Well I did it, and I feel better! I changed my reservation from the Tower to BLT, lake view, 1 bdrm. It cost us $7 dollars less! Probably because we were paying for 2 extra adults in the tower. So, another question....What floor is the sky bridge on and what floor is the monorail on? Thanks to WDWKOOK for getting me interested in BLT!!!:cool1::thumbsup2

Have a great time.

Yes, it is faster, especially in the mornings when there may be more monorails backed up because they have a lot of people coming in. Sometimes, you can get slowed down at the GF, when there is traffic in the stations.

But...but...I MUST hear "Por favor, mantengase alejado de las puertas."
:dance3:

The sky bridge is on BLT's 5th floor but when you cross it, you'll be on the CR's 4th floor. Then you'll take an escalator up a flight to the monorail platform.

HTH -- enjoy BLT! :goodvibes

You're welcome and congratulations!

I'm glad you feel better and for twice as much space you're actually spending less, but you're still staying on CR property. Isn't it going to be great having the washer/dryer and 2 bathrooms?

If you need any help with room location requests, here is a great thread that has all the BLT room locations/views/#s on the first page and great room location advice throughout:

When is your vacation and when will DH return from deployment? Hope it's soon!

Hubby will be back next week!!! Our trip is in June! Thanks again!

I've got all the info re: walking vs. monorail to MK, monorail to Epcot. What about to the other resorts. Buses fairly quick (as far as Disney buses go). Better to walk from DHS to Epcot to get on monorail, or just bus to CR from DHS directly? Any other options I'm not thinking about?

Yikes! It is NEVER faster to use the EPCOT monorail. Not only do you need to get to EPCOT from DHS (20 minute boat ride or 12-15 minute walk) but then you need to walk from the International Gateway to the front of the park, board the monorail, transfer at the TTC. That is about 1 hour total (maybe more). The bus to the CR from DHS would be 35 minutes at its worst (assuming you wait a LONG time for a bus to arrive).

I agree, the one thing about the monorail between Epcot and the CR is that you still have to change at the TTC. So, that does add an extra step. But, if you are exiting at the front of Epcot it is still the way to go. If you happen to be park hopping between Epcot and DHS it is best to use the boats at the International Gateway.

The busses to and from the CR are no worse than anywhere else, but you may be stopping at the Poly and/or Grand Floridian on the way to the parks, so those trips might be a little longer. I think coming from the parks, CR is the first stop. Someone else might be able to give a more recent update on the bus routes.

Congrats! I am still on the fence over the exact same decision!! I simply cannot decide if I want to give up my CR mk view room and the convenience of being in the tower near everything! I swear I think I'm just going to post a poll and let everyone else decide!!!:lmao:

I am sure I should know the answer to this but I don't. We leave for the CR in one week:cool1: We have two refillable mugs from last year (Jan 09). Can we use them again:scared1: Or will we get in trouble:confused3

From: http://allears.net/din/mugs.htm

"A sign states that the mugs are for use at that hotel for the duration of your visit."

The refillable mugs are not to be used on subsequent trips. Guests get away with re-using them, but they're not supposed to. It's considered bad WDW resort etiquette:rolleyes1

Have a great vacation at the CR!

When going to the other resorts not on the Monorail line if you don't have a car or want to pay money for a taxi, you can always walk to the Magic Kingdom bus station and get on the bus of the resort you wish to visit. Also don't forget when visting Wilderness Lodge and Fort Wilderness, they have the blue flag boat which goes to both resorts and it runs from 6:45 AM - 11:30 PM.

In the mornings the buses will share with the Polynesian or Wilderness Lodge. However in the afternoon they always share with the Polynesian and Grand Floridian. Also you are correct that when returning from Hollywood Studios, Animal Kingdom/Blizzard Beach and Downtown Disney/Typhoon Lagoon, the Contemporary is always the 1st stop among those resorts.

Thanks all. I thought a direct route would always be easiest, but I did see the DHS to Epcot route mentioned somewhere, and wondered if someone knew something I didn't??

The buses left us with a nasty stay in our mouth, which is one of the reasons we bought BLT, monorail access to 2 parks. :cool1:

We will be driving down, any elect to drive to DHS and AK rather than buses? Or are the buses easier?

You're welcome and since your driving down using your own car would be faster then the Disney buses, plus parking at the parks is free to those who stay onsite.

I also recommend driving. We always drive from the CR to AK and DHS, we're just not bus-tolerant:sad2:. It only takes about 10-15 minutes and if you need a driving map of WDW, both the front desk and concierge near the front desk have them.

We have been driving down the past several trips and for the most part, find driving much easier than dealing with buses. There is no doubt it is quicker. Our kids decided to take the buses back to the Poly from AK last summer, we drove. The bus left while we were sitting on the tram waiting to go to the parking lot, but we made it to the room with a good 10 minutes to spare before they arrived.

The blizzard is over and we are flying out tomorrow :cool1: We'll be in our Contemporary MK view room from Jan 25th - Feb 1st with the DxDDP. I'll give a full report when we return. Thanks to all you experts:worship: Your helpful information made planning the trip a pleasure and I know we will have a great time
