So excited! My brother is graduating High School in 2010 and I want to take him to the contemporary MK tower view! We're debating on dates between May-August, which will give me plenty of time to save!! Im so excited I just had to share and subscribe so I could find out all the wonderful things about our new home!
I am sure your all going to have a great time staying there, so any questions you have please ask them and we can all try to help.

CR Resort Fan 4 life, you are so very helpful and kind. What would we do without you? Also, Disney should hire you to do promotion for the Contemporary, because you can sell it like no one else! LOL. You are very knowledgeable.

I don't know if I told you this before but you really helped me make the jump from AKL to CR. We had stayed at AKL three times previously and I was very nervous about staying anywhere else. But with CR, the convenience is unparalleled and I just love EVERYTHING about this resort and at this time I can't see myself staying anywhere else for trips. Just thank you.

Thank you very much for those kind words, I appreciate it.

I thought that I had seen information on bread somewhere, but I have searched and come up empty. So...is there anywhere in the CR to get a loaf of bread? If so, about how much do they charge for it? I am trying to decide whether to pack a suitcase of breakfasty food and buy bread there or to place an order with Gardengrocer. I already have an order worked out, but I am a little leery about having the delivery with the convention hotel delivery fees. If I do go with Gardengrocer, does the bell services charge per case of water or one flat rate receiving the order? TIA!

Yes--there is a shop where you can buy bread at the CR. You can also get 2 slices of bread in a pkg(baggie) at the Contempo Cafe. I am not sure on the price of either one.

We had Gardengrocer deliver an order in July. There was no service charge from bell services for our 2 cases of water and 1-2 bags of groceries, so I'm not sure what you're talking about. GG does charge a delivery fee, and they require a minimum order. Also check out www.wegoshop.com. They don't have prices on their webiste, but they charge actual prices they pay at the store plus a delivery fee and I don't believe they have a minimum. My friend is at WDW right now and had her order from wegoshop.com--she said she was very plesed.

There was a discussion earlier in the year about the convention hotels charging for accepting/holding boxes the people shipped to themselves. I believe that it also included water that was shipped through Staples/Costco. I had planned on having groceries delivered the day we arrive but before we get there, so I was wondering if bell services charged that same handling fee for accepting grocery delivery that they charge for packages.

One more question. So sorry. I've noticed The Wave has smoothies for breakfast. Do you have to have a reservation to get a smoothie for breakfast or can you just pick one up? We have a reservation but will we be looked down upon or not allowed to get just a smoothie? We will most likely be bringing breakfast pastries from home when we check in to our room in all honesty.

Sorry one more. Is there still a parking lot by the Garden Wing for Contemporary guests? I wasn't sure if this is for Bay Lake Tower Guests now.

The Fantasia Market should have that for sale.

Hi
I just booked CR for Sept.7th through the 14th '10, we are so excited. I haven't gotten through the whole thread, but it has been so helpful this far.I have a few questions. If we have the money, should I switch from garden view to tower. I will have a 4 years old and a two year old with me. My DH also complained this summer about the smoke section being in the walkways at ALL Star Sport, is this an issue walking from the garden section to the main buliding? Thanks you so much. I love this thread!:cool1:

I am not sure about the smoothies but I can answer about the parking lot, there is definitely a parking lot for the Garden Wing. You can see it on the new updated map on the first page. I loved parking there and seeing the monorail whiz by!

First congragulations on being able to stay at the Contemporary, I am sure your going to enjoy it. When it comes to upgrading to the Tower with two young kids I would say it's worth it, because you will be an elevator ride away from your room and everything else that is located in there. So it basically comes down to you figuring out if it's worth it.

Hi :goodvibes

Congrats on your trip! Here's my 2 cents on the garden/tower thing. I don't think you can go wrong either way...they will both be great experiences. I have actually never noticed the smoking section or smoking on balcony thing to be much of a problem at CR myself. Our family is much older now, but we started with kiddos about the age you have and ended up becoming fans of the tower. Personally for our family, we think the convenience of the tower as well as the views offered are worth the price difference. That being said, I would not hesitate to make another visit to the garden wing if that was all that was available. If I went garden wing I would try to get first floor and lake/pool view as preferences. Tower is a tough choice about which side to pick...park view or bay lake view...always second guessing myself no matter what side I'm on. :thumbsup2

Thank you for the two cents! I think we will upgrade to the Tower!! It seems like a better fit for our family.
Do you know if you want to upgrade to the Magic Kingdom View or Bay Lake View? Both views are amazing in their own way so you can not go wrong no matter the one you choose, however if cost is a consideration the Bay Lake View is $40.00 less per night then what the Magic Kingdom View costs.
