plan on going over the maps with them.

Actually I plan to have a family meeting about the trip. I feel like I need to talk the kids down a bit, and warn them there will be a lot of standing and waiting in lines and it will be hot!! I also need to explain touring plans and Fastpasses. And our itinerary.

I was going to make little Disney themed snacks for it. I should probably make a special cocktail for dh. ;)

I bought my son the WDW Extreme Vacation Guide for Kids. It talks about touring plans and looking at the maps in it, so at least I'll have my 9 year old to back me up! :thumbsup2

Still going overboard with planning (according to my wife). Just finished my menu page of my excel workbook. :cool1:

and of you June people going to do LGMHs? I want to know who I'm watching for LOL.

I try to remember... last February did a tour at EPCOT and bumped to another diser! was exciting!:goodvibes

and of you June people going to do LGMHs? I want to know who I'm watching for LOL.

I try to remember too. Last year I bumped into a Diser from our July 2010 thread. We were both coming out of Beauty and The Beast at the same time at DHS and I recognized her from her pictures on her PTR. It was fun seeing someone from the boards. We talked for a little while and it was nice to put a face with all the posts.

Subbing!!!:cool1:

Marlton Mom will be appearing at the Beach Club with DH and DS from June 10th to the 20th. We are Disney-ing with the Hanigan-Levy family who will be arriving at the Beach club June 11th to the 17th.

I am one of those spread sheet people with park hours, special events and ADR's listed but I do it in MS Word because Excel and I don't get along.

When I show this document to non Disney people they roll their eyes and tell me I'm a nut and that all you have to do is show up and enjoy the park. Incidently, these are the same people who are dining at 9:45 pm at a counter service joint because they have no ADR's and they finally got on the Jungle Cruise after a 50 minute wait in the heat at 4:30 in the afternoon.
Mwa Ha HA!

We are going in June because DS is 12 and he's a HUGE Star Wars fanatic. When your child is in middle school it's really hard to go down to Disney, or anywhere else for that matter and miss school. We are ditching the last day of school however, so COME and GET US COPPERS! pirate:

We are doing the park opening, back at the hotel around noonish and then out after a pool dip or nap before the evening hours. This lasts until about day 4 when our middle aged (and schooled) bodies can't take it anymore and we ditch "THE PLAN" to sleep in. I have strategically scheduled a trip to Animal Kingdom on this day. Side note: Does anyone else call Animal Kingdom, Animal Planet or is it just me?

The Hanigan - Levy family are new to this planning for Disney thing so I'm bringing them along slowly. You should have seen the looks of bewilderment when I explained such things as crowd levels, extra magic hours and ADR's, never mind the mysteries of the park hopper and more options and when you can and CANNOT go to a different park on the same day. They have never heard of the Dis Boards and I have them convinced I am pychic and I've figured out all this on my own. :smickey:

Ok so that's my story and I'm sticking to it, especially in June.

All you June Dis-ers better get with the program and start with the walking and the muscle stretching. June is Right Around the Corner and those bones, tendons and cardiovascular systems all need an advanced warning for the death march that is a Disney Vaction!

Get Crackin!
Marlton Mom
