The all new extension to Tagliarchy Island.

Hi all, WHO LET THE DAWGFAN IN? WOOF WOOF WOOF!!! How are you doing?

DanaUK, Good Luck Painting...

OK, Snuck on the boards before going in to work. Went to Dr's office, they want me to loose weight, and kept saying SouthBeach under their breaths. I am not going to tell you how disappointed I am with the nutritionist.... Alll of my blood levels looked really good, and everything appears to be fine.

Oh well, gotta go to work.....

:bounce:

Howdy, howdy!

How has everyone been? This has been the craziest summer. I thought early on that I could keep up with all the threads, but it is impossible. I feel like I need to copy and paste from one thread to another to save time, but then some of you would have the same message twice ... (which wouldn't matter if you SKIM!) ;)

Kelley and Katie both have their school schedules now and both seem pleased. It's a good start, but I have a feeling getting back into being ready for school for Kelley at 7:00 a.m. will be tough next week. Katie will have to be ready at the same time, and that's a bit different than her 9:00 opening last year! Eeek!

I'm still pining for the Disney Wonder ... it was the BEST vacation we ever had. I just can't wait until we can afford to do it again. Yep, I registered for the free trip IBOUNCETOO, and I appreciate the suggestion. I'll take you if we win. You take me if you win!

Hopefully after school gets started next week, I'll be able to be around more. In the meantime, I miss y'all and don't forget me!

;) ilt

 Who are you again?;) :p

Just kidding. Good luck to your girls' first days of school.

 :o HI all! So so sorry I have been so remiss in posting. I am overwhelmed with work right now. I am in overload mode this afternoon so I have been posting and not getting work done. I wanted to take some of that procrastination time to say Hi! Hope all is well!

Same here! Jordan starts school next Tues and although I love being able to watch the Olympics til midnight and sleep late, I'm ready to get back to the normal school year schedule ::yes::

THANKS SO MUCH for all your support about my "room mother" rant  I called the school back and left a message that I had "too much on my plate already this year" but would be more than happy to be Assistant Room Mother. Luckily I was able to leave a voice message and not have to actually speak with anyone....I was sooo afraid they'd talk me into it :smooth:

39CINDERELLA I absolutely loved CSR...but have never stayed at POFQ

Here's my input......

Pros for CSR
1. Absolutely Beautiful resort at night
2. Pyramid at pool is cool
3. Nice CM's - chauffered us several times in their golf carts
4. Pepper Market CM's remembered us each am and asked about our day...we really liked that
5. Buses - fast and efficient, didn't have to share w/another resort

Cons for CSR
1. No boatride to DTD
2. Large resort - requires some walking, but not really bad
3. No BEIGNETS! :(

Evening everyone :wave2:
I mananged to get my gloss painting done today and bought some really nice floor tiles. I'm not sure when we will get around to putting them down though as we need to put the plasterboard up on the walls first. However we can't get the plasterboard yet as our biggest car which is the only one we have a roof rack for is in the garage (it blew a head gasket and will cost £500 to fix!!)

Hey iluvtink you have not been forgotten. I hope the girls enjoy their new school year. Do you mean school starts for them at 7am or they get up at 7am? I couldn't imagine starting to teach at that time of the morning. I get into school about an hour and a quarter before the kids so that would mean being at work at 5:45am!!! Luckily we start at 8:55am

ohanafamily what do you have to do on the South Beach diet? I put myself back on my diet (I'm doing weight watchers.) I lost 60lb last year but have put some back on again  Time to get back into it I guess.

South Beach Diet is basically a version of the Atkins Diet with lean meats instead of any meats. It is OK, but like any diet it has it's problems. the main one being that after you loose your weight, people (aka me) tend to gain more back than they lost to begin with. The best "Diet out there is Weight Watchers. Another good one is (he put his name on a book he had real Dieticians write) Dr. Phil's diet.

I am NOT going on SouthBeach, I was just voicing my disappointment at what Ifelt the dietician was telling us.

I am sure DW will sneak a lot of the ideas she talked about onto my plate, but I refuse to go on a FAD Diet!:earseek:

Thanks for the info on parent help in schools. I guess the schools I have been in are in poorer areas so parent help is not so forthcoming. In my school we have parents who are not even allowed on school grounds for various reasons

kadaten I'm glad you liked the chocolates. You'll have to tell me which your favourite was. I love the Snowflakes and the chocolate crispy bar.
DanaUK When I did my student teaching, I had one mom who showed up absolutely drunk off her bottom. We could SMELL her coming down the hall before we saw her. Needless to say, we were not surprised that her son's diagnosis was Fetal Alcohol Syndrome. :sad2: :sad2: Can't believe parents sometimes. I'm sorry, but there are just some people who shouldn't be allowed to have kids. :(

I'm LOVING the chocolates! ::yes:: ::yes::
So far I've had 2 regular Flakes, a Whip, and the Dream bar. The Dream bar was a new one for me! YUMMMMM!!!!! I think my favorite would have to be...hmmmm.....whichever one is in front of me right then! They're all SO good! ::yes:: ::yes::

Thanks again, Dana!

I have a couple of more days maybe next week for them to arrive--I like anti-reflective lens so with my need to wear progressive lenses--special order (2 labs involve). I am trying a different place than normal--A) Our insurance is good for the eye check-ups which was $5 each, but it is lousy for eyewear coverage
B) I hate paying retail for eyewear--even on these latest "sales" because I know it is marked up quite a bit
C) A personal reason for one place

I wish we were handy as you and Pete. I need some extra room and change a couple of things.

Dana, we leave for school at 7:00 a.m. - it's about 10 minutes away, but we have to cross very unpredictable train tracks, so we have to allow a little extra time. Kelley starts at 7:28 a.m. and Katie starts at 7:32 a.m. - the schools are connected by a back driveway and are about 3-4 minutes apart, depending on traffic.

Yep, it's toooooo early for them, and for me! But if I didn't drive them to school I'd have to get up even earlier, because the bus comes around 6:35 a.m.!

Good morning all,
Wow starting school at 7:30!! I don't think I would be awake enough to concentrate at that time. What time do they finish? We start at 8:55 and end at 3pm.

So what do people have planned for today? I have to help Pete this morning with an ICT job he has been asked to do for a friend. We just have to put some network cables in to an office for their new computers. Hopefully we will be done by lunch time. This afternoon Pete is going to put the locks and door handles on the 2 new doors and maybe start to put the electrics in for the lights (although that might have to wait until tomorrow as we have to be at the theatre at 5pm.)

I hope everyone has a great day. This thread sure is quiet recently. I guess people are mostly posting over on the other thread. I do read that one but don't post as most of the chatter takes place when I am asleep so I find it hard to join in. Oh well, never mind.

Hi all, I'm at work, couldn'y sleep lst night. Nasty, Stormy outside.....

morning...

DanaUK.. Geoff 's bus picks him up at 7:20 am and school starts at 8 am until 2:30. Eric's school starts at 9 am and gets out at 3:40...

we start next Tuesday too..

I also think it is too confusing to be posting on 2 threads.. and maybe that is why things are quiet.. plus I have been really busy in my new job and then coming home and Eric having football practice all the way accross town from 5:00 - 7:30 and we don't get back until 8 and then ,making him some dinner, picking up etc..
Just have ran out of time..

OF.. my brother has been on south beach and lost a lot of weight.Over at our house the main problem is portion control.. We all believe that a 1/2 gallon of ice cream is a single serving size..

I just thought this was a funny smilie. Morning all. Just popped by to check out what I have missed. Looks like DANA, OF, GEFFRIC are up areound here. Saw TINKBACKWARDS and DHB on the other thread. Will stop by later.

What other thread - there's two going again? I saw Talkischeap's - is that it?

Goodmorning! As for what's up today I am trying desperately to get some work finished because tomorrow I am chaperoning my first field trip. I am more excited than my son is! :hyper: Then I go off for a weekend of fun, fun, fun - I go to oversee an inventory for work all weekend long :crazy2: It absolutely sucks when I have to do this. I have to stay up all night long, while 5 months pregnant I might add. I am NOT looking forward to this weekend. The only good thing is that I get to stay in a hotel room for two nights - alone - meaning, no child, no husband - just me and that bed to get some well needed sleep - when I am not at the inventory, that is. I don't think its quite an even trade off - stay up all night to be able to get some sleep during the day - nope, not even.

I do plan on hitting an IKEA near where I will be which I am looking forward to - again, when I am not sleeping and recovering.

Howdy y'all! I don't remember where the farina and malt-o-meal showed up, but I'm leaving breakfast lasagna, fresh strawberries dipped in Godiva and my grammy's homemade cinnamon bread just in case.

DANAUK, my kids start at 7:28 and 7:32 respectively and get out at 2:45 and 2:48 in the afternoon. It will be weird having them going at the same times, because I've always enjoyed that one-on-one time with Katie in the a.m. after Kelley is gone, and Kelley in the afternoon before Katie gets home. I also am not used to making breakfast at 6:30 a.m.... Kelley usually eats a pop tart so last year I could just roll out of bed and drive her to school. Katie always eats pancakes for breakfast, and there will be no more of the 8:30 a.m. cooking for her. So sad! zzzzzzzzzz

Today I have to drive Kelley on errands this a.m., then I'm taking Katie to the water park with a friend at lunch time. I'll get back in time to cook dinner, shower up, and then I have to go to a scrapbooking party. Yllk. I know some of you are big scrapbookers, like RRBB, but it has never grabbed my interest. I think it's because I have THOUSANDS of pictures and don't have the time or space to get started on such a huge project. I'm just going because it's a good friend and she needs to be sure there are warm bodies there.

Hope everyone has a good day. OHANA - find a corner and take a nap at work! hee hee
