My only other concern was the whole monorial system. I had never stayed on a monorail resort & was just so exicted to do this. I felt like we spent more time waiting for monorails, riding in monorails & then transferring monorails then we did in the parks! The whole "transferring" seemed to eat up too much time for us. We all kept saying "who came up with this idea???" I wish there was quicker way to change from the Resort Monorail to the other one without having to exit the platform, go down the ramp, across the pavement, back up the ramp & onto the other platform. Or maybe we just weren't doing it right & were taking the long way! I'd much rather be at a resort with direct bus service, or in the Epcot Resort area with walking paths to 2 parks, or boat service. I know we could have walked to MK, however we had someone in our group awaiting knee surgery that just couldn't walk that far & not be worn out for the day. The monorail transferring was almost too much for her. Not Disney's fault at all, but the whole process just seemed to take too long vs. taking a bus. Just my opinion, I know most ADORE the monorail system!

Maybe I am reading this wrong but you didn't go to the TTC and leave the resort monorail to get on a monorail to the MK did you? The resort monorail stops at the MK so no need to transfer. The only time you transfer is to go to Epcot.:confused3

Plus even when you do transfer for the Epcot Monorail it's very easy because there is an overhead sign saying which way to walk and the ramp is connected right to the station where the Epcot Monorail arrives.

It was just going to & from Epcot - but we always seem to start or end our day in Epcot, so maybe that's why it seemed like we were always transferring monorails!

We may have been transferring wrong - because we'd get off, exit the platform area, go down the ramp, then back up another ramp onto another platform. It just seemed tedious because that other darn monorail was right next to the one we just got off! So someone please clue me in if there was a quicker way! The gal with us with the knee problems has trouble with stairs or ramps - so to go down one ramp & then up another took a long time. It probably won't seem so long once she's not with us or once she has her new knee!

Well like it was said earlier the only time you would need to change Monorail's is at the Transportation & Ticket Center, when wanting to visit Epcot. You would also do the opposite when coming back from Epcot so you could get back on the Resort Monorail. However if you were going to the Magic Kingdom, Polynesian or Grand Floridian you would remain on the Resort Monorail until it stopped at those locations.

UUUUUgh...I posted a few days back about wanting to upgrade via the 4/3 deal to a MK view tower room for dates 12/12-12/19. Well, a little bit ago I looked online and the MK view tower room showed up under the 4/3 deal. So, I immed. got on the phone and called. The agent told me it would be $470 more. So, I figured I better check with my DH. I hung up and went upstairs to talk it over with him. He said sure...go for it. So I called back and by the time an agent got to the phone (about 9 minutes) it WAS GONE!!! It is no longer showing up in the system. I could cry.

I wonder if it was a glitch of some sort or if someone really booked it ahead of me. I had no idea it would only be ONE room. I figured they had released some MK view rooms for the 4/3 since that category of room is still available at the regular rate.

I am going to keep trying though. Wish me luck!

For the future, you should know that you can put a 24 hr hold on a ressie b4 you put down a deposit. Next time put a hold on it & then you don't have to worry about someone else booking the room.
I have done that when calling to find out rates & then putting a hold on a room so I can discuss it w/DH. If you don't put a deposit down w/in 24 hrs, then they'll release the room back.

The agent told me I would have to pay for it then and there because it was within the 45 day window. So, I'm not sure which is correct.

It looks as if the CR has a new holiday light display - Mickey's Silhouette in lights on one of the window walls near the Fantasia shop. Here's the link to the pics at mousesteps: http://www.mousesteps.com/index.php?option=com_content&task=view&id=348&Itemid=65

It was up over this past weekend - but not lit up every night - not sure why. There was a crew working on it early one morning, so either it was still being put up, or there was a problem they were working on. It was really nice!

You would have to pay in full if you book it b/c it's w/in the 45 day window, BUT you can still put a ressie on hold for 24 hrs 1st. I did this. We decided to take a trip to WDW last minute. It was about 35 days out. I called & got quotes on rooms & put a hold on AKL pool view. That gave me 24 hrs to discuss w/DH & arrange his vacation time the next morning at work. Then I called & booked it which then I paid it in full. CMs want you to book it then, but if you tell them that you or Dh need to check w/work for vacation time 1st or you can't book it til you talk to DH, then they will do the 24 hr hold.

Has anyone here had any luck recently or in the past with booking a wing standard room with a bounceback/pincode??? I am looking to book a bounceback for June next week. When I check the WDW site there is availablity for all categories of rooms the week I am looking at but I am not sure if they ever discount the standard view rooms. A standard room discount means a 10 day trip vs a 9 day trip with the garden view ;)

Well if there was a bounceback offer in our room it would say you can stay at the different resort categories only during specific times of the year, so I am not sure if that is able to help you or not.
