that is correct, the deluxe only sleeps 4. I am not sure if there are any on the main lobby atrium or not or if they are all down that other hall...

Mmmears - You need to check out this thread http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?p=31298220&highlight=rpc+layout#post31298220

Minniesota and k&a&c'smom both posted pics of Deluxe RPC rooms with Queen beds. They're awesome! Minniesota's has views like the ones I posted earlier of my King Deluxe RPC rooms, so it would be right on the Atrium... and she had a wrap-around balcony :cloud9:

Anyway, looks like #4422 would be a super sweet room to get :wizard:

First of all, I want to thank you all for your help and advice with my question! Wow -- what great results!:cool1:

I agree for 5 dollars a night more, you get way more space!

I was thinking the same thing -- it's just not that much of a difference. I went ahead and changed our reservation this morning!:)

mmmears, I would choose the deluxe in a heartbeat. Are you going in August and December now? I think you've caught the WDW virus.:flower3:

I wish!:rotfl: No, it will be one or the other (or neither, depending on other things we're working on around the house). But we can go for a longer vacation if we go in the summer, both because of the prices and because I won't take my DD out of school for WDW.:)

mmmears, Here is a pic of the RPC rooms that do NOT face the MK. They overlook the Waterfall pool and have views of the Polynesian and Wedding Pavilion.

Their views look like this:

Like the PPs, I would go for the Deluxe room, especially since there are 3 in your party. The Deluxe RPC room, from what I've seen (but I've only stayed in King rooms in RPC) and read, will not have a daybed. The standard RPC room would.
My #1 request would be to be ON the lobby atrium. This is the best :thumbsup2
3d, 4th and 5th floors are all very convenient, especially b/c of stairway from lounge on 4th to CMs on 3d.

Good luck and how exciting to be planning another trip :cheer2:

Thanks for the photos and the advice! Since we don't need the daybed and we'll get much more space, deluxe seems to be the way to go!:)

Thanks for the link. I was looking for it and couldn't find it!:rotfl:

Lucky you! :wizard: Enjoy it!! We are going back on Sunday but staying in a Lodge building this time. I hope you have a great trip! :goodvibes

Misti 3 days!!! You must be soooo excited!!!:dance3:

I think that those RPC rooms that do not face the MK have a beautiful view...are those in the deluxe category or regualr RPC rooms...:confused3

Just a few Deluxe rooms.. most of the ones on that side are regular RPC rooms. That's the view we had when we stayed in a turret on that side. While we really wanted the turrets facing the MK side, we were pleasantly surprised with our view of the themed pool, Polynesian and wedding pavillion. You really can't go wrong with any view in the main building. :goodvibes

Can't wait!! We're staying in a regular lodge building room this time. Excited just the same though! :goodvibes

mmmears - I think you will be very happy with your decision, we loved the deluxe queen room! There was so much extra space to spread out, and we enjoyed the sitting areas.

I agree with Misti, we've never had a view that we didn't like in the main building. I love the courtyard view, and especially if you are high enough to see the castle! But the view that johnsonet posted of the themed pool and wedding pavilion is so beautiful, we don't mind not seeing the MK.

Someone asked if they'd miss the balcony with a turret king room? We did not miss it at all, with all those gorgeous windows; but we don't spend a lot of time on the balcony, so we're not the best judges in that regard! ;)

we had a room over on that side that was a regular room and it faced teh wedding pavillion and the poly.
it was on the 4th floor all the way to the left, maybe 4428?

I have to say that we are hooked. My husband really loved the resort. If I had to make a comparison I would say GF reminds me of YC and BWI where the Poly reminds me of BC or POP. The places we have stayed. The atmosphere was not stuffy at all as some have suggested. I never felt weird walking around in my bathing suit or my 4 year old son running around being a 4 year old. There were alot of children for my son to play with actually.

We had one minor problem so I will review both rooms. The first room was in Boca Chica room I think 8120. The location was great it was the first room outside the doors from the courtyard pool very pretty huge room. Until I tried to go to sleep. My husband went to the gym to workout and all I herd for 2 hours from 11 until 1 am was the automatic sliding door opening; people talking and then the hiddious noise of the elevator motor going on. It was so loud that neither me or my husband could sleep. So if you get this room do not unpack go to the front desk and move. This room however was very pretty and huge in size. I hated to have to leave it. The bellman said everyone complains about this room. My question would have to be than why do they put people in this room the other room next to us was used for staff. This was my only negative all week.

Our second room we were moved to was in Conch Key. Room 7501. This was a dormer room a bit smaller with large ceilings. We had a view of the marina, monorail and fireworks. We loved this location and it was so quiet. It was very cool that my 4 year old could see the monorail passing by and the Grand 1 was docked just below us. If you leaned way far to the right you could see the castle. Our houskeeper was wonderful. We actually had to tell her to stop putting stuff in our room we had so many bottles of H20 that we had no where to put them. My son thought it was cool that "Mickey" left chocolates on his bed every night. Even though the room was smaller we didnt find it to be that noticeable.

The pool was wonderful and we never made it over to the beach pool. The pool bar was a nice for the adults to not have to walk far to get a drink at night. My husband is hooked on the blackberry mojitos. Narcoossees was wonderful as it always is. Gasparillas had a great selection for breakfast; we were not there for lunch or dinner. Although it was nice they were open 24 hours so we could fill our mugs up before our late night swims. We had 3 meals planned over at the Poly and it was a short 5 minute walk over and took less time than the monorail did. However we were lazy and took the monorail back.

Things I loved. Seeing the castle everytime I walked into my room and from Gaspies. No one ever mentions this but eating breakfast on the patio at Gaspies and looking at the castle was very magical. Also seeing the fireworks from the courtyard pool was very special for us. We were floating around the pool and gathered as a family to watch them from the pool or hottub. This would be very romantic for honeymooners. The monorail is of course a plus. The level of service is also very noticabley higher than other deluxe resorts. So we are hooked on GF. We loved every minute of our time there. Next time I think we will book Sugar Loaf for its location to the pool. Possibly RPC but I dont really see the need to be in the main building and pay those prices since SL is so close to the main building and closer to the pool. So we now have a new favorite resort........The Grand :lovestruc

You are correct, I love love LOVE sititng outside of gasparillas watching the castles, or watching wishes. it is beautiful. glad you got to switch rooms!

All Ears does not have a current Gasparillas menu... does anyone here have one to post?

I didn't know they had breakfast.... I am interested to hear what their selections are...

I don't think they change the selections very often there. I looked at the menu at All Ears and that was the same as early 2008, too. I'll be there on Sunday and check though! :goodvibes

Welcome home and thanks for the great review! :goodvibes You said the room was "huge". Was it any bigger than a regular room there? I just wasn't sure if it was some sort of special oversized room or you meant it was just spacious in general. Thanks! :)

Disney has a new code out for club level ..so those debating SL or RPC you might want to check the rates.

I just made out better with this new code than with my 4/3 deal!

The new CL code is GAZ

just wanted to share :goodvibes

Liz Thanks for the review! So glad that you had a great trip...:goodvibes

Brook Thanks for the heads up on that code!:thumbsup2 its always nice to be able to save some on the rooms!!

It is a great code! So those who are on the fence about staying CL ~ you might want to look into it!
Since I am staying the 10 nights ~ this new code was better for me than the 4/3 deal. :dance3:

During value season the room rate w/code for
Sugar loaf is $338 a night (regular season 393)
RPC = 448 value (503 regular season)

Hi IWISHFORDISNEY, thanks for the review and the tidbit about gaspies patio seating. Glad you had a nice trip.

BTW, which one is the courtyard pool? The one between Boca Chica and Sugar Loaf lodges?
