There's been conflicting info given out by CMs and DVC guides on that. I don't think a definite answer has actually been given yet.

Are VWL and WL guests allowed access to both? AKL and Kidani?
If they are, I would assume that's the policy, and it would be the same for CR/BLT, no?

mom2aredhead That makes sense...I dont know the answer to either of those though...maybe someone here will...

It would be nice to have that 3rd pool option at the CR...the main pool they have is nice but certainly not as nice as the one at the GF or Poly...not sure though after the renovation???

The answer to that question is yes, and so you'd think the same would apply to CR/BLT -- that makes perfect sense, but that's not what many DVC guides are telling DVC members. When we inquired about BLT, the guide told us that only BLT guests would be allowed to use the pool there. I've also read here where several people were told the same thing. :confused3 So I guess we won't know until Disney makes it official, one way or the other.

pixie, is it guides that are saying that or just the people that staff the booths?

Thanks pixie!:) I sure hope the answer is yes...but your right we'll just have to wait and see...

Hi all! :goodvibes

Has anyone been in the last week or so to give us a pool renovation update? I know it is open, but last I read a lot of the fences were still up. Just wondering how the landscaping, kid area etc, is coming...

Also, does anyone have a more recent private dining menu? AllEarsNet's is close to 2 years old and I was curious if it changed? (Specifically wondering about breakfast choices and the chocolate monorail...)

Thanks again!!!!!

Hi Blue! :wave2: I was told by a DVC CM that yes, all CR guest can utilize all of the resort - DVC pool included. With the only exception being the DVC lounge (wishes viewing area), which at that point they didn't know how that was going to be handled since it can't accommodate everyone staying in the BLT.

The new pool complex at BLT looks like a waterpark from the concept photos. :cool1:

I know nothing sorry. Haven't stayed there in 8 years. :upsidedow

Just wanted to say congrats on the upgrade! :thumbsup2

Hi Mare!
I am superduper excited!!! I was just thinking of you and Brook as I read about the Joffrey's coffee stand downstairs! :rotfl: That might be the best perk yet!! (pun intended :upsidedow)

No way!! :woohoo: Is that who runs the Contempo Grounds (or whatever it's called :))

I'll have to check that out. I can now do "Monorail Coffee Stops" :rotfl2: How fun!

We might bump into you, my DH and DS5 can LIVE in the CR arcade. I can never get them out of there. They collect those stupid game tickets like crazy all week. :rotfl2: I leave them there for hours.

Have fun. It's a fun resort for boys!

CR FAN and others, I am right about Joffrey's running the stand, right????

Mare, what are you dates again? We are 6/9-6/17. I am SURE we will be in the arcade alot too!!!!!!! We have never seen it, where in the building is it now?

Our guide told us that, and then I read other posts on the DVC board where other guides had also told their clients that. Not sure about the people at the booths in the parks.

I hope so, too! It just wouldn't make sense to make BLT the exception when guests at BC/BCV, WL/VWL and AK/AKL have access to each other's pools.

Thanks for the answer. The guides are usually reliable. Ours has never led us astray. :goodvibes

The CMs in the booths and at desks in resorts are not as reliable unfortunately.

crazy4wdw posted this link a day or two ago - the most recent pics of the pool renovation i've seen:

http://www.mousesteps.com/index.php...sk=view&id=282&Itemid=65&limit=1&limitstart=2

from those pics, it looks like the renovation is definitely a major project and not simply a "freshening up" of the area. a few pages back, a poster mentioned he saw what appeared to be extensive plumbing going into one of the sections - which lends itself to the theory of a kids splash zone being part of the renovation.

hope this helps.

I have said this before and I will say it again the Contemporary guests should be allowed access to the Bay Lake Tower pool, because it's going to be right there and Disney Vacation Club is selling Bay Lake Tower as sharing amenities with the Contemporary. To accomodate the construction of Bay Lake Tower the Contemporary had to get rid of the North Garden Wing and lost so many rooms that they could have full renovated and because of that it's harder to get reservations at a resort which is popular for it's location and because of the conventions they host. So I wish Disney Vacation Club could realize these rules about pool use and everything else is false advertising because sharing amenities between both the Contemporary and Bay Lake Tower only works if they will share with us. Finally if it's true how the Contemporary guests can not use the Bay Lake Tower pool then I wish they could not let Bay Lake Tower guests swim at the Contemporary to make things even on both sides.

I think I have to agree with this!

HOWEVER, as a non-DVC member, but with friends that do own, I was under the impression that DVC members are allowed to use virtually any pool on property, irregardless if they are staying there, which why they can use the CR pool if they want. I guess the million dollar question will be whether or not us non-DVC members can use the BLT pool if we are staying CR and not specifically BLT...

I am not sure what's happening about that, because they still had the Contemporary Grounds coffee stand opened in the lobby when I was there in December.

I realize the name is different, but I thought Joffrey's was the company behind it (there are quite a few Joffrey's stand popping up here and there on property- albeit with WDW type names).

Anyway, I thought I read that on the old FAQ (that I am S-L-O-W-L-Y working my way though :surfweb:) but with all I have read there in the past few days, I could be wrong...

I know about them being allowed to pool hopp if they are staying on points if the pool hopping dates are not blacked out for them, however that's not the issue. If Wilderness Lodge guests are allowed to use the Villas at the Wilderness Lodge DVC pool, how is that any different then Contemporary guests wanting to use the Bay Lake Tower pool? Also can you really call it pool hopping if they go from Bay Lake Tower to the Contemporary, because as I said before it sounds like one of their amenities is using the Contemporary pool. So those are what I see as the differences and to me it's a matter of principal.
